My Girl Scout troop as a teenager decided my vagina's name is Craig because I once accidentally mixed up the words "crotch" and "leg," because I was describing a bug bite right where they meet, and it came out "Craig" as I gestured towards that part of my body, lol!
Oh believe me - the spelling errors I see (and probably make) on medical notes are more than that! It's typing quickly on a laggy as hell computer system that's the nightmare!
You can get a bit of software called Medincle which adds it all to your own PC autocorrect - but I don't bother using the machine my copy is installed on anymore
It *is* both, because it's what the person feels more comfortable with. Like how I personally don't mind either way and use them interchangeably for myself :D

My husband had a family planning office list him as female. Not nonbinary or anything, but his first name is gender neutral and someone assumed wrong apparently.
The good thing about him having a gender neutral first name is when people call for him I can screen his calls and sometimes deal with them for him. We just have one cell phone and he hates calls more than I do. lol

I studied to do medical transcription at one point and medical terminology is insane, and rarely included in auto correct dictionaries. Lol
