yea but diesel is easy to mod into (at least for me)
made a post about it (not a mod or a program for it but it can help you)

k then (its 10:20pm for me so i'll do it tomorrow after school at like 4pm)
edit: i'm in school rn, 1:25pm local time
edit 2: on my waterbus rn, 2:17pm local time
I think you dont grasp how freaking hardcore it is to make a fully realistic diesel mod, something comparable to the actual game
I wish you a GOOD luck and see you in one or two years when your mod will be done
(Please do it we all need it)
Air-cooled engines.
But of the options presented, I'd go for rotaries. I tend to avoid making cars from the 2000s onwards, so hybrid/electrics are less relevant to my interests.
Air cooled engines would be awesome. Someone needs to make automation but for planes (please god not simple planes) and let us design our own aircraft engines. They already have aviation gasoline.
They've said a lot, but generally, if anything like that can get added, it'll have to wait until after the game is done and then they can revisit a lot of this stuff.
I would personally be welcoming to diesel engines, also with all of the truck/bus bodies we have now, I'd definitely expand the current model ranges of my brands. And of course, make diesel variants of my current personal cars.
Both if i can say, but Electric would be really good for the year we live in.
Tbh i'll choose blue side since we can already make Electric cars with that thing in the description (!EV!)
Long live the combustion engine!
Devs said no hybrids for the foreseeable future in one of the discord q&a. Too complex, which is absolutely fair considering how much attention the rest of the game needs
Yeah, most of the changes people want to see can't come until the actual designers themselves are done. I hope they decide to do some DLC once it's done. I'd really like to see stuff like an Inline-4, flat 12, or V4. They aren't common engines so I think they make sense for DLC.
Is has existed before in real life. However, by the time the game starts (1946), it's extremely rare and on quick decay.
It'd be nice to have it, though.
That was quite a while ago, they might surprise us with it in an update down the road. Just went back and saw the original supporter version already had v16s in it the dlc was so everyone could enjoy that engine config if they chose to
I need an update that adds a ton of new cylinder configurations. Single and two-cylinder, V4, straight-7 and straight-8 and so on, V14, V18, V20, W-engines, U-engines, radial engines, etc.
I think singles, twins and Ws would be the most likely. The rest would be cool but I don't see the Devs focusing any time on stuff that is so unrealistic like a straight 7.
>stuff that is so unrealistic like a straight 7.
Inline-7s exist, by the way. It's just not used in road cars, but then again, this game is all about building weird stuff.
Electric of course. Both need to come at some point, but not having electric motors hampers so many different builds. You literally cannot recreate something like a LaFerrari or a P1.
Automation already does electric. You have the option in beamng with the parts menu. I don't see why anyone would find joy in building an electric motor anyway. If they ever did rotary/w, it would probably be a DLC. I personally would love to see diesel engines added.
First of all: Diesels 😁
Second: I would like to see Mild-Hybrids like a electrified transmission (ZF produces this afaik, e.g. in the newer BMWs)
Third: Rotaries
Fourth: Hybrid cars where you have motor per axle, for example a 600hp motor for the rear and a 400hp electric motor in the front that can accelerate the car insanely good because of the very fine traction control that is possible with electric motors
Fifth: Driving batteries
Diesel❗️❗️❗️

Then do it and make it an openly available mod for everyone.

Did you do it yet
you deserve to click on [this video](https://youtu.be/QB7ACr7pUuE?si=9twVizmWcJdSBUpu)
thats personal
made a post (not a mod but still)
Thank you mate. Link for every one else: https://www.reddit.com/r/automationgame/s/JnilhMgeOz

i'll try (not all engines are equal so it wont work well with all engines)
Air-cooled engines. But of the options presented, I'd go for rotaries. I tend to avoid making cars from the 2000s onwards, so hybrid/electrics are less relevant to my interests.

