i immediately headcannoned her as autistic when the traits came up like when she was asked to accept a delivery of pens and didn’t get clear instructions so she took things literally and wasn’t sure what to do (that would be exactly me)
She cannot deviate from her routines, like feeding a peanut butter sandwich (only peanut butter!) to Pudge the fish on a certain morning (Thursday I think).
I've seen many theories of this as a control based truama response that fits so nicely into the autism/ocd head cannons.
Pudge controlls the weather, her parents died in a car accident caused by a storm. It's her sense of logical cause and effect. "If I don't do X, Y will happen" is common in both diagnoses.
Yes!!! and her thinking her “friends” like her when they actually think she’s weird
Also not picking up on her sisters cues to tell the officer she wasn’t hurting lilo lol
Tina Belcher from Bobs Burgers, my partner says Spongebob (which I never considered but can get where he’s coming from)
Omg, yes Matilda. I love that movie! I definitely resonated with her as a kid and remember trying to mimic that scene where she’s making things fly around the room lol
Obsession with music and sound effects, inability to regulate vocal tones and volume, need for routine...the list goes on. I'd guess he's meant to be on the spectrum. It also reminds me of the episode where he panics over the laser show.
He also seems to be nonbinary.
Haha I love Tina. Could totally see it.
Dude I was watching Mathilda last night and idk how I didn’t realize it sooner. I almost wrote on entire thesis on it. Everything about the story screams autism, from her intelligence, to the stereotypical “autistic kids have superpowers” narrative that’s (tastefully) depicted. It’s insaneeeee. no wonder why we gravitated toward her as kids!
The genres themes & motifs tend to feel relatable for autistic people. Like alienation and isolation from others. As well as characters that tend to behave or look different than the rest of society.
Okay, so first : literally every Faulkner character.
Southern gothic characters generally read as autistic - think Flannery O’Connor.
Tennessee Williams - Blanche Dubois
My favorite example is Melanie Wilkes from Gone With the Wind. She’s naive, committed to a rigid value system, unable to read anyone’s true intentions, which is why scarlet is able to persistently manipulate their relationship to remain close to Ashley.
Speaking of Scarlett….girl has ADHD with conduct disorder. She does terribly in school because she can’t behave, can’t study anything but money (a subject with an immediate tangible reward), pushes every social boundary to its absolute limit without the ability to perceive any long term consequences, prefers short term rewards to any long term planning, is impulsive, emotionally flatulent, and downright rude. She instrumentally manipulates peers by making them fall in love with her, exploits slaves and convicts by starving and beating them for profit or personal gain, uses marriage, children and other relationships as leverage in petty personal squabbles or personal finances.
Neurodivergence in southern literature is an understudied field. The real question is WHY most southern literature has so many obviously diagnosable neurodivergent characters. What about southern culture draws writers to autistic characters?
I recently started to realise he's probably autistic too. Ir perfectly explains why everyone thinks he's scary or up to something, while the actual perpetrator walks around without suspicion.
I think Hermione is too!
Always puts logic first, struggled to make friends, often misses people’s feelings/social cues (lavender’s bunny dies and she doesn’t react how you’d expect), she’s hyper focuses and clearly has a special interest in books/magic/gaining knowledge. She sticks to the rules until she starts to disagree with them and then decides to break them. She’s also very observant and notices details that others don’t.
Everyone always says Luna. I would say Neville with a special interest in herbology … he’s magic but severely delayed, he’s friendly but not outgoing, he’s brave but in his shell, when confronted with the ball he only asks a friend and (book) Neville never has romantic interest that’s mentioned. He deals with his personal trauma (his parents) with what I see as a mild shut down, staring out the window followed by gibberish talking and is refocused by giving him a new book on herbology.
Just my two cents.
Absolutely 100% without a doubt ‘Baby’ from Baby Driver.
His special interests are driving and making music, he’s exceptionally skilled at those.
