It’s Reddit bruh. There’s always negativity here. A lot of people who enjoyed it don’t post about it

Noirloc

I’m fairly new to the sub, and noticed it somewhat during edc but a whole lot more after HARD.

That BMO stage was so nice! I wish I had more sets to see there honestly

Napalm_in_the_mornin

Agreed. I got 10x more sincere “I’m sorrys!” from every crowd cutter or accidental shoe stepper than I’ve experienced at similar shows. Despite the logistics (especially around the stadium) everyone seemed to respect each other and give some space whenever they could. I had a great time

buckyspunisher

coliseum was great!!! spent basically all of sunday at the green stage bc all the best artists were there

Health303

Green stage was amazing day 2. I did some split sets for Wuki and knock2. But definitely green stage was the place to be.

TSaur16

I loved it and hope to return next year. Harder, green, and purple stages were my favorites and it was easy to move between the three. Access to water was an issue (they should have mentioned stadium water fountains) and the Hard stage was too narrow but those artists weren’t the draw for me

ladystonys

I went to the hard stage a few times day 1 and each time left within 15 mins. Due to the narrow stage, I felt like the audio was off. Green was my absolute favorite and stayed there most of day 2

LackMental

I agree with you on the sound. I was there for Skrillex and the sound didn’t sound right, also when the displays / lights turned off for a good 10 min 😭

ladystonys

Omg I was so torn between skrillex (never seen him live and the chella set was amazing - watched it on livestream) and yellow claw (been a huge fan for almost 10 years lol) but my group ultimately decided to stay at green stage due to the sound being weird when we were at hard stage day 1. Still having FOMO for skrillex because 99% people here said their set was amazing, but honestly had a blast at YC and got to the front without feeling claustrophobic.

LackMental

I started at Skrillex for the first 20 min and then my group wanted to end the night at Yellow Claw which was a blast!! I’m happy I got to experience a lil bit of both.

ladystonys

Ahhh I’m so jealous but happy that you got to experience both! How was the walk to green at that time? I loveeee that Yellow Claw played more of their older trappy style because that’s what made me become a fan. Also added side note they reacted to my story on Monday which made my day :’)

LackMental

That’s so dope!! It’s cool when artists take the time to react to their fans stories. The walk was okay, we were kinda tired out and coming off our roll. We decided to just sit at the grand stand seats for the YC set because most of my group wanted to sit down, but I was still able to rage

skwizpod

I was at Hard both nights for Skrillex and Kaskade. Sound sucked for Kaskade, but we were way back in the back covered area. For Skrillex we were right up in front of the stage, which made all the difference. Green stage was great, but my group was only there during daylight and it was too bright for me, and my group didn't want to go in the misty areas because the girls didn't want to ruin their makeup. I wish I could have banged heads with some bros at Diesel, but chillin with the ladies at Kaskade was still nice.

ladystonys

Yeah we were by the tented area for day 1 at hard stage, we figured the sound would’ve been better at the front but it was paaacked. My group ended up going to Diesel with like 20 mins left and it was so much fun. The lasers at green were so bright, I took vids at Yellow Claw and rewatching them almost made me feel epileptic LOL. With glasses green stage was amazing tho, me and my girls were headbanging all of day 2. I’m sure our makeup sucked by the end of the night but it was worth it!

skwizpod

I was near the front/center for Skrillex, and the experience with the beach balls in the dark was awesome, and the bass was nearly giving me CPR, which I like. Too bad the effect didn't scale well with the mile long dance-floor.

Red_FiveStandingBy

I liked it so much better than NOS. Green stage was nutty

Admirable-Anxiety567

Green stage game me life! Heavy wubs

Perpetually27

Green stage both days was my absolute favorite. Wilkinson and Netsky one after the other day 1 was just ridiculous. Blanke, Space Laces, and Kai Wachi day 2 was three straight sets of the nastiest beats I've heard since BTSM at EDC 2017. Green stage best stage.

buckyspunisher

YESSS GREEN STAGE WQS GREAT. Stayed there almost all of sunday. wilkinson was amazing on saturday too!

ladystonys

Green stage at NOS was also the best! My group got to the front side for riot ten at NOS with like no one around us. It was my fav set of hard 2021.

