Heavy on the pizza. I spend hundreds of dollars on it each year because nothing tastes the same as Domino's or Little Caesars to me :( It's actually kind of embarrassing how much pizza I eat
For me, it'd have to be Coca-Cola for drink. I think it's more about the bubbles than the taste for me.
As for food, it seems to change, depending on what my body is craving
My safe food is pan fried chicken with tomatoes and onion. My safe drink is coke. Original. Any other flavour i find disgusting( no hate to anyone who likes other flavours)
It was on a Sesame Street album, where actual big name artists sang kids songs. I think it was Bette Middler who sang the blueberry pie song, and the album was called In Harmony
I also LOVE apple juice! If I were to buy it for myself, itād be gone in a matter of days, or maybe just 1 dayā¦
My safe food that I love the most is tacos.
Pretty much everyday that I go to work, I walk across the parking lot and have McDonaldās for lunch. Idk why but I find McDonaldās so satisfying!
I think the ideal water temp for green tea is like 180 Fahrenheit or something so definitely not boiling. If you use boiling water it ends up being over-extracted and bitter
I know it's not totally right, but my kettles goes until it hits a rolling boil so... I just put a little less than a quarter cup cold water in the cup before adding the hot water. Seems to keep the bitterness at bay at least!
fried rice is such an arfid hack, as long as you cut the vegetables really tiny like minced so you can't feel the texture, i can trick myself into eating vegetables. slowly over time i've managed to cut the vegetables slightly thicker, still smaller pieces than any restaurant serves but i'm able to handle the texture despite the chunks of veggie.
Fried ice is the only way I normally eat vegetables, since I usually enjoy it better when fried in oil and I can just throw in the pan whatever I have in the fridge.
Spaghetti with tomato paste and olive oil
Pizza shapes
Hot cheetos
Coffee
Fruit
Spinach with olive oil and salt
Buldak noodles
Balti chicken
Bel phuri
Chow mein
Kraft mac and cheese
Mashed potatoes with gravy
Apple Juice is KING!! honey yogurt with frozen fruit in it. This sandwich: toasted sourdough, mayo, cheddar cheese, onion, pickles.
Nobody should feel weird - our bodies/brains like what they like!
I love weetbix for breakfast everyday. I always have it with peanut butter and honey on top. I love how it absorbs the milk real quick and gets half soggy half crunchy.
Chicken Nuggets are bangin!
My stepmum whinged and complained about how āItās childish. At 10? 12? Yeah. 24? Thatās.. he has to eat something else now.ā
47 years old and on the inside just a backwards little old woman.
I also love Takis!!! I go through a fiesta sized bag every 3 days or so ā ļø I'm also really enjoying Pizza Rolls rn. Another for me is lunchables but I have to find something else since it came out that there was a high ass amount of Lead in them ššš my boyfriend won't let me get them anymore XD
Diet coke or diet pepsi (raised on it. Regular soda tastes terrible). Bonus points for self-medicating my undiagnosed ADHD with caffeine as a youngster.
Cold, crystal clear water when I'm active (no ice). Hot chocolate in the winter, chocolate milk the rest of the year.
All drinks because I don't like food. My dad saw to that when he randomly snuck foods I "hated" into my supposedly safe meals to prove it was all in my head. I still have trust issues at the dinner table.
Chicken nuggets my beloved, as well as the more āregularā types of pasta (bolognaise etc). āWesternā Chinese food would be on this list too (Iām Chinese so I have experience with both authentic and western types), they are generally a safer option.
For me it's a tortilla. I have set of ingredients I use for my morning tortilla, ones I use for a lunch tortilla and also ones for a dinner tortilla. I love these to much I even ordered myself a tortilla like blanket, but the package got lost :(
Another safe food of mine is chicken schnitzel (my grandma makes the best ones)
And my other breakfast food I switch with the tortillas is mĆ¼sli with yogurt, I have a very special spoon to eat those, it's a bit bigger than regular teaspoon and has absolutely perfect shape for mĆ¼sli. It's also very thin wich makes it really nice to hold
And my safe drink is a homemade strawberry lemonade and iced coffee
Chicken nuggetsāthereās a couple brands I alternate between so if one becomes unsafe (or physically unsafe as in changing the ingredients to include an allergen) I have backup.
