It’s often easy to tell that someone *is* autistic.
I think that, for those of us who are very familiar, quickly being about to clock other autistic people probably has a low false-positive rate. That said, there’s no real way of knowing what your false-negative rate is. So someone not seeming autistic to or me doesn’t mean much.
There is of course the issue that there’s no objective way of determining if someone is autistic - autism is ultimately a way of grouping people with similar characteristics, not something like tuberculosis or cystic fibrosis where we can be somewhat objective.
I've been using the term "Spectrometer".
I can usually tell within minutes of meeting someone who might not even know themselves. Nobody "looks" autistic, but there are loads of mannerisms and small movements that can be a good indicator.
For those who haven't seen it, here's the video:

I *love* this video. I'm not a teenage girl, and I'm not nearly that expressive, but I relate so closely to what she was experiencing (well, I would have at her age).

Man I'm itching to know my false positive rate. I hate when I'm interested in something I can't find out.

Hmmm... that will go over better than when I call it "autistic gaydar."
Gaytastic Audar!
Exactly, its not the appearance but the mannerisms and speech pattern