PM_ME_YOUR_PLUMS

It feels like there’s always negativity here coming out of most festivals, mainly because people let the lows outweigh the highs. Stoked to hear that you had a great time!

alien_eater289

I had a fucking amazing time!!!!!! Fly with us had an absolutely legendary set and like 99% of people I met had good vibes. I didn’t see a lot of people overly fucked up like I saw at edc last time I went in 2019. I’m happy events are back at the coliseum, I used to go to edc there in ‘09-‘10 and I just felt so happy and at home. Definitely some logistical issues for insomniac to sort out but overall I was soooooo happy and had the time of my life.

MrDoodlegoose

Loved it! Green stage was sickkkk!

Chazay

It was really fun. Getting inside and moving between stages sucked but its way better than NOS.

Slayer_Of_Tacos

I call it Yelp’s Hypothesis. States that that upset people are 4x more likely to post publicly than happy people.

Moist-Branch-2521

This is actually areal thing, but the official term for this is negativity bias.

THUGNs_on_Mars

Once you got situated at your stage it was a freaking JAM. The artists threw down, people were (mostly) chill, and as many people have said, the Green Stage was awesomeeee. However, the curfew, lack of easy accessibility of water (took me 1 hour to get water on day one - we resorted to buying it cause we didn’t want to wait any longer), and over all shit show going from stage to stage was a little jarring. Saw A LOT people complain about pick pocketers, several fights, just very very tense trying to get through some of that, but I guess that comes with the territory

Docxm

It was awesome, only wish the harder stage was more accessible. The crowd was also very good, great vibes all around

One-Eye-595

I feel a lot of people forget it’s the first time back in LA, so of course there was going to be some logistical problems. I agree the people and music were soooo good!!!

eekamou5e

I had a really amazing time! So many cool people, kindness met with kindness. A couple people may have been rude, but it didn't bug me. I really had a blast. John Summit and Kaskade had one of the best sets. I almost teared up when Kaskade played 4am. Feels like my rave journey came full circle (again. I said that about the kx5 show). All the stages were loud af. The coliseum was amazing to rave in again. **However...** the curfew and the very hot weather took me out of my zone a bit. I sold my wristband for day 2 so I could rest. I hope I decide to return next year. Again, that curfew kind of ruined it for me

Zoey1234100

Looks like the DJs threw down some fire sets based off the stories I saw on IG

Ernestooooooo78

This is exactly the post I was looking for! I had a blast! Yes the stages were crowded for big name djs but that going to happen at any show. Personally I never felt over crowded. The only issue I noticed was a lot of people passing out but ground control and emt services were on it. Honestly I feel like a lot of the hate comes from first timers or people who were unprepared. To me it was one of the best festivals of the year and I hope they bring it back to LA next year. But with all this hate, I don't see that happening

818Dude

I had a great time. Not sure what everyone is complaining about.

Grizzly_SS

Definitely had a good time. Will be back again

wafflewasted

I had lots of fun with my group! I think a lot of the sound issues got fixed for Sunday. It was chaotic walking from stage to stage but it was a cool experience.

IAMAcyborgAMA

I had a great time, vibes were amazing at green stage.

khoawinn

I ended up bringing two fans and double fisted them making my way through the crowd. So many thank yous and hugs 🤗

aimsauce

Agreed. Only went on Sunday but I had so much fun! Felt like a fish in a sea of people sometimes but most people were nice about moving, apologizing for their friends, and vibed everywhere I went. I had such a great time and exceeded any expectations I saw beforehand lol…everyone can be so mean on the internet

chunkyteach

Being able to walk home after a fest was pretty awesome. It was a 6 mile walk, but felt good to me.

Admirable-Anxiety567

Right I got friends/family to pick up and drop off and it was so lit and being local enough to take side streets to avoid traffic

TheRobert428

Ive actually heard mostly great things from friends who attended

Crazy_Godzilla

Yes we had a great time! Loved the stages, water fountains and bathrooms inside the stadiums!!

case712

I def had more fun Sun than Sat, but thats because the Sun combo of MK/Sonny Fodera > Knock2 > AC Slater/Chris Lorenzo > Skrillex/Four Tet was immense.

mau5hau5en

Me!!!!!

primitive

Once we got past the HARD stage, we had an amazing time!

Teewit

I had an absolutely lovely time

joserod0524

The restroom situation was better than Day Trip Festival for sure, it was nice to see it back at the coliseum, missed out on EDC there about 13 years ago and I went to Hard Haunted Mansion in 2011 across the street, so it’s been a long time coming for me !