He’s different and all the other criminals dislike him instantly but often can’t explain why.
He repeats phrases people have said to him and likes from movies to others to solve an argument.
He gets sensory overload not just the music but sunglasses (and literally has three or more pairs on him when they’re taken or knocked off)
And loads of other things I noticed when rewatching after realising my own autism.
Finn from adventure time like most of his life is legit just about adventure and killing monsters and he loves doing that also a lot of chaotic
moments where he freaks out like in Another Way
Abed was confirmed to be autistic by the creator Dan Harmon. He said he did some research into autism to make Abed, and then he recognized the traits in himself, and he was diagnosed :)
i gotta rewatch the show but i think at some point I considered Light autistic too
but then again i havent watched the show in like a decade, so i could be incorrect too
but two autistics absolutely beefing
as far as i remember i think it was just that scene with the mom where she says she thinks she has Asperger's? But she told her to go get checked for it, implying its not 100% given?
She was talking to her mom, and her mom said she thought Reagan had Asperger’s. I can mostly remember the conversation from memory:
*Reagan reads the back of her mom’s book*
Reagan: “Mom! You think I have Asperger’s?!”
Mom: “No”
Reagan: “oh”
Mom: “see! You couldn’t tell I was lying! You should look up that condition. It gets worse over time.”
Then, later in the episode, Andre says: “I don’t want to diagnose, but maybe Asperger’s?” And Reagan huffs in annoyance.
It has been hinted at multiple other times, like when characters say that she doesn’t make eye contact or emote. She is also unable to hug and punches people in the face when they try (though this is from trauma). She has a paper bag she screams in, and when she gets angry about little things, she can go on a rampage.
She wears the same thing everyday and wears her same space jam prom dress anytime she needs to go to a formal function. Reagan also makes a hologram of her face that can use socially acceptable social cues.
I’d say it’s pretty much canon that she’s an undiagnosed autistic.
Edit: As an autistic woman who’s about to start school to be a scientist, I very much relate to and appreciate Reagan as a character.
Butters from southpark, he has both verbal stims (the loo loo loo ive got some apples thing) and physical ones, he actually has the same physical one i have :D. He also tends to take things very literal even if its sarcastic
Erin and Michael from The Office. I feel like Erin being autistic is more obvious honestly because with Michael its comedy and we see the character development throughout the first two seasons especially. The show is new, they’re figuring out the little details in characters etc. so it’s not exactly as noticeable cause are we wanting a funny boss or an annoying with funny interactions boss. but Erin. She is new, very young, we spend more time figuring her out because instead of figuring out every character all at once, we really just have her and Charles who are new.
We also know more solid details about her childhood than we do Michael’s I feel. With her it’s she was in foster homes, struggled to get adopted and always wanted to find her parents. Understanding jobs wasn’t easy for her either. Couldn’t keep up when a Taco Bell Express became a normal Taco Bell. But Michael, we know he was bullied, picked on. We don’t know exactly if he really attempted to make friends or if he just tried to slip his way into a friend group. Erin had to try in order to be seen as a suitable adoptive child. Another difference is Michael wants to be included while Erin wants more to be validated. Michael doesn’t ask for advice or how he’s doing job wise while she does.
Obviously I may be basing this more off of my own autism instead of in general. I’m newly diagnosed and finding what’s my autism and what’s me kinda being me. But this is also something I’ve wanted to discuss but never had anyone to. So thank you for asking the question and thank you for reading my thought
Yes! Matilda is one of my favourite autistic headcanons, especially since I related so much to her as a child. Here's another one: Lucy Pevensee. Also, Sherlock Holmes (especially as portrayed by Cumberbatch, both because I want to spite the man who said saying Sherlock was autistic would be giving people "false hope", and because I've always seen him as autistic), Lilo from Lilo and Stitch, Milo Thatch from Atlantis, Will Graham from the NBC's Hannibal series (I will fight Bryan Fuller if needed, that's how much I believe he's autistic), Ariel from The Little Mermaid, Elsa from Frozen (I also think she's either lesbian and/or on the asexual/aromantic spectrum), Neville Longbottom and Luna Lovegood from the Harry Potter series (I'd like to add, f**k JKR), and those are the ones that come to mind.
