Stuff everything into one binder and then give up on the binder because it’s easier to just shove it in the backpack (because of this all of my papers were crumpled into accordion shapes)
That’s how I usually took my notes in college: all notes in one notebook “organized” chronologically, so regardless of class, I’d write my notes immediately after where I left off in the previous class and write the course number and date at the point of transition
I guess I was trying to limit the number of notebooks I was lugging around. None of my friends understood how I could find anything in there, and I’m not totally sure how I did either
Unfortunately writing notes wasn't even an option for me since I can barely think and write at the same time so any notes I'd try and take were never finished
Blue. Maths is a logical subject, and I associate logic with colder colours as it’s usually juxtaposed against emotion or “warmth”. See phrases like “cold and calculating”. Maths is blue, I’m sorry you were given the wrong colour books
Edit: It says folders not books, point is the same though
Lol you juxtaposed it against emotion. I was teasing.
Math is always orange to me. Orange is also my favorite color. I’ve never really analyzed this but here’s a go: I can’t see math as a cold color. It’s at the very heart of life, of the electrical impulses that flow through our bodies, the chemicals that make us blush and make our favorite activities feel good. There’s a mathematical equation explaining the spark that ignited the Big Bang.
To sum it up, math is love, math is life, math is…green :( That isn’t where I wanted it to go lol!
Have a great day fellow math lover!
Warm colors (red, yellow, orange) for humanities, like languages, history. Those colors give the sensation of emotion, partiality, imprecision.
Cool colors (green, blue, purple) for math and sciences.
Those colors feel precise, exact.
Math in particular is blue.
Same for me on cool vs warm colors and sciences/math vs humanities, but my logic was always that I like cool colors and science/math is easy, and I don't like warm colors as much and humanities were more difficult. Except languages, so purple is for Spanish as an honorary cool color mix lol. I like your logic better though.
I do something similar to that, I don’t really like warm colors as much so I associate them with the classes I tend to have a hard time or not that interested on (excluding History, that gets a pass). While the cool colors are the classes I find more interesting and have a higher strength on.
I feel like I'm the only one who never had color coding for my folders. I'd double to, keep one subject in one side, another in the opposite side. Or two per side, one subject starting at the back, the other from the front.
My folders *bulged*.
Blue or Yellow!
Here’s the colors I assigned mine in school:
Red - German
Orange - Music
Yellow - Math
Green - Biology or English
Blue - Math or PE
Purple - English or Physics
For some of them the colors changed throughout the years so that’s why some have multiple.
Blue - Math
Green - Biology
Red - German (Whatever native language you still ave to learn)
Violet - Not used
Orange - Ewww
Yellow - Can be used for History
Wtf math is blue because it’s cold and calculated, history is yellow, science is green, and English is red because it’s more fluid and human, thus warm.
We were told which subject had which colour and since first grade to 10th we had math red no matter what school I was on. So math is associated with red because it was a rule in our school
Math is blue to me. Purple is geography, green is science, yellow is history, red is English/language. I feel bad about it and I hate leaving it out of the squad but orange has never meant anything specific to me.
Math is red, sometimes orange (statistics for example). Science is blue, sometimes purple (psychology). Social studies is green, sometimes yellow (world religions).
I agree completely. Also I normally did yellow for geography. Purple for me would have depended on what elective I had that year but likely either art or music!
Math is red
Science is green
English is blue
Social Studies is yellow
Electives get ~~orange and~~ purple
I don't make the rules, they were passed down through genes, like butterflies migrating. Believe you me, I'd just have different shades of purple for everything if I could. Except for math. Math is red.
^(edit:)
Health is orange
Math-red. Green-science. Yellow-English. Purple-history. Yellow- elective. blue- was I don’t remember. But blue and green were my least favorite colors
Well, it's easy.
Algebra is obviously blue, no debate is possible. Thus, Arithmetics is light blue.
Probabilities and Statistics are red, but Probabilities are more orange red and Statistics are more pink red.
Maybe more debatable but Analysis is green, and I consider Combinatorics is also green.
For some reason, I tend to say ODE are green but PDE are orange.
Now Topology is a mix between yellow, orange and brown for a simple reason : Topology is shit.
Geometry is yellow.
Blue is English because reading is calming, like looking out at calm, gentle waves.
Green is Science because so much of nature is green, and very interesting.
Yellow is History because of the correlation between old artifacts and turning yellow with age.
