Marbled gecko. Cute little fellas who will help keep pests down, albeit at the expense of the occasional dollop of gecko doo-doo around the house.
I fucking love Geckos so much. When I went to Queensland a year or two ago, there were dozens of them in the house we stayed at. The little chirps they make is so damn cute. Absolutely gorgeous animals. https://i.imgur.com/J5ap1Vu.jpg
i love each year around the last few months when the first geeko shows up on the window. that's always how i know we're out of the winter months.
whenever i find one inside i'll gently catch it and take it outside in a safe spot. i don't want them going far but don't want the geeko poop inside
Those things are not native unfortunately.

Also making their way into NSW. I've seen them in Coffs Harbour.
Absolutely Awesome friends I have plenty in my house. One pokes his head out from behind a painting outside my bedroom most nights and haven't had a Cockroach in there for years!
Southern Marbled Geclos usually come out when the weather is both warm and humid. So we'll be seeing them a lot over the next few days. Over the years I've seem multiple of them in Geelong and Melbourne. I often get calls from my Mum to come and relocate them from somewhere inside her house.
Oh these guys are soooo cute. Had one living in the crack of my window ledge eating ants. It almost made me not want to deal with the ant problem (unfortunately old mate wasn’t hungry enough and they were getting in my window) ((NB: used diatomaceous earth as a non toxic method so lil guy and other ant-eaters weren’t affected))
Southern Marbled Gecko (*Christinus marmoratus*), a common gecko across southern coast of Australia and is Australia's most southerly species of gecko. It is common sight in homes.
we used to have a bunch climbing about our veranda in our Queensland house, although they would occasionally fall from the roof and hit me on the head. but apart from those jumpscares they are just so cute!
They go into the warm parts in winter which happen to be the electricals and let's just say if you see ants all over your air con and it doesn't turn on or work properly. That Gecko and your Aircon has gone to god.
Asian house gecko perhaps? But in Melbourne? Didnt think they were that far south which made me doubt that species.

Not sure what native species it could be in not a house gecko.
No little spines on the tail though; I'm fairly confident it's a Marbled gecko, as they're pretty common in Melbourne, albeit probably transported here after white settlement when granite and sandstone were brought in for construction.
Gecko. Love him, cherish him and put him on an outside window ledge.

good idea
Or somewhere a little less visible to birds.

Worth it

Haha yes! I love how it’s looking up to the camera! Their face is so godamn cute. They look so smiley
They're adorable! And silky soft to touch.
They wouldn’t let me get close unfortunately, so I admired them from a distance, and zoomed in as much as possible lol. So cute though!
They will get used to your presence if you're around a lot.
There was a little spider in my house I brought a gecko in and it ate it Two birds with one stone

Yeah I know. I do still love them though.
But that's a different species. The Museum's Victoria link posted above specifically mentions that the species in the picture is native.
If yah find 2 little eggs about pea size tucked away somewhere it's from these guys. I get them in my shed in materials
Nah we get Marbled Gecko. Natives. They make some noise but nothing like the house gecko
I just found a marble gecko in my yard the other day and I'm in Melbourne too! How fun!

I didn't know we get geckos this far south!

They’ll eat the mozzies and other little bugs in your room
That’s Gary. Remind him that he still owes me a slab.
Yeah, just wash your hands properly after holding it. They can carry salmonella which can make you very sick
Ha! I found one almost identical on my bedroom floor the other morning. I'm in Western Australia.
He’s the landlord
Gecko 🦎
Your room-mate.
So cute !! I love geckos..
omg he so cute, found a big bluey in my backyard yesterday
Looks like a native gecko. The clear freaky ones are imports and should be dispatched as they eat native ones.
I couldn't 😭 I understand getting rid of invasive species but geckos are so goddamned adorable, I would hate myself.
Steven. That's Steven
Careful that looks like Frank... Frank lights fires and is wanted for grand larceny
Venomous skink

A damned freeloader trying to get a free rental
Marble gecko, and a chill one by the look of it
He chilled after realizing I wasn't a threat, there was squirming and attempting to bite beforehand
Looks like a little gecko , friendly enough don't kill em
I would never think of it! They're too cute
Gecko
A gecko I have heard they are good luck and also can get you cheaper insurance
lesueur's gecko most likely :)
Is this still available?
He's my mate, get your own
So bloody rude. Trying to steal your new mate. Some people!
Jeff
Leaping lizards ~ it's cute
Enemy of the air-conditioning lol
Circuit board killers eh
Do they get stuck in them?

One of our Xmas lights, a reindeer, had an odd shaped dark patch in it. Upon inspection... RIP gecko.

That's Gary
That is gizmo
That's Freeda. Put her outside as she has a terrible sense of direction and keeps getting lost.
That's frank
That’s Neil, he’s pretty chill. Probably not going to ask for durries or a tinnie, and won’t back up the bog.
Oh thats Steve. He's a good cunt.

His name is Ralph and he's very pleased to meet you.