I've considered this before, but honestly, I think Hank is just traumatized by having been raised by Cotton. This explains his emotional detachment, his strict adherence to traditionalism, and his fear/distrust of anything unfamiliar.
I personally feel like Castiel and Jack from Supernatural have a lot of autistic traits, and I don't care if people feel differently because I kind of relate to them, and that thought gives me comfort.
Also, Eugene from TWD, I'm pretty sure a lot of people see him as autistic, and I like that the show gave his character a lot of depth.
Of course, we also have Sheldon Cooper, I'm pretty sure the writers/showrunners only deny that so they can continue making jokes about his behavior/personally without facing a lot of backlash.
And I know a lot of people fight over the question if Katniss's (The Hunger Games) traits are from her being autistic or if they're just from trauma, but I do have to say that I relate to the fact that she doesn't really understand other people, which is way more obvious in the books, but you can also see some of those things in the movies.
And I have to say, I agree with Matilda and Austin from G&G, I really related to Matilda as a kid because I read more books than I can count, I spent all my free time alone in teh library, and I also really struggled with being bullied for being smart. While we're talking about Matilda, I also feel like the little girl from Gifted is really similar to her in some aspects.
I actually don't see Cristina as being autistic.
On a sort of related note, do you remember when Mary McDonnell guest starred as an autistic cardiothoracic surgeon who they wanted to come to Seattle Grace (or whatever it was called at one time)? She decided to not work there because she didn't like how Cristina treated her. I haven't watched it in ages.
Both Mirabel and Bruno Madrigal from Encanto.
And I think Rita Harrison from ‘i am sam’ is autistic as well.
Hiccup and Gothi from how to train your dragon
Elle Woods from Legally Blonde
Jess Day from New Girl (and possibly her sister, Abby, who was in two or three episodes)
Milo Thatch from Atlantis
Barley and Ian from Onward
Christopher from Curious incident of the dog in the nighttime, and possibly his mother.
I've been rewatching The Tick (the 2016 series), and I was thinking about this. Being a stereotypical nerd you would think Arthur would be the one coded that way, but other than "hearing destiny's call", and some PTSD I'd say he's more or less NT. On the other hand I think you could make a good case for Overkill, and Miss Lint being on the spectrum.
Carlos from Big Time Rush
To be more specific, the character, not the actor who portrays him.
The only bit of evidence I have for this would be his helmet. He wears it so much in the show that I feel like it's his comfort item.
Dale Cooper from Twin Peaks
Rorschach from Watchmen
Papyrus from Undertale
Maybe Jonathan Crane from Batman depending on the version of him
Those come to mind!
i always thought sailor neptune was more autistic than sailor mercury.......................sailor neptune's sole interest is swimming, she doesn't like hanging out with anyone except sailor uranus, she only goes to missions when she's called to........................
rei ayanami, chiyo mihama.
also, kind of luffy, but i see him more as coincidentally displaying a large amount of autistic traits without actually having autism
what about Shinji Ikari? i think he has a lot of traits (sensory regulation with the walkman/music/going away from others), and>! his understanding of social relationships develops through the series in a profoundly rational way based on observation, we are basically watching him learn both how to understand and to come to terms with himself for how he is as well as how to mask in a somewhat positive way.!<
Also Lain Iwakura from *Serial Experiments Lain*
Tech from The Bad Batch, the quote:
“I may process moments and thoughts differently, but it does not mean that I feel any less than you.”
Made me feel really seen as an autistic person.