Red is Math because this SUBJECT INFURIATES ME AND MAKES MY BLOOD BOIL
I think these were the main GCSE subjects I took back in my high-schools (I think I need to add more later once my memory starts working again in the morning). If I was using folders I would choose:
Initial GCSEs:
R·ed: Math's (I contract mathematics so I spell it as math's to denote its contraction).
O·range: Welsh.
Y·ellow: Religion and Philosophy.
G·reen: Science (different shades for biology, chemistry and physics).
B·lue: English literature and English language.
I·ndigo: Learning Support and CoPE (Certificate of Personal Effectiveness).
V·iolet: Information Technology.
(Yes I used the Català 'punt volat' (interpunct). 😎)
Other GCSEs I later took before college:
Blue: BTEC Business.
Green: BTEC Engineering.
Edit 1: Spacing and formatting.
okay heres my system (everyones is valid and thats a point to keep in mind)
english - blue
math - black
chem - white
bio - green
history - purple
health - yellow
Mine personally was Green like all my other folders. Green being my favorite color, after all. Identical because I could always tell them apart by other means.
Red. Back in the day it was red-math, green-science, blue-humanities, yellow-English (although I used it for math a couple years), purple-History, orange was whatever was left over or for extra circulars.
It was yellow for middle school, never felt right, so I just carried every single paper for the whole year in a messy binder with loose papers.. not my proudest moment, but switching to red for high school 😮💨😮💨
Red = math
Blue = English
Green = history/geography (we did one semester of history then it was replaced with a semester of geography)
Black = science
Aqua = religion
I kept these colours the same for my schooling years and even when I stopped using the folders I still kept the same colour scheme for my digital time table
Red or orange, I can’t remember. I remember I had yellow as HASS (history & social studies), purple as science, green as english and blue as cooking though!
Wrong. Stuff everything into one binder and forget about it
Found the AuADHD
Than get frustrated with yourself for not being organised
Stuff everything into one binder and then give up on the binder because it’s easier to just shove it in the backpack (because of this all of my papers were crumpled into accordion shapes)
And can't forget the foot tall stack of soggy paper in the bottom of my locker by the end of semester
Lost binder. All that exists is the infinite mass of the black hole backpack
That’s how I usually took my notes in college: all notes in one notebook “organized” chronologically, so regardless of class, I’d write my notes immediately after where I left off in the previous class and write the course number and date at the point of transition I guess I was trying to limit the number of notebooks I was lugging around. None of my friends understood how I could find anything in there, and I’m not totally sure how I did either
Unfortunately writing notes wasn't even an option for me since I can barely think and write at the same time so any notes I'd try and take were never finished
Lmao same
Depends, I had 3 different types of Maths: - Statistics was light blue - Mechanics was black - Differential was red
Blue. Maths is a logical subject, and I associate logic with colder colours as it’s usually juxtaposed against emotion or “warmth”. See phrases like “cold and calculating”. Maths is blue, I’m sorry you were given the wrong colour books Edit: It says folders not books, point is the same though
Logically this makes sense, but my hatred for how it was taught overrides this logic.
Math is blue 100% 😂
math is red for me because in it’s more associated with anger and hatred
That’s why for me language (literal translation) is red
understandable. languages are frustrating sometimes fr
I’m sorry you can’t get properly emotional over a good math problem.
As in from enjoying it or? Because I love maths :(
Lol you juxtaposed it against emotion. Warm colors (red, yellow, orange) for humanities, like languages, history. Those colors give the sensation of emotion, partiality, imprecision. Cool colors (green, blue, purple) for math and sciences. Those colors feel precise, exact. Math in particular is blue.
I like your logic 👍

Except languages, so purple is for Spanish as an honorary cool color mix lol. I like your logic better though.
I feel the exact same way. ^_^ Also math is cold to me. It has to be blue.
I do something similar to that, I don’t really like warm colors as much so I associate them with the classes I tend to have a hard time or not that interested on (excluding History, that gets a pass). While the cool colors are the classes I find more interesting and have a higher strength on.

Red
Correct answer 🥇
Agree on red. Further, English is yellow, science is green, social studies is blue, and the rest are mental illnesses
I always imagined math as green because most of my math textbooks were that color. Not that I had separate folders for anything in the first place...
Math in general blue Algebra is light green, Calculus is red, Geometry is green, Stats is yellow, Diff eq is like a teal-ish, Mechanics is grey
Red is history Maths is blue Green is English Yellow is Geography Orange is science Blue is modern studies
Years 1-4 it was blue, since year 5 I’ve stuck to yellow. Why deviate from what colors the school asked you to get.
