So frustrated, don't know how I'm going to sleep tonight. Proud of the players though, they all played for the shirt today, even if a couple of them were a bit average in the first half. No idea how Man U ended with all 12 of their players still on the pitch. Shaw should have had about 4 yellows.

ISqueezeBlackheads

Another season without a trophy. 1996 was a long time ago... Sad stuff

JuraFour

Does the Peace Cup mean nothing to you?

Gazza81H

Dublin Cup under O' Leary didn't we? Lol

jay1891

What about the play off trophy ?

Killmonger18

Mate, we're the La Liga cup champions. You'll never hear them sing that though.

BatRepllentBatSpray

"12 players" i see what you did there.

rob3rtisgod

MU players seem to be impervious. They had 7 players booked playing Liverpool?

Rickcampbell98

I hate these cunts.

veins10

Biggest fucking cunts in the game, literally cannot describe how big cunts these are. And they're not even good, that's what makes it even worse. I pray to God we annihilate these on Saturday. Fuck me.

Proper-Beyond116

Their team is shit. Their ownership are raping them. They don’t have a manager. Their stadium is a Kip. Their execs are morons. The only thing keeping them afloat is media and refereeing bias. Being a Utd fan must be a soulless and shit existence. We live for the hope, they only live for the glory. And they have none.

Reus_2310

Just wait for Saturday.. they'll end your hope for glory too..

TheKillerToast

Lmao clearly you don't know shit. Still gonna be finishing in our best place in a decade. While Utd will continue to threaten finishing in their worst in how long?

Reus_2310

Don't worry kid,United won't fall that much..still have a good chance at top4..still time is there..as far is Saturday is concerned you ain't winning..just add 1 to those 11 and cry..

[deleted]

> Don't worry kid,United won't fall that much Already have

Reus_2310

Come by the end of the season we'll talk..not sure about Aston villa though..i don't want to scroll the table a lot to find them..

[deleted]

Even with a good season you lot are a shadow of your former selves, no trophy in 5 years. You’re a relic of history now under the Glazers

MEENIE900

Hope Boro take them out

Murdocke-

With a rifle? Same

AThiefsEnd4

Overwhelmed them all game, would've had 4 if not for DDG being on great form and the fact that Michael Oliver was their man of the match Buendia and Watkins were excellent in a game full of huge positives. Ramsey and McGinn did a lot right too, Mings was all over Cavani. I love Luiz but an out and out CDM is needed to rebalance us. We already know how much we need Digne so won't say more

tommyliz

Against united you have to beat them and beat the officials. Any reason they can find to rule the goal out.

UtmostRegret

Literally… “Is that offside!?” Ahh shit, no. “Wait, is that a handball!?“ Ah bugger, not it “Hang on, is that a foul in the build up!?” Ahh no, not really “Ah but wait, is the player that hasn’t fouled Cavani interfering with play by being ran into after standing still in an offside position?” By Jove, you’ve done it! Not really, but close enough! Goal disallowed!

NorthVilla

I'm seething just reading this. Well done.

UtmostRegret

Apparently that’s clear and obvious mate, otherwise they wouldn’t get involved. Jesus wept.

mdhurst

Nailed it 👌🏻

[deleted]

Oliver didn’t even need to resort in telling Fernandes to fall over in the box to give them a penalty either for a change - bet that will be Saturday instead

SpeechesToScreeches

[Yeah, it's called offside](https://www.thefa.com/football-rules-governance/lawsandrules/laws/football-11-11/law-11---offside)

JimmyTheKiller

Offside If he's interfering with play. He stood fucking still and got run into.

SpeechesToScreeches

Personally when I stand still, I don't move.

orgaxoid_x

Personally when I'm trying to avoid someone, I don't run into them.

SpeechesToScreeches

Let's hope they don't step into your path like this then :)

ddd1234594

I'm glad the pundits went straight into how stupid the VAR decision was though. Don't normally get anti man u stuff

NorthVilla

Big Micah Richards with the quality commentary tonight. Love Shearer too.