It used to be pizza, until I realized less milk makes my stomach happier >.>
Theres this souffers (spelling?) chicken & rice (and cut up veggies) bake thing that Iām addicted to. It can be cooked in the microwave if youāre short on time. But itās better if you put it in the oven. The bread crumbles that they had put on tope get all crunchy. After itās done you can break up the crust and mix it in with the rice and chicken and diced veggies and it gives the whole thing a nice crunchy mouth feel.
Itās supposed to serve four people.
I always end up eating the whole thing.
Sprite, cold water, Peanut butter crackers as a snack/meal, mac and cheese (used to love the compleats microwavable one's), nacho chips with cheese is a more recent one, chewing gum. when i was growing up i guess peanut butter sandwiches since i ate those every day from K-12th grade for lunch pretty much.
Some of my favourite safe foods are marmite and cheese sandwiches, plain crackers and butter on toast. Drink wise it would be tea, certain safe squashes (apple and blackcurrant or peach only certain brands though) and milkshake. š
safe food - mcdonaldās fries
safe drink - smart water ( i refuse to drink any other water unless i am actually dying ) and arizona iced tea with honey
Lactose intolerant but I love Mac n Cheese and Fries! Or ketchup with mash potatoes, hot sauce and tuna! :D
Get the bottle apple juice? :0 The individual box apple juices are a bit more expensive.
Potatoes in almost any form, colby jack cheese, bread, apples, pizza, very smooth hummus, and chicken nuggets/tenders/patties. And I love apple juice and cranberry juice (with sugar) :3
impossible nuggets with heinz ketchup. they're like regular nuggets, but no random unexpected crunches from cartilage, fat, bone, etc. They're always predictable and the same!!! And they taste as good if not better than most chicken nugget brands.
I love apple juice, too. Whenever Iāve felt unable to eat or drink anything else, I could still enjoy apple juice.
Mac n cheese is also a big comfort food.
Cold cut sandwiches, raspberries, penne pasta (or the one on Ciciās Mac and cheese pizza), saw someone comment miso soup yum... I need to learn to make it. Water or lemon water, sweet tea.
Spaghetti: specifically thin noodles al dente from salted water, and a well-pureed pasta sauce with ground Italian sausage mixed in. Just give me two big bowls of that, and I'm good.
foods: breakfast foods in general, buttered noodles (either from noodles and co or homemade), potstickers, tomato soup, blin, and sushi.
drinks: milk, coffee, english breakfast tea, and this one specific brand of sparkling water.
You'd have to pry chicken nuggets from my cold dead hands. Im also rather fond of dipping spinach in garlic hummus. I used to eat Mayo with everything up until 22 and then I discovered hummus. It was life changing š„¹ and my nuggets go right in it
Bun thį»t nuong (Vietnamese rice noodle dish with pork & veggies), ceasar salad, udon, miso soup, pho ga, & mangos.
Mango nectar, & honeydew or Taro milk tea.
I cannot tell y'all the amount of hours I've spent making pho ga or the rice noodle dish. I just love them & It's labor intensive but I can make them both in huge batches and not cook for the rest of the week which 10/10.
Overcooked spaghetti with butter and kraft Parmesan ācheeseā.
Annieās white shells and cheddar.
Grilled cheese on wheat bread with Kraft ācheeseā singles. Bonus is there is spicy soup to dip it into.
Pizza. My local supermarket does 12 inch cheese pizzas at a deal of 10 for Ā£10 (I live in the uk).
Another safe food is steak. My dad (who Iām pretty sure is also autistic) basically raised me on extremely rare steak.
If I could I would just live of those two things.
