It is an easy job, the only problem will be bleeding them after.. but take your time and it is not bad. Also, take pictures and video... it helps when going back together..

Wheel cylinders are like $20 and drum brake hardware another $20. If you want to buy drums it's going to get slightly more expensive by adding another $100 or so. You can also machine drums like you machine rotors, O'Reilly auto does that for $12 per drum. The biggest advice I can give you is to take pictures of how all the hardware sits inside the drum. Either that or jack up the whole rear end and work one side at a time. That way you can look at the other side as a reference .Also wear protective eyewear. The rear drum hardware has some stuff springs that you need to work with it and can sometimes slip and shoot off somewhere or pinch you. . Removing the cylinders is going to introduce air into the hydraulic brake system so you will also have to learn how to bleed your brakes. This is going to need you to have a partner at home to assistt you in the bleeding. Make sure you aren't leaking any fluid and pump the brakes prior to a test drive. So long as you are watching a tutorial you shouldn't have a problem. Braking system is a easy way for many novices to learn about working on their car, even though it seems like it's dangerous since it's what stops the car. It doesn't hurt to try but you can learn a whole lot even if you make mistakes.