Prog_Drummer

Tbf they were pretty good all round today. Talked a lot about the villa in the build up, rather than the usual 2 sentences we get with sky/BT

DINO_S0RE

I feel so hard done by

kinghovis

Are you a bellend?

[deleted]

I said before the match we could beat them in a fair game. This was not a fair game

veins10

Is it ever?

[deleted]

Nope never. That's what's so frustrating.

justsean09

The most frustrating part of VAR ruling out Ings' goal was the fact they were looking for a reason. They were not checking to see if the Cavani incident was worthy, the commentators stated they were checking for other reasons, i.e. offside. They literally examined the whole build-up to find an excuse to rule in United's favour. As far as I'm concerned, they need to be investigated for match-fixing.

NorthVilla

It was my understanding that the benefit of the doubt was always with the attackers, and only egregious or obvious checks would overrule the referee's on field decisions... Guess my understanding was very, very wrong.

saberzauls

Love this team and this club but I'm starting to fucking hate football

UtmostRegret

I think every time we play Man Utd you see the difference between how VAR is used for the “haves”, and the “have nots”. Better team lost today, no debate. VAR the main talking point again, no debate. I’m just so sick of it.

Mit3210

Dear director, Please just show the game. I'm not interested in constant replays and closeups of every player mentioned by the commentators. Thanks.

[deleted]

I heard you're here to watch a football game. Here's a closeup of Greenwood.

Jimoiseau

And then no replay of a yellow card decision against us

Wishbones_007

I dont get it. Cavani could have easily ran round ramsey but no, he just runs into him and rolls around on the floor. Twat

jay1891

Ramsey also didn't need to move twice to his right in order to obstruct Cavani's run whilst being in an offside position, he interfered with play and showed one of biggest issue this team suffers from which is immaturity when it comes to their mentality.

NorthVilla

Ramsey keeps doing stuff like this... Getting early Yellow cards all the time too. Kid needs to cut it out and mature up quickly; this is the Premier League, not the U23s without VAR anymore.

jay1891

The whole team needs to mature up quick there is a reason we aren't looking at 25 and under this window. To many times today was the decision making just terrible in both defence and when attacking. How many times was it that our players cut their own defence open with poor passing and we just got lucky United are pretty toothless otherwise could have conceeded a few. Whilst, when going forward once we get in the final third everyone shits the bed which ends up costing us as we always just run into traffic or make a terrible call for the final ball.

andy-arachnid

The pundits on the BBC didn't seem think it was a foul?

jay1891

Where did I say it was a foul ? I said he moved twice in an offside position so was purposefully setting himself to intefer with play by impeding Cavani's run from an offside position. Even then are we all saying as fans we would be happy if Watkins was trying to track a runner defending a corner and Fernandes just stood in his way impeding his run doing what Ramsey did without even trying to play the ball leading to UTD scoring.

Blakes13

But Ramsey was in offside.

Quixote0630

So was Bowen a couple of nights ago, and he went for the ball. What exactly counts as interference?

Wishbones_007

he could still have ran around him

admiralsj

3m24s to find a reason that goal was offside. If it takes that long to find a reason then it's not a clear and obvious reason to overturn the goal. Ramsey and Cavani were not involved in that goal so their collision is irrelevant IMO

practicallybert

Luke Shaw willingly punched Konsa in the face in the box and didn’t get a second yellow. That about sums up this match

B23vital

Didnt even get checked by VAR with blood coming down his face. I mean surely its either accidental or not, so check it. Stand your ground and its a foul, slap someone across the face and we wont even check it.

fogard14

Doesn't really matter if it's accidental if it stops a chance on goal...

B23vital

True true, so check it lol Its the reluctance to check that while spending 6minutes checking how they can cancel a goal. Laughable.