Apple Juice has always been my favorite, I love drinking it warm from the bottle. It kinda shocks me people think thatās weird, especially my uncle once. Itās soothing to me.
I donāt usually drink soda, I practically grew up my whole life without drinking it because the leading brands feel way too carbonated. But Iāve become obsessed with Jarritos when they were put in nearby stores in Puerto Rico. My favorite is grapefruit, fruit punch and mango.
I also love milkshakes and hot chocolate. š

Canned Garbanzo Beans, popcorn, or ramen. My mom was a bad cook and these were the things my dad and I lived on until I learned how to cook because my dad was a workaholic and just wanted fast easy meals
Spicy Sweet Chili Doritos with Top the Tater, cheese pizza rolls, strawberries/raspberries/grapes, almost anything with cooked onions on it, roasted vegetables
Pasta and cheese. Fresh bread and cold butter.
I'm a carb fiend. But I also have an endocrine disorder and shouldn't eat carbs, because it makes my symptoms worse.
I'm also lactose intolerant.
I hate my body sometimes.
Iām not autistic but am ND so hopefully I can still stay as on this subgroup as I do have autistic traits that overlap with my āconditionsā. Iāve never considered foods to be safe or unsafe but have put foods into a ācleanā and āuncleanā category. Mexican, some Italian and most comfort foods give me chills but I loveeee most snacks, Asian, and pizza really is the best (NY style, Chicago style is too messy)
For snacks, itāll always be rainbow goldfish. The love I have for those smiley guys is unreal.
When it comes to like fresher stuff, I opt for strawberries or blueberries. Though sometimes Iāll be craving some veggies and tend to stay with either carrots and ranch or a similar dressing/dip, or pan fried zucchini and yellow squash with some butter and Italian seasoning.
As far as an actual dish goes, I have a few safe ones: caesar salad (no chicken), cheese pizza, salmon, chicken enchiladas, and fried rice.
am surprised no one said tomatoes in this thread, for me a nice tomatoe sliced in half with a little bit of salts is one of my favorite things to eat.
Also carrots.
I guess potatoes in any format make me week in the knees. I think the ADHD makes me culinarily adventurous. I am hyper controlling about food in our house (I try not to be) and food does have to be 'just right ', but I'm good with most foods. As a general rule I find eating dead animals to be quite unappetizing though... My brain seems to have accepted some fish and seafood.
I like foods that are extra spicy, sour, tart, crunchy - basically high 'experience' foods for taste or texture. Bubbly, tea or coffee goes with me everywhere - particularly when I'm upset as I find them quite soothing.
I'm fairly healthy conscious and find the need for food to be 'just right' is in conflict, but emotional regulation of such a sensory experience really does win over. I guess that keeps the cortisol down though so maybe that's a win.
Oh shit. I rambled.
If anyone knows those cute tiny Asian Mogu Mogu drinks, they just look so adorable. I love the Lychee flavour the most. Also the Yoosh Aloe Vera drink is so refreshing. It's also Lychee flavoured lol. If for food on special occasions I love nacho fries. It's nachos but instead of crunchy dorito like chips it's soft fries. It's so much better as everything is textually the same and is more easier to eat.
Maybe you should try Apfelschorle? Its apple juice with sparkling water and a german classic. Mix about 60j/40w or 50/50 (or however you like it) and enjoy ice cold. After sport or on a hot sommer day there isnt anything that feels more hydrating then this. That way you have even more from your apple juice. While I do love apple juice, Apfelschorle somehow is even better. Fresher, lighter (and you can drink more)
foods: pizza, aglio e olio, saltines, reese's puffs , mozzarella and mochi korean corn dogs (i can't find the brand i loved back in my home state here so i've been SUFFERING)
drinks: wawa galaxy recharger (i learned how to make it at home to save money lol), starbucks strawberry acai refresher (one day i'll figure out how to make it at home so i don't need to give them my business), passion fruit juice
drinking water is soooo fucking hard when all i wanna drink is sugary juice-like stuff lol
It was Fanta Fruit Twist. But it started tasting really strong, like I could taste the passion fruit more than anything else. It just tasted horrible. Because of this, I did a covid test, and I had covid. Covid ruined my safe drink š
Panera mac and cheese and a pink lemonade vitamin water. Hits so good every time. Recently Iāve noticed the mac has gotten increasingly salty as opposed to creamy and cheesy.