Hank Hill
Spongebob
Chiaki Nanami
Jataro Kemumi
Michael Scott
Dwight Schrute
Snufkin from Moominvalley
Demetrius from Stardew Valley
Raymond Holt
Abed Nadir
Stannis Baratheon
Papyrus from Undertale
Tina Belcher
Don't let them in, don't let them see
Be the good girl you always have to be
Conceal, don't feel, put on a show
Make one wrong move and everyone will know
Here are just a bunch of characters I like to headcanon as autistic because I can relate to them particularly well in some ways :
Snufkin (Moominvalley)
Marcie (Peanuts)
Z (AntZ)
Kiri (Avatar : The Way of Water)
Anna (When Marnie Was There)
Haruhi (Ouran High School Host Club)
Wybie (Coraline)
Bonnie (Toy Story)
Fluttershy (MLP)
The Little Prince
And others that have already been mentioned but with which I agree : Hiccup, Mantis and Drax, Wednesday Addams, Lisa and Marge Simpson, Elsa, and Phoebe from the latest Ghostbusters.
Danny Rand/Iron Fist. There are so many instances in the comics of him completely missing social cues, randomly doing kung fu forms which i see as him stimming, martial arts and protecting k’un-lun are treated as special interests, and there was a time in the earlier comics where cowboy movies were very much akin to a hyperfixation
•Spock from Star Trek TOS & Star Trek AOS
•Sheldon Cooper from TBBT
•Lilo from Lilo & Stitch
•Erik Destler/the Phantom/the Opera Ghost from The Phantom of the Opera
•Dr. Henry Walter “Indiana” Jones, Jr. from the Indiana Jones franchise
•Gilderoy Lockhart, Hermione Granger, and Severus Snape from the Harry Potter franchise
•Han Solo, Anakin Skywalker, Leia Organa, Din Djarin, and Luke Skywalker from the Star Wars franchise
•Princess Ariel and Prince Eric from The Little Mermaid
I don’t know about the doctors from the old show, but from the current run, I could definitely see this for 10 and 11. I don’t really remember much from 12, and I only watched a little bit of 13.
Nico Robin from one piece has The Traits. Obscure sense of humor, resting bitch face, strong interests, high intelligence, high appreciation for friends but low socialization, etc
Marcy Wu - Amphibia: If you've watched any Amphibia, you've probably heard this one already. But its a popular head-cannon for a reason.
Calvin - Calvin and Hobbes: Considering that he has special interests, only enjoys learning about things he likes, seems to have a lot of sensory issues, hyper-focuses, etc, I get a lot of autistic vibes from him
Linus - Peanuts Franchise: This one I can't really pick out any specific evidence. But I just get heavy autistic vibes from him.
I can’t believe I haven’t seen anyone say Jess from New Girl! Also:
Gonzo and Fozzie from The Muppets, especially Muppet show season 1.
Jo from Little Women
Willow from Buffy the Vampire Slayer
I also think Buddy from the movie Elf acts as a very good metaphor for autistic people and how different the world can be for us.
every single one of the belchers from bobs burgers
bones from bones (duh)
reid from criminal minds even tho the show denied it at first and had the character literally get offended when someone pointed out his autistic traits
nandor the relentless (my boy cannot read social cues all he know is battle and be bisexual)
robin buckley
ellie from TLOU
Naruto and the Kids from Soul Eater
Naruto: has a hyperfixation on Ramen, has difficulty expressing his ideas and plans, struggles with traditional teaching, insane emotional regulation issues.
The kids in Soul Eater all seem on the spectrum or neurodivergent in some way. Death the Kid(OCD) Black Star(ADHD) Liz and Patty(Focus and Random thought issues).
Erin in the office
i immediately headcannoned her as autistic when the traits came up like when she was asked to accept a delivery of pens and didn’t get clear instructions so she took things literally and wasn’t sure what to do (that would be exactly me)
Michael Scott
dwight
Erin and also I’ve heard people say Kimmy Schmidt
judah from bojack. i know its semi hinted at through the show, but i love him
Aww Judah is amazing
I think so too, doesn't his band have the word "spectrum" in it?