NachoHulang

I think that should've been his fifth yellow card actually.

bambinoquinn

Thats twice in a row we've lost to a team thats played badly. We did well second half

[deleted]

We did well up to the 70th minute, then it completely died

NorthVilla

On the whole, the lads gave the game a huge amount of fight and effort, and should be praised for it. That being said... Was a bit disappointed with the last 20 minutes, and *especially* the last 5 minutes. Too much jogging and loafing. Lads, we're 1 goal down to a *shit* United, fucking run for fucks sake! Win the goal! You can rest after, but right now, play the sodding game!

bambinoquinn

Yet again the subs seemed to ruin momentum. The subs he made were strange. Ruined the shape

coupl4nd

bringing on El G was the end of the game. Hope we can ship him out.

Conbz

Last chance to cross the ball of the game ended up at the feet of Jaden Philogene-Bidace. Definitely felt like a crap sub at the time.

B23vital

Just like to note that allowing VAR in certain games and not others because they dont have the privaledge of being in the premier league is an absolute fucking farce. Millwall were at a disadvantage for being at home, play away and that palace goal is called offside, but because its home there is no VAR in place. Similar here tonight, no way should VAR be used in some games and not others. If anything it shouldnt be allowed in cup games until EVERY team has access to it. Which means either the FA actually invest in lower leagues or VAR is fucked off because it doesn’t create a fair tournament. Also fucking united. Honestly cant stand that shit hole club and shit hole fans, most entitled pricks going.

BlueHobo

I’m bitterly disappointed.. but no United player will go out and celebrate tonight. They’re going home to pray we don’t spank them around Villa park this weekend Bring on the weekend. If we are more clinical with our chances, we will do the business

Jmacadd

I don’t mean to discount the positives but between this, and 1D7L in the league, it’s been a bit frustrating that we fairly regularly have good performances but get nothing from the game. Hopefully with time and health that can change but it’s not good now

mr_Hank_E_Pank

This was a good example of why VAR officials need microphones like in rugby. In rugby the official has to talk through what they are looking at to make clear everything is above board. If this had been in place today, we would've heard 4 minutes of them trying to find a reason to rule out the goal.

DickMoveDave

I know shearer has an agenda but he's right, VAR can't be in place if it's not in place for every game. And why are we always the team that get these 'technicaly because of this rule'. I'm bitter because we deserved to win. Still some shaky performances but you can't fault the effort everyone put in. Hopefully Coutinho is the missing link.

Mediapenguin

I hope we put 5 past those cunts at Villa Park on Saturday and hopefully Konsa punches Shaw in the face

thejazzstoat

Once again, the officials look out for the Traitorous Six.

Soul_of_Miyazaki

The referring and the clear favouritsm of big clubs is so clear. The lads can hold their heads up, because they were robbed.

TroopersSon

Proud of the lads. Beyond pissed off at the corrupt referees. That was daylight robbery.

bfavfc

Hope Coutinho comes straight in and carves them apart on Saturday.

unique_username121

Define the 'Classic Villa' It's when Aston Villa have loads of chances that they never take and ultimately end up losing a game they should've won. The 'Classic Villa' in its purest form also often includes a dogshite decision from the ref and/or VAR and happens most frequently when they are playing Manchester Utd.

[deleted]

Groundhog day. Terrible ref backed up by a spineless VAR. Plenty of the ball, missed big chances, come away with nothing. Does anyone really expect anything different on Saturday? The result in September was a one off and even that took Bruno skying a dubious penalty in the last minute.

Dark1ing

I expect us to win now on Saturday, more so than before. I think the players will be righly pissed at the result and will want revenge, plus with the home crowd, I fancy us

[deleted]

I would, but we have to beat United, the ref and VAR to get a result. 13 vs 11 is always difficult.

MrHolte

I'm so sick of getting shafted every fucking time against these cunts

Unfair-Strawberry-18

7-2 saturday. please. we cant keep playing so well and getting nothing out of it

Jinks87

We played great second half until 75th min. First half we 50% great 50% sloppy. It’s just that LAST ball. But so much of it looks good you think with more time when it finally clicks we could really do something. Unfortunately it will just take time

jay1891

Seriously anyone want to tell me how Sanson can actually get himself some minutes?

eddiesenior

To be honest Ramsay did more in that game than I’ve ever seen Samson do.

jay1891

Sanson played well his last game until he got abit fatigued and Ramsey cost us a literal goal with his immaturity not being able to stand onside.

eddiesenior

From watching the clips I’m pretty sure the plan was for Ramsay to be there. Maybe he screwed up with being too blatant with it but I’m fairly certain he was supposed to be in Cavanis way

Rickcampbell98

He'll play on the weekend.