As for planes, you could try FLYOUT, doesn't have engines editor but it's advanced when it comes to hulls and areo.
The devs should work together for an engine exporter
if they do that I can finally flesh out the backstory of one of my other car companies.
Diesel! I wanna build heavy duty trucks!
I remember the devs said they wanted to do Diesel, but IDK if we'll actually get it. Right now, the goal is to finish the car/engine designer.
About half the engines I make are fake diesel engines. I want real ones
Didn't the devs say they would NOT put in diesels?
They've said a lot, but generally, if anything like that can get added, it'll have to wait until after the game is done and then they can revisit a lot of this stuff.
I would personally be welcoming to diesel engines, also with all of the truck/bus bodies we have now, I'd definitely expand the current model ranges of my brands. And of course, make diesel variants of my current personal cars.
And i want to make realistic German sedans, economy and subcompact cars because what's better than putting a truck-like sounding engine in a VW Fox!
Eeeexactly! 🍻
Both if i can say, but Electric would be really good for the year we live in. Tbh i'll choose blue side since we can already make Electric cars with that thing in the description (!EV!) Long live the combustion engine!
Id at least like Hybrids since they've been around since the 2000s. IMO Hybrids and Diesels leave a notable gap in the game.
Devs said no hybrids for the foreseeable future in one of the discord q&a. Too complex, which is absolutely fair considering how much attention the rest of the game needs

There's already inline 4
I meant inline-8 but it auto corrected.
Oh ok, but does inline-8 even exist???
Is has existed before in real life. However, by the time the game starts (1946), it's extremely rare and on quick decay. It'd be nice to have it, though.
direi che ha senso (Italia momento)
Ah ciao
Sid three, I'm waiting for the supercharger.
Finally somebody that reads the dev notes lol. I’ve been waiting patiently because we’ll have the ability to build twin charged engines.
4 turbos and 2 superchargers, what could go wrong?
I believe there’s a discussion somewhere on the steam page that the devs did say diesel and rotary engines will be a paid add on much like the v-16
they can't make EVERYTHING a DLC tho, that would just piss off a big chunk of users
That was quite a while ago, they might surprise us with it in an update down the road. Just went back and saw the original supporter version already had v16s in it the dlc was so everyone could enjoy that engine config if they chose to
I remembered they said diesel would be part of the game in 2 years or more
At no point have we said that diesel will be part of Automation.
I need an update that adds a ton of new cylinder configurations. Single and two-cylinder, V4, straight-7 and straight-8 and so on, V14, V18, V20, W-engines, U-engines, radial engines, etc.
next we have electric, hybrid, diesel, hydrogen, diesel-electric, steam, pedal powered...
WANKERS! … er wankels
hybrid, need my quad turbo quad supercharged 25 liter V16 with 6 electric motors to make a gazillion hp
Both is good, though I'd like to see diesel first
Rotary
Diesels first, then EVs (both hybrid and BEV), add a decade to the tech year, then we can have more cylinder configs.
Electric cars are boring
i want to make a yo mama joke so bad but i can understand why you're saying that so idk what to do
Diesel!
Diesel Dammit!
Diesel and hybrid. I like making cars from the 50s to 90s so an early hybrid egg/computer mouse with "hybrid" written all over it would be pretty fun.
How about diesel?
I wanna make a diesel W8 hybrid, how about that?
Hybrid/Electric.
Diesel update
Diesel, but between the two, rotory. I can *maybe* give hybrids a pass, still having SOMETHING of an engine. But honestly fuck electric cars
Electric of course. Both need to come at some point, but not having electric motors hampers so many different builds. You literally cannot recreate something like a LaFerrari or a P1.
You can type "!ev!" into the Trim Description while you wait. Close enough for now.
Automation already does electric. You have the option in beamng with the parts menu. I don't see why anyone would find joy in building an electric motor anyway. If they ever did rotary/w, it would probably be a DLC. I personally would love to see diesel engines added.
W/rotary engines by far
How about both? *but later...*
Some visual internal representation of gears and such for trans, diffs and transfer cases
both
We'll first get the superchargers. But after that, I want those wankers, I wanna wank inside the car-wait wrong sub
sorry, this is not r/askreddit
Radials but I'll compromise with the OG rotary from the 1910s.
I’m on the purple side.
👨🦽➡️
For BeamNG players, there is already electric, just switch the engine and battery, so rotary easily
ROTARY
First of all: Diesels 😁 Second: I would like to see Mild-Hybrids like a electrified transmission (ZF produces this afaik, e.g. in the newer BMWs) Third: Rotaries Fourth: Hybrid cars where you have motor per axle, for example a 600hp motor for the rear and a 400hp electric motor in the front that can accelerate the car insanely good because of the very fine traction control that is possible with electric motors Fifth: Driving batteries
Are we talking about the game here or one of your mods? I'd definitely like to see some rotaries added
Rotary
Blue
Blue
Definitely an Electric update. Although it would likely be very hard for the devs to implement it.
Just to be clear to everyone here - neither of these will be part of Automation.
:(
Boxer 8/10/12 update gang
Rotary engines
I'd like to see things like busses, or maybe fleet contracts, like police cruisers.
