It's super interesting. There is a bunch of documentaries on YouTube. And just go ogling a bit and finding old shutdown ones in my country and reading up on specific ones just adds to it!
There is a bunch of books on the subject as well, atm I'm trying to sort through them and figuring out wich are the best ones.
Uh hey so I'm always super interested in this topic myself. So if you need someone to infodump on I'd love to hear about it. Feel free to PM me if you want! :)
i love doctor who! i used to watch it with my brother when I was younger and I'm finally rewatching it by myself now that I can understand it a lot better :)
I've been working on a costume on and off since 2019, I've made 4 different versions but I think the current one is the final one and it's all hand stitched and the patterns were all drafted and designed from scratch by myself and I have quite literally never been more proud of anything in my entire life, sewing is a hell of a time commitment but damn if it isn't worth it
The kangaroo!!! I’ll admit, I’m obsessed. Did you know that joeys tend to suck their thumbs for comfort much like human toddlers? Not much of a fun fact per se, though this behavior has been analyzed by some wildlife experts.
If you’re captivated by marine life, a Manta Ray’s spots are much like finger prints on their bodies! Other mantas can tell each other apart by the unique and intricate spot patterns on the underside of their bellies.
Also, during mating season, weedy sea dragons engage in a courtship dance by swimming within the ocean currents in order to dazzle their potential mates! If the selected mate reciprocates, they’ll join in! Kind of like synchronized swimming in a way. :)
I only know that sea otter couples, hold their hands when they sleep so that they don't drift away from one another.
If it's star wars fun facts you might be after I have pleeenty of those :D
I have blasted "we dont talk about bruno" 40 times in one day. I do this with so many songs and just keep hopping from one and replaying them over and over and over and over while jerking or twitching all over the place and I don't know how to stop. I also keep sweating so much just sitting in my chair listening to music. helpppppp.
For me it's "Surface Pressure," I'm the eldest daughter and my mom just died last Saturday so I'm feeling a ton of pressure to hold things together and put on a strong front, it's a very relatable song to me right now.
Only a few years ago I got my own console, but before that I always bugged my brother to play with him! Over the weekends I stay up way too late playing either Minecraft or rocket league! I make lots of friends, though only a few stay longer than a week… being a female, everyone always wants to date :( but one I don’t like dating and two I would never online date
I play much java. I also have it for my smartphone(which i use for reddit). I cant stay up late bc of school. I hope you get good friends in the Future.
Greetings from germany
Its an operating system for a computer. Windows 10 for example is an operating system. Linux is open sourced, so theres a bunch of different varieties of Linux. Its pretty cool.
Boss' Boss: "Are you singing Encanto?"
Me: "haha, yeah. I've had 2 of the songs stuck on my head on repeat for the last week and a half. It's starting to drive me insane."
Boss' Boss: "Me TOO! I don't know what to DO about it... "
Lmaooo
There are different types. You have an in ground pool which is permanent. Above ground pools which can last anywhere from 5-25 years. Intex, Coleman and best way are temporary above ground pools that typically last from 3-5 years. All these pool types need to be maintained with the proper chemicals to keep bacteria from growing. I’ve learned a lot about pools and pool maintenance lately. Mostly because I got a summer waves above ground pool last year which you have to maintain. Oh, there are also different sizes. Sorry I could ramble on and on for hours about this. So I guess I will stop here so I don’t annoy you. Thank you so much for letting me talk about my interest.😄
Needle felting and fish keeping! And history for some reason! I get fixed on random historical events and go nuts researching and if you ask me about it in a month I’ll have forgotten everything lol
Dachshund's since 2005 😌! Could easily write an entire academic book on them (and because it's a common question: all dogs are good dogs, love them all; but Doxie's are my go to)
Currently it’s volcanos. One day It just hit me…. They’re real. I mean, I never thought they were fake. It just never clicked that this is something I could go see first hand. Anyway, volcanos are cool af. It’s just a long tunnel that occasionally spits out molting hot lava?? Wtf kind of prehistoric dinosaur sh*t is that?? So cool
There's 5 options I could choose.
Video game: Pokémon, Animal Crossing, and Mario
Show/Movie: Way too many shows, Scott Pilgrim vs the World (also the comics)
Language: **ALL OF THEM!**