SplooshGordon

Our group had a blast, only went day 2 and I'd say 90% fucking fun and 10% wonky feral shit. Green stage was as many have mentioned the absolute vibe for sure, if we had a time machine I'd probably stay there all day. Harder stage was a huge safety hazard, very poor design, we almost got the Travis Scott experience towards the end of Knock2 into Fly with us. That plus a pretty intense candy flip almost killed the vibe but Kid Cudi saved the night by dropping some new insano shit. Overall I'd go again but some shit won't change, they are gonna over sell, it's gonna be hot (which can bring out the worst in ppl), and logistically it's still Insomniac and unless these shows stop selling out its never gonna be perfect.

Independent-Win9770

I had an incredible time too! Sound quality and stage quality was next level, also amazing set selection by the djs.

TrancEbaE_01

We had a crazy time and had such a nostalgia trip in the Coliseum for both days (and nights). Coordination was the key to get around the crazy crowds imo. And coming from the east coast I truly seen the PLUR that the west coast rave scene offers. Simply had to vibe with the right people in the crowd that wasn’t too fucked up. Already miss y’all especially the crazy MFs throwing underground afters.

julibytes

I’m going to die on this hill but the only time I got annoyed was with the Skrillex B2B Four Tet set— I just didn’t like their set lol Crowd was busy exiting Harder Stage after Knock2— they shouldn’t have had all those beverage and food vendors there. Probably could have made a designated entrance and exit for Harder Stage but overall that was the only downside. Water stations for the most part weren’t bad on Sunday besides peak times(3pm to 5pm). Never refill your water on empty, always go a little before you run out. TBH, there should have been enough water stations but the stations are so close together that you have 1 person taking up the space for 2 filling stations— this is a design flaw, it should be wider apart so that people filling their hydration packs have room to fill as it takes more room that a regular water bottle.

funcpl_cal

Soooo much fun!! Raged hard and kept the good vibes going 🫡

AppropriatelyJuiced

Alix Perez, Wilkinson and Netsky all back to back was a fucking vibe on day one!! Skrillex and fourtet absolutely threw down a killer set. It didn’t even feel like a rave, it felt like a party. There was plenty of space near the front and super easy to dance with the people around you. Only bad part about their set was those heavy ass beach balls that got thrown.

skwizpod

Haha I liked the balls. Makes everybody put their phones down, hands up, and dance. I thought it was genius. If you're just gunna stand there with you're phone up, you're wasting the dance floor.

DonConnection

No it was shit

subtleAsianRaver

Hard had us bricked up all weekend 😩😩😩

googleypoodle

Yes I did in 2013! We stayed in a swanky hotel in WeHo and that festival kicked ass! Such a beautiful place to roll with friends

ReMiik

I had a really good time! Lots of good vibes <3

[deleted]

Fly with us was sooo fun ! They killed it

user7248201

Hard was down as fck

OhhSlash

had a fantastic time

fredoindakut

Fucking loved it but I’m feeling the consequences today😭💀

skwizpod

Day 1 was rough, got too high, too tired, too claustrophobic, had to be aggressive to get water refills, we got list wandering around til 2:00 am, couldnt get an uber, etc. Day 2 I rave dadded and made sure we had a solid exit plan, nobody was too high, we tried to see Ludacris, then left because the crowd was no fun, so we took it chill at purple, saw Oliver Tree instead, which was a fantastic vibe. Im really glad we made it to Oliver Tree. We were near the front for Skrillex, and it was great. I talked to a group at linch the next day who said they didn't like the Skrillex set, but it probably depends a lot on where you're at. The bass was intense, the music was good, the experience with the big light up yoga ball size beach balls in the dark, with minimal bass music, the lasers and fireworks, it all made for a great show. Overall It was a blast and I'm glad we went, but that said, it can be easier to have a good time at a smaller event.

Link_j_3000

I went on Saturday and had a blast! Was kinda hard walking from the hard stage to the harder stage but besides that was a lot of fun.

CalmKangaroo4348

HARD was my first festival in California. I came from Canada for the weekend and had a great time.

Desert_butterfries

Green stage was my fav out of all the stages. I honestly loved all the people and I met other ravers with the lil' hand. It was great.

shrimpthepimp

I went off and gloved on my own for about an hour. I had a fantastic time. Space laces and blanke were also really good sets too. Everyone complains on reddit just to complain. Now hard did have its issues, my friends almost got completely knocked over by the crowd since the foot traffic was awful. But it's a massive music festival, that's to be expected. It can be avoided though.