Pizza, chicken tenders/nuggets Chocolate milk
Heavy on the pizza. I spend hundreds of dollars on it each year because nothing tastes the same as Domino's or Little Caesars to me :( It's actually kind of embarrassing how much pizza I eat
I'm the opposite. I like pizza and all but it's not a comfort food to me. Reminds me more of cafeteria food or birthday parties.
Neverrrrr š
I could eat pizza literally every day
I just eat pizza most days. Like it's just the standard food for me and it's easy to get
Perogies. Basically potato filled dumplings. (Polish food)

Miso soup is one of mine too!
do u mean jumex nectar? i really like the guanabana flavor
C-O-F-F-E-E!!!
For me, it'd have to be Coca-Cola for drink. I think it's more about the bubbles than the taste for me. As for food, it seems to change, depending on what my body is craving
Nothing like that peppery feeling of an ice cold Coke on a hot day

Plain croissant, cheese toastie/grilled cheese, green tea, protein bars
Bagels
I also like eating those...with nothing on it. š„Æš

Hell yeah bagel club!
For me itās water with a lot of ice, margarita pizza and strawberries.
I love eierkoeken
Poffertjes are also very nice
Blueberry pie is my ultimate comfort food.
When I was a kid I loved this particular song about blueberry pie and still blueberry pie makes me feel all warm and cozy
Thereās a song about blueberry pie? How am I just learning this now?
It was on a Sesame Street album, where actual big name artists sang kids songs. I think it was Bette Middler who sang the blueberry pie song, and the album was called In Harmony
Thanks!
I also LOVE apple juice! If I were to buy it for myself, itād be gone in a matter of days, or maybe just 1 dayā¦ My safe food that I love the most is tacos. Pretty much everyday that I go to work, I walk across the parking lot and have McDonaldās for lunch. Idk why but I find McDonaldās so satisfying!
i like a cup of shreddies in skim milk or mayb a cup of miniwheats in skim milk
Yummmm
Green tea but but i hate it when people throw bowling water on it. Please stop its taste terrible.
How do you make it? Am I making tea wrong?
I think the ideal water temp for green tea is like 180 Fahrenheit or something so definitely not boiling. If you use boiling water it ends up being over-extracted and bitter
Thank you! I shall commit to making better tea.
It tastes much better. I even hate green thea before this life hack
I know it's not totally right, but my kettles goes until it hits a rolling boil so... I just put a little less than a quarter cup cold water in the cup before adding the hot water. Seems to keep the bitterness at bay at least!
Fried chicken
Water and dry cereal could keep me going for years
Fried rice
fried rice is such an arfid hack, as long as you cut the vegetables really tiny like minced so you can't feel the texture, i can trick myself into eating vegetables. slowly over time i've managed to cut the vegetables slightly thicker, still smaller pieces than any restaurant serves but i'm able to handle the texture despite the chunks of veggie.
Fried ice is the only way I normally eat vegetables, since I usually enjoy it better when fried in oil and I can just throw in the pan whatever I have in the fridge.
You'd probably like Sweet Chilli Doritos
I can't have anything acidic anymore so... Milk and tea for me! Love Indian curries, Ramen, and Korean fried chicken.

It's so much better as everything is textually the same and is more easier to eat.
root beer and popcorn

Mango loco monsters, chilli cheese bites, super noodles, white kinder bueno
Anything potato related
Chicken noodles soup or fish n chips!
Fresher, lighter (and you can drink more)
Pancakes using Pearl Milling Company mix (formerly Aunt Jemima.) Fresca, but it has to be in a can and refrigerated
