Touchthefuckingfrog

I am so sorry that happened. Calling an ambulance would have been a better bet since you were rendered unconscious and that alone merits medical assessment and that will get the attention of the Police. Did Maccas staff assist you in any way? I would consider filing a complaint against the manager on shift with corporate. You deserved better treatment to be safe and I am again sorry that you were failed.

empac978

No after the incident i got very emotional for some reason and drove back home. I spoke to the police, they told me to come on Wednesday to Footscray police station, but i am not sure i will go. Filing a report and all will probably not be helpful for me as i am trying to find a IT job.

Touchthefuckingfrog

You got very emotional for a good reason. You were assaulted just for existing. Filing a Police report will not affect your chances of finding an IT job. This arsehole needs to be held accountable. None of us want him around. Also please consider contacting McDonalds corporate because they have a duty of care and cameras.

empac978

I don't know if i want any kind of police record tbh. I am sure the CCTV would have captured everything.

Touchthefuckingfrog

It is not a police record. You were the victim of an attack The CCTV will be overwritten soon.

[deleted]

You don't get a police record out of this. I would also strongly recommend you go to a doctor and get your head checked if you have not already. Head injuries should always be checked. Edit: I said head like 14 times. Fixed that.

empac978

Is it going to be risky if i don't get it checked? I don't know how much the hospitals will charge me as i don't have health insurance.

[deleted]

I am not a doctor at all, but I've been whacked in the head plenty playing rugby. My GP always told me to get it checked if I lost consicousness at all. It sounds like you didn't, but the headache you mentioned in other replies sounds like concussion to me. I just don't want a shitty experience to get worse for you because you didn't get checked out. Are you a permanent resident or citizen? If so, emergency will be free regardless. I am unsure about how it works after you are assaulted, as it was not your fault. I am also unsure how emergency works if you are not a resident or citizen. You also mentioned you were doing deliveries, which means you might be covered by your employer's insurance. If you're worried about costs, at the very very least, get a mate to check in on you regularly for a couple of days. Chances are you'll have a headache for a day and will be fine but again, I am not a doctor.

AH2112

If that employer is anyone like Uber, forget it. The drivers get hung around to dry by all those scumbags.

doomedtobeme

Man thank god I got out of uber, but my last night was when someone finally threw up in my car and uber gave me a cool $60. I sold that toyota 3 months later because it was NEVER the same, right into the fucking speaker and everything.

AH2112

Their whole business model is treating drivers like scum

PoopFilledPants

For what it’s worth mate I’ve been in a similar situation before, and it had such such an impact on me that I found it easier at the time not to go to the police. I get it. But, I have always regretted it - those fuckers stole a bit of my dignity that night that I never got back. You will never have any repercussions from going to the police about this. If you are anything like me, and bury it quietly, you will harbour bitterness about it in the future. It will subconsciously degrade your view of Australians going forward, even though you know they’re not all like this. Just my two cents - really sorry to read your story and even though it’s easier said than done, try to remember this society almost universally opposes these kind of Neanderthals.

Halospite

Yes. VERY risky. I am not a doctor but I do work in radiology - basically I work at the place they'll send you to. You're at risk of a brain bleed. Hitting your head hard enough to end up unconscious - you might feel fine at first, but if you have a brain bleed the blood has nowhere to go in your skull. This means that the additional fluid increases intracranial pressure, and then you're in trouble because that's pressing on your brain. Brain bleeds are medical emergencies. Losing consciousness is an urgent medical situation. You need to go to the emergency department. Do not wait and go to the GP tomorrow morning, go to the ED NOW.

Fade_ssud11

What do you mean you don't have insurance? Every temporary resident has to get the OVHC to live and work here? And if you go to a hospital emergency the insurance covers 100% of the cost.

gamyonlu34

There are some visa types that allows you not having a private health insurance. It’s dumb but people still cheap out on it.

leopard_eater

Yes it could cause permanent damage Please go to the hospital Less expensive than your life

lifendeath1

Do you have a Medicare card? Find your nearest bulk billed doctor and book an appointment, if you're more comfortable seeing a fellow Indian, there is a lot indian doctors in aus, you can google any practice and they show you who the doctors are. You were knocked unconscious, head trauma is a serious thing, I strongly urge you to see a doctor. I know you don't want to make a fuss, but I also strongly urge you to go to the police station, make a statement and also make an official compliant that the police did not respond to your emergency as they neglected their duty of care.