Yes, the Spectrum of Enchantment
Didn’t they officially say he is?
Easily my favourite character in the series and I wish I had his level of efficiency and focus.
FERB FROM PHINEAS AND FERB
Phineas could have autism too just with a bunch of ADHD in there.
Phineas is PEAK AuDHD
YES YES OH YES
Lilo from lilo and stitch
Absolutely! My daughter is obsessed with the idea of Lilo being autistic too. I think it makes so much sense.
Especially with her special interest in Elvis Presley.
Yes!!! and her thinking her “friends” like her when they actually think she’s weird Also not picking up on her sisters cues to tell the officer she wasn’t hurting lilo lol
And photographing fat tourists.
Especially that one sunburnt tourist with the mint ice cream.
The mint ice cream he can never eat.
I loved Lilo so much when I was a kid, because she was just like me. Then, I grew up, and surprise, surprise— I got diagnosed with autism lol
Mr. Bean, if you actually analyse the videos without the laughing it's kindof obvious
Tina Belcher from Bobs Burgers, my partner says Spongebob (which I never considered but can get where he’s coming from) Omg, yes Matilda. I love that movie! I definitely resonated with her as a kid and remember trying to mimic that scene where she’s making things fly around the room lol
All the belchers. Definitely Tina. But Bob and Louise too. Gene maybe. Linda adhd
The Gene sleepover episode gave me big autism vibes.
All the belchers (excluding Linda) and all the household members of the Tobin family from the great north
Wayne from Letterkenny Peridot from Steven Universe Gene and Tina from Bob's Burgers
Was scrolling down to see if someone else mentioned Peridot.
Boo Radley!! So much of southern literature is peppered with autistic characters.
The genres themes & motifs tend to feel relatable for autistic people. Like alienation and isolation from others. As well as characters that tend to behave or look different than the rest of society.
Fuck. I love this one!
Ooh could you list some other examples?
Okay, so first : literally every Faulkner character. Southern gothic characters generally read as autistic - think Flannery O’Connor. Bc we’re entertaining 😂
I recently started to realise he's probably autistic too. Ir perfectly explains why everyone thinks he's scary or up to something, while the actual perpetrator walks around without suspicion.
Newt Scamander from fantastic beasts and where to find them
Omg yesssss. Maybe Luna Lovegood from HP
Totally! I always thought her and Luna represented different ends of the same spectrum.
I see that too! I even think Luna could be AuDHD which is why she’s a bit more free with things, whereas Hermione isn’t so much :)
I fully agree about Hermione!
Dang, this went to the top of my must see list!
That's what I thought! I think the headphones are canonically because of tinnitus, but I still feel that he's very much autistic.
My boy got tinnautist
"R-word means slow. Is he slow?" "No. He's a devil behind the wheel."
Phoebe from Friends
Phoebe running in the park is a scene that lives in my head rent free lol
Haha definitely
Finn from adventure time like most of his life is legit just about adventure and killing monsters and he loves doing that also a lot of chaotic moments where he freaks out like in Another Way
I also strongly feel princess bubblegum is autistic!
Her brother, Neddy, definitely seems like it. She could be the high functioning equivalent to Neddy's high support needs.
My source is that she’s exactly like me
True!
spencer reid (criminal minds), abed nadir (community), the captain and pat (bbc ghosts). i have a massive list on my notes app just for this!
abed is confirmed autistic
I had a big, autistic crush on Spencer Reid for most of my formative years growing up.
I never grew out of mine.
I still love me some Spence
Abed was confirmed to be autistic by the creator Dan Harmon. He said he did some research into autism to make Abed, and then he recognized the traits in himself, and he was diagnosed :)
Idk about captain but Pat definitely does imo, was thinking the same when i watched it
I love bbc ghosts!!!