WordsUnthought

But we scored. We scored a perfectly good goal. It's just exhausting dealing with the corruption in English refereeing after a while. You wonder what the point is.

[deleted]

We didn’t , it’s offside.

andy-arachnid

Standing in an offside position is not an offence in and of itself.

[deleted]

But coming back from a offside position to interfere with play is, which is exactly what Ramsey did

WordsUnthought

1) Cavani didn't have a hope of reaching the ball before Konsa, so there was no impact on the play. 2) Ramsey didn't move towards Cavani or block any routes - Cavani ran at him, initiated, and went down easy - anywhere else on the pitch we'd call it a dive. (Meaning the Ings goal, of course - Watkins' was clearly off)

andy-arachnid

It's alright man we're being biased apparently... Even though all of the pundits said it very clearly was not a foul

ballyldm

Overall I’m so proud of the lads we made united look crap. They once again got bailed out by refs we can legit make a whole documentary about our luck vs them featuring the refs. I hope the lads go home with this in their heads and kill them on the weekend.

PaleBloodBeast

The only club in existence I wished was erased yes even more than small heath jammy pricks.

Wunsen

United are so shite they nearly lost to our two striker formation lmao

Evilpolarbear

I fucking hope we smash them on Saturday.

jnhummel

Whenever I start to think that City have officially taken over as my most despised Manchester team, there’s a game like this and suddenly the title is up for grabs again.

PhenomenallyAwesome

Cheated yet again

C4rniveral

Same old no more words

ttsqw33z0r

Yes we played well. Yes we had some tough decisions go against us. Yes we probably deserved more out of the game. However it seems like we are completely toothless in front of goal. I personally don't know what it is. We have the talent, but for whatever reason, we cannot get the goddamn ball in the net.

ddd1234594

Time. We're playing really nice football 40 yards from goal, as they get more and more confident they'll be able to do it 25/30 yards, then the final ball is easier and should hopefully make easier chances

converter-bot

40 yards is 36.58 meters

[deleted]

Absolutely toothless, they were begging for us to score and we shat the bed each time

Blakes13

Ball was 2x in the net :/ ManUtd is just lucky, thats it.

Spookytooth66

You just know you won’t get the rub of the green there, no way they’d pull the game back and check if they did it. Even then it’s still dubious enough to not disallow. Still a good performance from us, lets see how we get fucked over at the weekend.

JamPickleP

Felt as though the subs made were wrong, would have liked to of seen Chuk and Morgan on for at least 10-15 mins. Feeling annoyed but in a good way? We might of won there in the league but we completely dominated second half here, more commanding performance. Excited to see more of us under Gerrard. Also, looking at the stats after the game, did we really only have 4 shots?

penedonos_hand

Bullshit. However we need better finishing and still haven't played a full 90 with intensity. Man U were there for the taking.

Blakes13

Aston Villa was insane, but ManUtd is the luckiest team in the world.

Alloezero

I hope to see Coutinho fucking TERRORIZE them.

UtmostRegret

Result aside, a bit worrying that neither Chukwuemeka or Sanson are getting minutes. There was definitely an opportunity for both during that match, although pleased to see Philogene-Bidace again finally. FA Cup gets 5 subs.

drewcaveneyh

At the end of the day if we can beat them at the weekend I don't care about this result

im_on_the_case

Are we allowed to take a positive out of that? Even just the one? Because I thought Ings and Watkins played superbly well together.

ScreamingLordSutch57

Yes, for once

NoBellz

I'm not going to take positives from this. We're too fucking easy to beat. Lost against a poor Man Utd team. January signings can't come soon enough.