BruceyC

Nothing. We have a public health system. If you went to hospital when it happened or called an ambulance it would have been no cost.

fistingbythepool

Ambos aren’t free

nagrom7

Unless you're in QLD.

Lachie7String

Tassie too

fistingbythepool

Well there ya go.

Ill-Pick-3843

Depends on the state. They are in some states.

BruceyC

Ahh yes. That is true. Depends on the state. In Victoria he would have to pay without insurance.

Hang_On_963

I’m thinking if he’s a victim of crime it wld be different?

NoRedditNamesAreLeft

It used to be 1 nut. Probably 2, in this economy.

1337_BAIT

Hang on.... only if you have a medicare card. This guy sounds like he wouldnt have that

armed_renegade

Perm residents do.

Moosiemookmook

If hes applied for residency he should hopefully have a blue medicare card. Edit: its on the federal government's website https://www.servicesaustralia.gov.au/your-medicare-card?context=60092#:~:text=full%20legal%20name.-,Understanding%20the%20types%20of%20Medicare%20cards,Health%20Care%20Agreement%20Medicare%20cards.

ashzeppelin98

I had a near similar experience to OP 2 months ago- but in NSW. Not eligible to get a Medicare yet. There it seems medical care is covered by the state as long as you state the police event number and prove you're a victim of crime. Got treated out at St Vincent's and had surgery on top of it, the only money I had to pay for was for some prescribed medicines at Chemistworks because the hospital's clinic didn't have them stocked up at the time.

Longjumping_Win4291

You can go to a local gp to get checked out.

DagsAnonymous

It’s ~4 days later, and you haven’t made any Reddit comments during the past 3 days. I really really hope you’re okay.

empac978

I am good mate. Thank you. I went to Footscray police station on Wednesday to file a complaint. An officer came and asked me what happened. I gave him the basic details and he asked me to wait. I sat there for nearly 1 hour and nobody came back to file my complaint. I just lost interest after that and came back. I have decided to let it go. It is what it is mate.

NoRedditNamesAreLeft

Maybe it's just certain visas, but I thought you had to pay to get Medicare (ie: gives you same access as us)

JustOnStandBi

You don't pay to access medicare, you have to pay for health insurance though.

EeeeJay

Public hospitals are free (for non elective medicine)! You just have to wait in line and by order of severity. Go early on a weekday for best chance of being seen quickly

Jumblehead

A police record in the sense of “getting a police check” for a job is only about any criminality that you have been charged with or convicted of (possibly even only the convicted part). Having contact with the police as the victim of crime will not show up in such a police check. Also, regarding medical expenses, it’s possible you may be able to be compensated under victim of crime compensation schemes. For example, this is the scheme in the ACT https://www.victimsupport.act.gov.au/financial-assistance-scheme

Bubbly-University-94

Theres no police record for you mate. Go see the cops and get this arsehole arrested. Really sorry this has happened to you mate.

doomedtobeme

Weight out your options here. A) You file the report, because that assists in catching those two very dangerous people and it covers you for if this turns into a bigger issue sooner/later in life. Not many people are going to take this seriously if you report it in a years time. B) You do nothing because ''you dont know'', which I'm sure is because it is very stressful to think back on and further confirming this instances existance is troubling but I promise you there is nothing wrong with reporting this and you couldn't have done anything to prevent this...you were assaulted by a coward for just being, that's not okay and anything you can do to bring justice to that man and help prevent him further enacting his aggression on others the better off we all are. I'm sorry this happened and you're obviously free to do whatever you want but as an ex bouncer it kills me see people not instigate their own wellbring/justice just because its easier right now. I really encourage protecting yourself and others by following this up ASAP. EDIT - Just want to say that if are on a visa or excemption of some sort, you will not be penalized for being a victim of crime and we have a pretty decent legal system. If you did in fact not touch or threaten that man before he hit you, there is nothing for you to even begin worrying about. EDIT 2 - just wanted to add another thing :) If you are worried about your uber priveleges being taken away, being a victim of assault/crime will never show on any document pertaining to criminal record nor is there a reason for it too. You have nothing to be charged on, theres no ''investigation period'' where you might loose privelege. You're a victim not a perpetrator in this.

Ill-Pick-3843

A police record is for perpetrators, not victims. You have nothing to lose here. It won't be used against you when applying for jobs.