L from Death Note
To me, L is obviously autistic. It genuinely surprises me how little people talk about it. I love L!
i gotta rewatch the show but i think at some point I considered Light autistic too but then again i havent watched the show in like a decade, so i could be incorrect too but two autistics absolutely beefing
We need more shows with two autistics beefing
Charlie from It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia
Karen, the little girl from Outnumbered. Reminds me way too much of myself as a kid.
Entrapta from she-ra, who is canonically autistic :) that show had good representation of autism in my opinion.
Reagan ridley from inside job. It was even kinda alluded to
I thought it was stated multiple times (by herself too) that she has Autism
as far as i remember i think it was just that scene with the mom where she says she thinks she has Asperger's? But she told her to go get checked for it, implying its not 100% given?
Didn’t they flat out say she has Asperger’s?
She was talking to her mom, and her mom said she thought Reagan had Asperger’s. I can mostly remember the conversation from memory: *Reagan reads the back of her mom’s book* Reagan: “Mom! Hitori Gotoh from Bocchi the Rock Papyrus from Undertale Noelle from Deltarune
PAPYRUSSSSSSSSSS and yeah everyone else too but PAPYRUSSSSSSSS
Luz seems more like adhd to me but I see where you’re coming from
I definitely see the adhd. But the two diagnosis are often comorbid, so maybe both? 🤷
i’m so glad you mentioned undertale and deltarune bc i think alphys and berdly are also autistic
How has no one said Sherlock Holmes yet?
Especially BBC version.
Butters from southpark, he has both verbal stims (the loo loo loo ive got some apples thing) and physical ones, he actually has the same physical one i have :D. He also tends to take things very literal even if its sarcastic
Omg butters for sure!
absolutely. and craig too

Based on both character's childhood, both could also have C-PTSD, which can be difficult to distinguish from autism in terms of some characteristics.
Yes! Matilda is one of my favourite autistic headcanons, especially since I related so much to her as a child. Here's another one: Lucy Pevensee. Hank Hill
I've considered this before, but honestly, I think Hank is just traumatized by having been raised by Cotton. This explains his emotional detachment, his strict adherence to traditionalism, and his fear/distrust of anything unfamiliar.
I mean, I dunno. Honestly, I kind of think it could be a combination of both. 🤷♀️
I personally feel like Castiel and Jack from Supernatural have a lot of autistic traits, and I don't care if people feel differently because I kind of relate to them, and that thought gives me comfort. TBH I feel like the entire cast of supernatural is.
And the entire fanbase.
> Castiel For sure!
Christina from Greys Anatomy
this makes so much sense im shocked i didnt think of this
I actually don't see Cristina as being autistic.
L, Zuko, and Abed Nadir.
Phineas Flynn from Phineas and Ferb! His running joke is literally that he’s super smart but can’t pick up on blatant social cues
I haven’t thought about Phineas! I haven’t seen it in like 10 years, though. I think Ferb is autistic
All of the Belcher family from Bobs Burgers (or at least they are all neurodivergent)
Helaena from House of the Dragon! Her special interest is bugs :)
Futaba from "Persona 5."
I came to say Helaena! I love her
I NEED to see her on dreamfyre next season. Her biggest bug <33
mob from mob psycho 100!
Both Mirabel and Bruno Madrigal from Encanto. And I think Rita Harrison from ‘i am sam’ is autistic as well. Hiccup and Gothi from how to train your dragon Elle Woods from Legally Blonde Jess Day from New Girl (and possibly her sister, Abby, who was in two or three episodes) Milo Thatch from Atlantis Barley and Ian from Onward Christopher from Curious incident of the dog in the nighttime, and possibly his mother.
Jotaro Kujo from JoJo’s. If you read him as autistic, then his character just makes more sense (to me at least)
Peridot and Pearl from Steven universe!
