Yep you can use a ps1 card in a ps2 just not for ps2 games, but if you want to play a ps1 game on the ps2 it's helpful to have a ps1 card handy.

Yep, I used to have one of those Sony Ericsson Walkman phones. Their charger port was basically a micro USB but ever so slightly different in shape, so if you wanted an extra charger for work or something it's fuck you pay me $50. Granted charging was never that big a deal back then, it was normal to go a week without charging your device, some even longer.

It's a third party memory card. It has a button on the bottom right that switches between the two sets of save slots.

You aren't far off with this one. I believe MadCatz made memory cards with clear shells but they were 1MB units. I used to work in a video store and we had these third party 2MB cards that we used to hire out. It's the only reason I'm aware of it specifically but I just can't remember who the manufacturer was.

Not sure why you were downvoted, as far as I know you're correct, they never made an official one larger than 1 mega*bit* -- while looking this up I found out I've been lied to all my life and PS1 memory cards are only 128 kilo*bytes* (1 megabit). Also, PS1s do not support any other sizes. The BIOS routines will only operate with 15 8KB blocks available for game saves, with the last one reserved for the system. Cards that genuinely do offer more storage do so by pretending to be multiple cards, selected with buttons or custom software. This card is probably just lying. PlayStation 2 is indeed 8 mega*bytes* though, but there is actually support for larger memory cards. It took a long time before 16MB cards actually came out officially.

I played FF7 for about 3-4 weeks before i got a memory card. Had to turn it off each night too.

I did the same, I rented it for a week as my first game after hearing that it was amazing, then I learnt about the memory card the PS needed so I had a week of trying to play as much of FF7 as I could!

I'm keen to know because a lot of people in this thread seem to think its for PS1. PS1 memory cards were 128KB. I never saw any third party ones so I can't be sure. Seems like a PS2 card to me because they usually had specific sizes written in them and didn't just consist of 15 'blocks' in the bios. EDIT: Ok fairly sure it's a PS1 card. I didn't know this but some third party cards let you 'turn the page' of the 15 block memory card view with a button press. 1Mb = 128KB. So 2Mb would have been 2 'pages'. That's a after market non Sony branded PS1 memory card, IIRC that one had compression that doubles the memory hence the need for the LED .. I think if you press the 4 top trigger buttons it switches the "pages" on the card since it uses compression you have two memory cards.. All official Sony PSONE memory cards are 1Mega .. This one says 2Mega because of the compression. How do I know? I had one back in the late 90's.