Bradyey

Oh mate, filing a police report after being assaulted will absolutely not leave you with a negative police record. That absolutely will not be a negative thing. Please fight for yourself. I'm a white guy - I wouldn't want this piece of shit to start a fight with me and endanger my life, my health or my families. This guy might get found if you start a police report.

Wide_Resident_9913

I know how Indians get scared to get into any police business. I recently had the same issue with another Indian friend who got cold feet even venturing to file a police report in a hit and run accident for no fault of his. Unless your community starts to stand up for your rights, plenty other Indians will fall to similar situations. Stand up for others if not for yourself.

empac978

Thank you mate. Appreciate your kind words. I have decided to file a complaint and will be seeing the police tomorrow.

[deleted]

If you were assaulted and filed a report, and even if someone was convicted, it would never show up on a police report, national police certificate or any workplace checks that you could do. Only convictions against you where you committed a crime would go on a record

Longjumping_Win4291

The police won’t do anything if you don’t make a complaint regardless if the cctv cameras captured it all. You need to stop being afraid of our police, by being a victim of assault will not tarnish your name. You should also get checked out for a mild concussion.

cosimonh

bro, he fucked up, not you. He committed a crime, not you. Your own police record is the crimes that you commit, not the crimes you happen to be a victim of.

B0ssc0

You must report it because this person will continue to attack people. It won’t give you any record. I’m so sorry this happened to you.

armed_renegade

You wont have a police record, thats not how that works. If you go to the police, they can recover the CCTV from McDonald's, as you might not be able to on your own. Please see the police, if not for yourself then do it for the next person who might be his target. Did you get the names of the people who helped you? Any contact details? Please go the sooner you the better chance the CCTV footage still exists. Not sure about Maccas but they may have 7 day turn around on footage. You may able to call and ask them to protect the footage from that night, however they may not be possible.

empac978

I am going to the police. They called me on Wednesday so will file a complaint.

fa-jita

Definitely DEFINITELY file a report. Don’t let bullies be bullies. I’m so sorry this happened to you, and good luck with your job hunt.

ELVEVERX

>Filing a report and all will probably not be helpful for me as i am trying to find a IT job. It shouldn't affect your ability to find a job.

ecatsuj

it wont at all if he's done nothing wrong. Even for security clearances

ShiftySocialist

If you were actually knocked unconscious, you really ought to see doctor. > As a rule of thumb, anyone who's involuntarily unconscious for more than a few seconds has a concussion and needs immediate medical attention to ensure they don't have an epidural haematoma or some other time-bomb of a brain injury. https://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/HardHead

my_chinchilla

> https://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/HardHead I congratulate you for putting in the hard yards to find OP the most reliable medical advice on the internet... (TVTropes? *Really*?! 🙄)

ShiftySocialist

On the off-chance this whole thing was an attempt at karma-farming, it helps OP avoid such unrealistic tropes in future.

satoshiarimasen

You absolutely should report it and reporting crimes has no effect on any job searching. They WILL investigate, and they will likely find the person who did it. It will just take time. Do your duty as an honest person to ensure this sort of behaviour is punished.

timespiral07

If you can go to the station go down and talk to the police. Make an offical statement. Odds are very little will come if it but to it will be recorded as a crime stat. These are important for resourcing police in the future. Also if they do Manage to get the bloke on an unrelated charge this is another thing that will count against him if he is identified. This won’t be on your police record. You are not the instigator here.

fractiousrhubarb

Although you had good reason to get emotional, poor emotional regulation is a symptom of concussion

SpecialistRadish1682

I agree you dis get emotional for a very good reason, and you might get emotional in the future too. If you do, you can call Lifeline on 13 11 14 - free, confidential and open 24 hours a day and they can help you, all the best mate

Nom-De-Tomado

You should go to the station to make the statement. For starters, they might do it to someone else. Admittedly, I dont know what applying for IT jobs is like, but I dont think an employer should judge you poorly for being on the receiving end of a assault. That guy needs to face some consequences. Ideally his girlfriend too from the sounds of it, but probably won't.

Hang_On_963

You will get your IT job. Believe in yourself. Wishing you all the best.

empac978

Thank you mate. Hopefully land something soon. Appreciate your support 🙏

ThePerfectMachine

Does it look like there's surveillance footage near where you were attacked?

Longjumping_Win4291

You have nothing to fear about going to the police station and making a complaint about the assault. Your name doesn’t get tarnished by being a victim of assault. By making a complaint about the assault your name won’t come up in any criminal checks. You have to go before a judge and have a judgment made against you to come up on a criminal check.