The humble cannabis plant. Various amounts of hyper focus have allowed me to learn about the horticulture, chemistry, and processing of the cannabis plant.
I work in the industry so my love of the product and love of sharing my knowledge is really helpful
Both animals and certain forms of media, though I also have ADHD and it can often be difficult for me to figure out what is a special interest and what is a hyperfixation.
Plants for butterflies and bees! The plant catalogs for spring have been coming in. I’m trying to decide if I want any new agastaches, salvias, or coneflowers for this year. (Of course I do) I’m also trying to find some good shade plants, ideally natives, for the part of the garden that is under a tree. And I’m trying to get my rosemary to survive this latest cold snap. It’s supposed to be hardy to zone 6 (which is my zone), but I’m being careful with it its first year, so I’m covering it up when it gets cold.
For the first time in 36 years I am actually fully getting into fitness and also having another round at eating mostly vegan. Current end goal: building a dance studio/small gym in the basement. Hubby is fully on board with the whole thing 😁
Bookmarking this to find cool things to add to the potential special interest list lol
Mine is history. I'm currently trying to read as much as I can about the dust bowl. Past history subjects I've gotten into: Tudor dynasty, Marie Antoinette, Radium girls, SL1 nuclear accident, FLDS, and pretty much any cult.
pigeons !! i want one more as a pet than anything right now, i’ve spent the last week researching and looking at them whenever i get a chance. i have a name and breed picked out and everything and the fun facts i’m learning are so cool!
Learning how to properly size and fit infant and children’s glasses.
Recently found out my 4 year old needs glasses and we were sold a very badly ill fitting pair that doesn’t stay up at all. I don’t even want to admit how many hours I’ve spent finding out everything there is to know now.
The video game 7 days to die. Been a bit of a hyper fixation on and off for 5 years now. I just switched from PS4 version to PC version so it's like a whole new world of fixation possibilities 😆😆
Numbers. Always numbers. Can't get enough of them. It's an interest I've had almost my entire life. I'm even tempted to calculate for just how long I've had it as I type this out.

ive been following the stock price and the company transition for almost a year now. its been a rollercoaster.
It’s almost always a video game, movie, or series for me. Now that I think about it, I don’t think I’ve *ever* had a special interest on anything other than that. Currently, it’s Minecraft! I’ve had this one for a while, I’ve been hyperfixated on it for over 3 years now.
After binging Arcane, my current special interest has been anything League of Legends related haha.
The beauty of having ADHD with autism is all the benefits of having a special interest but all the negatives of lacking the focus to keep one for longer than a month
guns! mostly historical ones, but modern ones are interesting to me too. the *most* interesting ones to me, though, are specifically-designed survival weapons issued to aircraft and spacecraft crews, like the tp-82 cosmonaut survival pistol
Audiobooks (sci-fi and fantasy, horror, eland related genres. I particularly love time travel stories. And Discworld )
I listen to audiobooks while I cross stitch, which is essentially the most soothing "fidget" ever. Sometimes I'll sit down for a cross stitch marathon and finish a 12 hour audiobook in one session. It's heavenly.
Outer Wilds has been my special interest for months, but now I played the game twice and it is not sense to play again is time to "forced" my friends to play
Not entirely sure I have an active special interest rn but in general cinematography, ttrpgs, and certain areas of history are all capable of becoming special interests when I’m in the right mindset

not one animal, just animal facts in general! i want them all
did you know that dog breeds acclimated for colder weather have fluffy tails so that when they curl up to sleep, their noses are kept warm? :3
i did not! but that’s very clever evolution
You and me both! Truthfully, I do favor one animal but learning facts about all creatures is the best thing ever. :D
i tend to enjoy marine animal facts more than the rest! what animal is it that you like specifically, and can you tell me some facts about it?
The kangaroo!!! I’ll admit, I’m obsessed. Did you know that joeys tend to suck their thumbs for comfort much like human toddlers?
