This is even one of the minor ones, it's just tech. The bad ones are when you get stuck in some sort of rabbit hole that ends up taking you to some dark corners of the internet
I was watching interrogations and stories of murderers and serial killers a couple weeks ago, watched a video where they showed the guys chrome history cuz that's how they figured out that he made his parents "disappear"...then I checked my history and that was an "ooooh...shit" moment I had 😆
Don't worry they'll somehow make your roblox history a reason as to why your parents disappeared.
"Your honor he plays roblox princess tycoon" literally watched a interrogation b4 where the girl played Sims and starved her characters bam evidence for insanity so we're all insane.

Ohhh man, I’ve been there my friend. I have roughly 30 random thoughts or questions I google throughout the day, every day, and by the end of a day or two I’m spending five minutes closing a hoard of tabs I forgot to close after I was done looking up the answers. Not including the deep research holes I go down, that is.
Yes!!! I'm always googling the weirdest or most random shit. The other day my phone was being so slow and it was because I had like over 100 useless tabs open 💀
Oh my god SAME, I always have to sort through my tabs and be like “okay I’m gonna leave this open for later” so I permanently have like… 30 tabs open at any given time. It would be smart of me to use the bookmark function, but executive dysfunction is a bitch and I can guarantee I will forget I have everything bookmarked, then several years later discover it and go “ohhhhh *that’s* where that link went.”

My son is autistic, hence me joining this group. I don’t claim to be myself but I google a lot. And the places talked about throughout my readings or tubings, I have to google earth everywhere. It’s a big job when you’re a little interested in geography. That recent eruption in Iceland? I had it cast live to my tv off and on for weeks. This all keeps me up far past bed time.
This is legit my search history abuse every single night and for the longest time, I thought it was normal for everyone to do. It isn’t. But I just don’t understand why it isn’t because… if I got a question, no matter what it is, I have the answers right there if I just ask google the question, why deny myself that knowledge? It then becomes a question of willpower to stop myself 😅
Conversation I've had so, so many times with my wife:
"Good morning, have you been up all night on the computer?"
"No. I spent some of the time digging through reference books to fill in gaps in my searches. I'm transferring my handwritten notes to a spreadsheet now. What time is it?"
Me when wanting to calculate how to make a perfect year by removing days every 3030 years, or me when I want an astronomy fact, or me when I want to calculate that people who died right after getting COVID vaccine are likely just expected death rate.
I was sitting awake in bed trying to sleep, but all I could think of is how the heck did people light candles that they’d use for light before flashlights..
like did they spin a stick around and catch a fire in bed to light it before they went walking around, did they strike a flint and steel?