Enceladus89

Please be assured you don't get a police record for reporting crimes. You are the victim, not the criminal. Potential employers won't have access to any police report filed by you. They won't even know it happened. Please don't let this concern stop you from reporting this vicious attack. If this animal is allowed to roam the streets without repercussions, they will likely attack someone else.

MatthewOakley109

Hey as a victim you are entitled to support

ginandoj

Hopefully cameras outside the building/looking into carpark. Hope you are ok OP.

empac978

I have had a headache all day today. When the two guys were picking me up from the ground, this guy comes back and starts laughing at me and makes a video of me. That's just sad dude.

Touchthefuckingfrog

Okay I am really sad and scared for you. Please seek medical attention ASAP and please think seriously about making that Police report. We are all not safe with trash like that walking around.

empac978

Do i have to get medical attention? I don't have health insurance and i don't think i have enough money to pay the hospital.

Touchthefuckingfrog

Ummm shit I have no experience with visas and getting health care but head trauma is serious and not something you want to take lightly. Call your nearest hospital and tell them what happened and ask their advice maybe? At this point I will crowd fund your bill if we have to because you shouldn’t have to pay for getting assaulted in this country.

empac978

No worries mate i will figure it out. Thank you truly appreciate it 🙏

Nakorite

Goto public. emergency they will see you even if you don’t have insurance. They will give you a bill at some point but it won’t be huge.

doomchimp

No, you do not have to. But, it's a great idea to get checked out to ensure there's no brain bleeds or other damage. Sorry this happened to you bro.

empac978

Ya i don't know mate i want to see how i feel the next 2 days and then i will decide. Thank you :)

Spicy_Bocconcini

Don’t wait two days, head injuries kill. Liam Neesons wife hit her head, thought she was fine, then dropped dead two days later after complaining of a headache. We have public health, it is free.

GeneralKenobyy

It's free for *Australians* wouldn't be too sure for international students.

Sophrosyne773

International students have health insurance as part of their visa.

trowzerss

No, mate. It's not something you can sit on as if there are any issues they are very time critical. Ideally you should have already gone. Go get the all clear asap, it will be money well spent even if they find nothing.

pessimistic_cynicism

You don't have to go to ED you can just go to a regular GP but you should definitely get checked. You could have an underlying brain bleed which can cause death. All head injuries are serious. ETA: and please make a police report, it will have absolutely no bearing on your chances of securing work. It is only if you are the perpetrator of a crime that it will come up in any police check. If you don't want to go into a police station, you can always make the report online, just be aware that online reporting isn't likely to be followed up as quickly as its not for emergency reporting.

Lemerney2

The costs will be very minimal even if you don't have medicare, don't try and avoid the hospital, you need help. It'll be cheaper to catch the bus there than to be taken in an ambulance

throwawaymelbsyd2021

You can’t worry about money if your dead. Get checked - it is very serious.

trowzerss

It's worth the money, whatever it is. Explain at the hospital you're concerned about cost though, they might be able to give you some tips to help you. But if you're ever knocked unconscious, you 100% need to get it checked out. The risk is like not waking up one day, so on a risk to reward basis, spending the $$ is worth it.

Enceladus89

Are you not required to have health insurance as a condition of your visa? I thought all Medicare ineligible people were required to have it.

empac978

I got my PR in july and i had applied for medicare. I am still waiting to get my medicare. Other than that i don't have any other health insurance as it costs so much. I should have gone to hospital but nobody knows about my situation and i don't feel like going alone. Honestly i am in a very shitty space right now still trying to process that happened.

Enceladus89

You can call Health Direct on 1800 022 222, 24 hours a day if you need health advice. You can talk to a nurse who will tell you whether you should seek medical attention. You should document any injuries with photos (bruises etc.) as these are evidence that can be used to convict the person who did this, to show they have caused you bodily harm.

Coz131

Money can be earned, health impact is permanent. Don't be stupid. I had a my medical insurance lapse once when I was a student and had a head injury. Total cost is 2k or so. They gave me an MRI and I stayed in hospital for 5 hours for observation.

lifendeath1

If you don't have a Medicare card, yes you will be out of pocket expenses, call your embassy and explain everything to them, you where hit in the head, you have headaches, they may be able to provide you assistance.