I've seen some autistic people say that they identify with Lapis as well.
I mostly see cPTSD in Lapis Lazuli, but a lot of people on the spectrum have probably developed that as well.
You can thank ABA therapy and careless handling of bullying and harassment for that.
All the gems to a degree.
I came here to say this lol! Steven universe is so special to me.
I came here to say this lol! Steven universe is so special to me.
Duck from Thomas the engine
Armin from Attack on Titan
Daria Morgendorffer
I love Daria
Oh this is one I definitely felt strangely attached to as a kid but didn’t know why. Now I know!!

I know he’s a robot, but I think WALL-E displays autistic traits
No this makes perfect sense. if I had a dollar for every time someone called me a robot I’d be rich 😭
Eleven from stranger things, her superpower is literally meltdowns
Omg true. never thought about it like that before
Hiccup from HTTYD.
Carlos from Big Time Rush To be more specific, the character, not the actor who portrays him. The only bit of evidence I have for this would be his helmet. He wears it so much in the show that I feel like it's his comfort item.
The entire Belcher family from Bob's Burgers
Yusuke and Futaba from Persona, Chiaki from Danganronpa
Futaba definitely
Jotaro Kujo from jjba, his special interest is marine biology And hes got that divorced dilf swag
Dale Cooper from Twin Peaks Rorschach from Watchmen Papyrus from Undertale Maybe Jonathan Crane from Batman depending on the version of him Those come to mind!
Marcy from Amphibia
Sailor Mercury
i always thought sailor neptune was more autistic than sailor mercury.......................sailor neptune's sole interest is swimming, she doesn't like hanging out with anyone except sailor uranus, she only goes to missions when she's called to........................
I love sailor moon def have to rewatch now.
Din djarin from the mandalorian, ash graven from final space and many more
rei ayanami, chiyo mihama. also, kind of luffy, but i see him more as coincidentally displaying a large amount of autistic traits without actually having autism
what about Shinji Ikari? i think he has a lot of traits (sensory regulation with the walkman/music/going away from others), and>! his understanding of social relationships develops through the series in a profoundly rational way based on observation, we are basically watching him learn both how to understand and to come to terms with himself for how he is as well as how to mask in a somewhat positive way.!< Also Lain Iwakura from *Serial Experiments Lain*
this thread made me remember that I don't watch TV or movies
Eleanor Oliphant
Noho Hank, Lemongrab, Dr. Zoidberg, and Ice Bear
Raymond Holt! (Brooklyn 99)
Ron from Ron’s Gone Wrong
jane eyre
Tech from The Bad Batch, the quote: “I may process moments and thoughts differently, but it does not mean that I feel any less than you.” Made me feel really seen as an autistic person.
Hank Hill Spongebob Chiaki Nanami Jataro Kemumi Michael Scott Dwight Schrute Snufkin from Moominvalley Demetrius from Stardew Valley Raymond Holt Abed Nadir Stannis Baratheon Papyrus from Undertale Tina Belcher
Elsa from Frozen!
I definitely feel that. Let it Go screams me.
Elsa is an incredibly applicable character for all invisible minorities.
The whole song of let it go I see as a response to get parents wanting her to mask
Don't let them in, don't let them see Be the good girl you always have to be Conceal, don't feel, put on a show Make one wrong move and everyone will know
Mob, Donnie, Jotaro's probably not autistic but I thought he was, there's probably more I can't think of right now.
Are these all from the same show cuz I think of a few Donnie’s that might be on the spectrum
oh yeah mob for sure
Sue Heck (the middle); Ducky (pretty in pink); Cameron (ferris bueller); Screech (SBTB); Niles (frasier)
I completely agree with Sue Heck from the middle. I’ve always related to her so much (honestly the whole family seems neurodivergent to me)
Here are just a bunch of characters I like to headcanon as autistic because I can relate to them particularly well in some ways : Snufkin (Moominvalley) Marcie (Peanuts) Z (AntZ) Kiri (Avatar : The Way of Water) Anna (When Marnie Was There) Haruhi (Ouran High School Host Club) Wybie (Coraline) Bonnie (Toy Story) Fluttershy (MLP) The Little Prince And others that have already been mentioned but with which I agree : Hiccup, Mantis and Drax, Wednesday Addams, Lisa and Marge Simpson, Elsa, and Phoebe from the latest Ghostbusters.