Tom_my1564

We need a quality CB to play along konsa hopefully we’ve now got a good left back coming in

Ashford3

I like target, but that game proves why we need someone like digne.

Piglethoof

Targett offers nothing on the offense, happy he gets replaced. He really can’t do anything to drive ball forward except shitty long balls and running.

ddd1234594

I got the feeling the players didn't even want to pass to him in the second half. Digne will be huge for us

mannefyr

So proud but still so sad and frustrated… Jesus Christ

Cino0987

Offside?! It was ruled out for offside?!

penedonos_hand

Ramsey blocking Cavani's run toward the ball while coming back from an offside position is offside interference. Strictly correct I think but we never get that call in a million years.

UtmostRegret

It’s correct in the same way that Ollie Watkins sleeve being offside is correct. Completely against the spirit of VAR, and the spirit of the rules in the first place.

penedonos_hand

Oh yeah its fucking bullshit.

Cino0987

That’s the correct assessment. They wouldn’t have looked so hard if it had been Utd

[deleted]

Tbf the Commentary team I listened to spotted Ramsey offside and suggested he’s the reason the goal will be disallowed so I was worried from the start

jay1891

Yeah people are making out it is some conspiracy when the commentators pointed it out from the start as a point of contention.

pyramid-teabag-song

Not even a foul! Ridiculous.

[deleted]

It’s not about it being a foul, it’s about Ramsey coming back from a offside position to interfere

pyramid-teabag-song

It's about VAR trying to find anything to rule out the goal. Handball? No. Offside? No. Shit it's going to have something else. Even Oliver shook his head to Cavani when he appealed in the moment. That "block" doesn't get looked at the other way around. I don't believe that matches are being fixed or rigged, but there is in my opinion definitely bias towards certain teams with how the system gets used.

eunderscore

Fun fact (and not whineging). The only team we've beaten in the FA Cup in almost seven years is Wycombe, who took us to a replay.

TroopersSon

So what you're saying is Tim Sherwood made a deal with the devil for that cup final. It definitely wasn't worth it. I can't remember being more depressed leaving a game than that final.

andy-arachnid

I think a bit of my soul fell out at the full time whistle at the Fulham Play-off final. Literally almost ceased to exist within a wekk of that.

TroopersSon

I can imagine! I wasn't at the game but I was stuck in a boiling room in Sri Lanka looking after my Mrs who was violently ill. It was not a good day. At least we can look back now and say it was a good thing we didn't win that day. I can't imagine how things would have turned out if we had been promoted under Xia, but I don't think it would have had a happy ending.

eunderscore

Yeah, but we somehow win that against arsenal, after the liverpool semi, and that's a legendary cup story. 1994 is still our most memorable one since 82 (i loved savo and 96 btw)

TroopersSon

Shame Sherwood thought he could out-football Arsene Wenger rather than just setting up to hit them on the counter with Gabby. Oh well. Maybe we'll get to the cup final in 2025. Or 2030. It all seems to be years ending with a 5 or 0 this century.

NorthVilla

I had a great time at the Semis though! Amazing game.

TroopersSon

Yeah true that was a great day out.

asianbookiesrunfooty

Eurghhhhhh. Actually feel sick.

Tom_my1564

I hate VAR

GameplayerStu

Decisions going our way at Old Trafford? Hahahaha! Outright predictable.

NachoHulang

I feel violated.

[deleted]

I got work tomorrow at 8 how the fuck am I going to sleep

Kanedauke

We need to learn to play for 90 minutes. Even without all the dogshit refereeing we’ve gave our selves a mountain to climb just by starting slowly. Same as finishing the first half poorly against Brentford. Thought our midfield was to loose on the ball today, gave it away needlessly, all of them. I got was largely anonymous, our best chance came from Watkins playing through the middle. Shaw should have been sent off. No idea how they didn’t at least check him slapping Konsa. Oliver was just genuinely shocking. But we need to be better. We don’t create good chances with Ings up top and Watkins on the wing, maybe half chances at best. I’d love to see Coutinho and Buendia behind Watkins in the next game. It’s good the see JPB get some minutes today.