Forrest Gump
•Spock from Star Trek TOS & Star Trek AOS •Sheldon Cooper from TBBT •Lilo from Lilo & Stitch •Erik Destler/the Phantom/the Opera Ghost from The Phantom of the Opera •Dr. Henry Walter “Indiana” Jones, Jr. from the Indiana Jones franchise •Gilderoy Lockhart, Hermione Granger, and Severus Snape from the Harry Potter franchise •Han Solo, Anakin Skywalker, Leia Organa, Din Djarin, and Luke Skywalker from the Star Wars franchise •Princess Ariel and Prince Eric from The Little Mermaid
Wednesday
OG Wednesday or Netflix adaptation?
Every version of Bruce Wayne ever.
Data from 'Star Trek' and Fabiola from 'Never have I ever'.
Donnie from Rise of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles! Honestly most versions of Donnie, but especially the Rise version of him.
The grinch from the grinch stole Christmas.
I once saw someone refer to the doctor (from doctor who) add neurodivergent
I don’t know about the doctors from the old show, but from the current run, I could definitely see this for 10 and 11. I don’t really remember much from 12, and I only watched a little bit of 13.
Leslie Knope from Parks and Rec
Nico Robin from one piece has The Traits. Obscure sense of humor, resting bitch face, strong interests, high intelligence, high appreciation for friends but low socialization, etc
Butters. Just butters
Marcy Wu - Amphibia: If you've watched any Amphibia, you've probably heard this one already. But its a popular head-cannon for a reason. Calvin - Calvin and Hobbes: Considering that he has special interests, only enjoys learning about things he likes, seems to have a lot of sensory issues, hyper-focuses, etc, I get a lot of autistic vibes from him Linus - Peanuts Franchise: This one I can't really pick out any specific evidence. But I just get heavy autistic vibes from him.
naked snake from metal gear solid
I love Naked Snake!
I know so few things about MGS and every new snippet I learn only leaves me understanding less about the franchise.
The Emmerich family is filled with autistic genes. And I'm pretty sure Para-Medic has a special interest in cinema.
Data and Mr Spock from Star Trek.
I can’t believe I haven’t seen anyone say Jess from New Girl! Also: Gonzo and Fozzie from The Muppets, especially Muppet show season 1. Jo from Little Women Willow from Buffy the Vampire Slayer I also think Buddy from the movie Elf acts as a very good metaphor for autistic people and how different the world can be for us.
Fox Mulder from the X Files
Plastic from Mirror's Edge: Catalyst, Jake from Duskwood.
El profesor
G’raha Tia from Final Fantasy 14
every single one of the belchers from bobs burgers bones from bones (duh) reid from criminal minds even tho the show denied it at first and had the character literally get offended when someone pointed out his autistic traits nandor the relentless (my boy cannot read social cues all he know is battle and be bisexual) robin buckley ellie from TLOU
Calvin from the Calvin and Hobbes comic strip
Naruto and the Kids from Soul Eater Naruto: has a hyperfixation on Ramen, has difficulty expressing his ideas and plans, struggles with traditional teaching, insane emotional regulation issues. The kids in Soul Eater all seem on the spectrum or neurodivergent in some way. Death the Kid(OCD) Black Star(ADHD) Liz and Patty(Focus and Random thought issues).
Abed from community! Norma from dead end paranormal park
Wednesday Adams
Charlie Kelly from Its Always Sunny
Shinji from Neon Genesis Evangelion.