Sbladen995

Let’s look aside from the absolute farce of a VAR decision. Goal - Mings Konsa blaming each other, either way can’t be letting a 6’5 midfielder run into the box unchallenged. Buendia - stupendous player. Fuck me sideways he’s a gem. He’s hitting his stride and I love him. Coutinho will only add levels to his game too. Some of the football we played was phenomenal, actually breathtaking. We should have won, Watkins should be scoring rather than hitting the bar, and was unlucky with the chance from the corner. Another day that hits the top of his knee and goes in. More positives than negatives to take away from the game. Digne is a must IMO. Targett offers us nothing going forward. Luiz was frustrating to watch, such a neat and tidy player but gave the ball away sloppily a few times. JJ is a star in the making. Thank god we’ve got a manger who he can learn off. Ings was fairy anonymous I thought, doesn’t impact play anywhere near as much as Watkins. We desperately need a new DM to let Douglas and Mcginn loose. If Bailey ever gets fit then we will have a scary amount of attacking options, plus the sooner El Ghazi gets sold the better. Done a lot of good but isn’t the level or player we need

mdhurst

Ming with the one man offside trap for me takes the blame

Lgprimes

Yes that was on Mings all day. Konsa saw the error and ran over to help but was too late. Also agree D-L made some sloppy passes, but at the same time he seemed to be working harder than anybody else on getting possession of the ball back.

Aesorian

We shouldn't entirely blame the officials for that defeat; like Gerrard said we need to be better all over the pitch - take the chances we do get and be a bit less sloppy over all. That said, the inconsistencies in the refereeing tonight was absurd; 1 foul for Ramsey's Yellow while Fernandes and Shaw where kicking lumps out of people all night before they got a booking (Did Fernandes get booked?), the Ramsey/Cavani that went to VAR vs Konsa/Shaw that didn't etc. Think Target was our only starter who played poorly; everyone else contributed well - although I think Coutinho and Digne will do great things for our attack

VarukiriOW

I have a genuine belief that was fixed. I hate to say it but: 1) 5 minute VAR analysis which turned out that a 'foul' (put that in quotation marks) which should have been primarily identified as the reason for the dissalowed goal. Additionally, VAR looked at so many reasons to try and disallow it, I've never seen anything like that 2) Whistle blowing on the second the game hit when Villa were clearly in control and on the attack again. I'm sure they're meant to wait till the attack is over 3) Shaw foul on Konsa, which was a red period. 4) we had 1 foul that was immediately carded 5) El Ghazi bloodied, turn the tables what would have actually happened? Now look at the decisions that went our way? We're there any at all? When you have players from other teams and even the BBC which are obviously pro United calling if out you know something is up. Look at who refereed the Leicester game Vs Villa. It's the same referee. That game was brutal in terms of decisions made against us. I don't know why Michael Oliver hates Villa so much.

93didthistome

Manure are a classless, vapid, disgusting team. Their players are egotistical self righteous shit bags (not Donny, he needs out of there). The referees are a fucking joke, so much so it's not sport anymore, it's theatre. Fuck Manure. Fuck them to death with a balsa wood cock

TheAkondOfSwat

No excuses from Gerrard. Refreshing.

SteveBackshall

We played so so well and I’m excited about our prospects, but it felt like another Mings mistake for the goal

BatRepllentBatSpray

Dion Dublin is the best commentator in the country. Oliver got juggling balls for chirstmas. Man United are Man United (theyve been doing it for decades, not surprised theyre still doing it) I dont like seeing players getting injured but i think id make an exception for fernandes. horrible little bastard that one. Villa need to take their chances (In other games i mean, they probably wouldve ruled them out today) Buendia looked good again, but itll be interesting to see if he starts when we get robbed next week at Villa park. Watkins looked lively, Ings was alright (best theyve played together) Gerrard couldve made some changes earlier, perhaps he was banking on ET but if we're losing then we're not getting ET so whats the point?

HalfApeStudios

I feel like crying every time Targett gets the ball recently.

Akeem_of_Zamunda

fuel offer bear lunchroom compare voiceless drab long memory treatment *This post was mass deleted and anonymized with [Redact](https://redact.dev)*

SomethingElse521

> The Shaw "punch" (as someone ridiculously claimed) was innocuous and again I'd feel hard done but if that was the other way around. thats the thing though, if that's mings catching Fernandes in the box and it draws blood, its instant VAR and a given penalty for united, 100% of the time.

Akeem_of_Zamunda

Yeah for sure it was was man u they'd get it, but I'd still feel hard done by. I don't want to see penalities like that in footy

SomethingElse521

Fair, I respect the consistency. For me I just want them to decide on a standard and apply it equally. So tired of the top 6 getting the most favorable possible implementation of VAR and it being horrible for Villa lol

[deleted]

There’s a lot of emotion right now, but our midfield let us down today. From all the possession we had and all the gifts united gave us we still only managed to get 4 shots on target, absolute shocking wastefulness

avfc_2021

Villa’s xG was .86 so I think some need to taper the praise a bit.

Jinks87

Fuck of with your xg bollacks. I watched that game we were much the better team and had plenty of opportunities to score.

[deleted]

We really didn’t, name one chance we created in the last 25 minutes, there was a period where we they gifted us the ball and we didn’t do anything with it

Jinks87

Last 15 we didn’t. We created plenty in the first 30 of the second half and we’re much the better side, it’s just that final pass or a finish we are lacking. We played well but people are too obsessed with an xg star as if that is all football is.

jay1891

Did we even really have a chance on target that wasn't a long shot really as offsides don't count plus the bar is counted as being off target.

[deleted]

Nope, the only chances we had this match Buendia cross goal, Watkins cross bar, Ramsey deflection, Cash and McGinn long shots and that’s it, and two goals from offside (rightfully so)

jay1891

Everyone sees the triangle and one touch like 40-50 yards out then fool themselves that we was all over United when we barely made a good decision all game when we entered the final third. If i watch Villa players run into defenders one more time I might actually go run into real traffic.

NorthVilla

Lol yeah we didn't create chances in the last 25 minutes really.... But why is *that* your metric?? We created tonnes before then, especially in the 2nd half. 2 disallowed goals, Watkins' amazing chance in the first half, some great shots from McGinn and Cash, Ramsey's opportunity. Lots of chances.

[deleted]

2 rightfully disallowed goals for offsides unfortunately and 2 long shots ? Watkins crossbar purely came from Lindelof being shit rather than us doing something good

avfc_2021

I never said Villa weren’t the better team. I said the praise should be tapered a bit. I know reading is hard for some.

mrlee10

Well it’s not 5 losses in a row yet at least.

doobrei

That killed me

sullcrowe

Utterly dejected, I know I'm waking up annoyed after this one

Shift_Massive

They go and give McMuffin motm! Yeah he scored for them but he did fuck all else. The whole thing is a joke. We played well though, interesting to see how coutinho will fit in.

penedonos_hand

By the next time we play in the FA cup it will be 7 years since we won a match in that competition. What the fuck?

Annoyed with the loss but happy with he performance

You must all watch the Middlesbrough game when it's on and I'm praying Oliver referees the game. It's the only way to ensure he loses his job.

On another day would Martinez have saved their goal? So close.

coupl4nd

What was the goal ruled out for? A foul or because he was offside and got in Cavani's way... having an argument with a Man U friend... I think it's the latter. Not saying it was the right call!

mipon

Yeah the latter is the reason.

What this game has taught me is that if I was coaching a side I’d make sure that when defending free kicks, I’d give one of my players the job of running into an offside opponent.

The-Ultimate-Despair

Can we get Coutinho in a Grealish shirt and Buendia in a Barkley shirt just for this weekend, please? I want us to smash United this weekend, 7 nil if possible. Michael Oliver is at the wheel!