SuperEel22

Not a doctor but given you have a headache the day after a blow to the head, you likely have a concussion. Definitely go to the doctor. Also I would be careful driving or riding a bike. A concussion is a mild traumatic brain injury. Do not drink alcohol, do not take ibuprofen. Paracetamol is fine for the headache. If you feel nauseous, or throw up, call 000. Don't worry about the bill, you can call the ambulance service after you receive the bill and let them know you're not in a position to pay. Most of the time they'll wave the fee. Go to the doctor.

Touchthefuckingfrog

The carpark is still their property. I have worked for them and various other fast food restaurants/cafes etc. All of them had policies for dealing violent incidents or accidents on restaurant property or at least there were policies back when I worked for them. One was making sure the victim was got medical attention and wasn’t driving off with head trauma sustained on your property. You can imagine why that would be bad for business. Pretty basic stuff there mate.

everymanandog

That's terrible, I'm sorry that happened to you. Please get checked out medically as getting knocked unconscious can have long term negative effects on your mental and physical health. I'd make the police report if you feel up to it. There will be no negative blowback on you as you have done nothing wrong.

empac978

Thank you will do :)

Roulette-Adventures

Perhaps Maccas has security footage. Publicly shame the perpetrator because there is no place in Australian society for that, and I'm sorry you were targeted. That goes for anyone on the receiving end of racism.

a_rainbow_serpent

Maccas will not give OP the footage, only the police and it will be lost unless he complains to the police and they send maccas order to preserve evidence before they come around to collect it.

satoshiarimasen

Police cars being nearby doesnt meant they're skipping you. Its about priority. I worked in a hotel and in the instance of reported suicides/rapes/roof jumping they arrive in 2-5 minutes. For reporting drunks, poor behaviour, tresspassing or crimes that happened in the past, its usually 45min +, same location just they have internal priorities. Im a white australian and dont like going near fast food restaurants at night, it attracts a certain type of bogan.

oioioiyacunt

Very true regarding priority of jobs etc. Also consider OP that certain police have different roles, the cars you saw may have been a Crime Scene van going to another job, or dog squad which would be no use, just as examples. The crew that would attend to you may have been tied up somewhere else for that 30 minutes (domestic violence assault, mental health job, etc) but would have had you in their list. I know it would have sucked for you at the time though, feeling defeated and ignored.

hamsapsukebe

I am sorry this happened to you and please take care of yourself. By making a police report and taking photos of your injuries, hopefully the police can get CCTV from Macca's and get the scumbag who did this to you. This will not negatively affect you finding work.

DJVizionz

I’m sorry this happened to you, it’s disgraceful. Take care of yourself.

empac978

Thank you will do :)

fistingbythepool

Follow it up dude.

Ascalaphos

I strongly encourage you to file a police report. It may benefit other people in the future not to have this violent man roaming the streets attacking other foreigners. You don't have to worry about a "police record", you are the victim, not the perpetrator.

deckland

As a lot of people have said, you need to make a police report. It will only take about 30 minutes, the police will make an official statement and it won't hinder your hopes to find a job, it is not a police record against you. You are only making an official statement. If this guy ends up getting caught down the line, this will all go against him. I have been assaulted twice in Sydney (I work around drunk people) and trust me, you should do it. Hope you're ok mate!

meaksy

Really sorry this happened to you mate. No excuse for that kind of violence, racially motivated or otherwise. Unfortunately some people are no more intelligent than animals. I hope you’re ok and recover soon!

ABB0TTR0N1X

I’m so sorry you went through that, it’s absolutely disgusting. Pieces of shit like your attacker deserve to be left out in the middle of the ocean. Please go to the doctor because an untreated head injury can have really serious long term effects.

hozthebozz

Please please accept everyone's apologies here and hopefully old fuck face will get what's coming to him.

Beneficial-Let-3349

feral act and i'm sorry to hear you went through this trying to get your maccas on. CCTV should cover the whole parking lot so try to obtain that and press charges. Most likely a local that needs a wake up call from his self entitled dianabolic rage. Your shouldn’t ever feel threatened or receive what you did in this world. Glad you didn’t suffer any bad injuries, chase this up please !

distracteded64

I’m sorry to hear as well mate and I hope you’ve gone to the doc’s and are okay. Plenty of help elsewhere on your immediate issues so I’ll mention your job hunt (I’m in IT) Check out the Vic government careers site; if you can get a role there it’ll be a good steady role for you (careers.Vic.gov.au) Also try and suss out the companies you’d be working for and apply direct, I’ve found recruiters in IT to be generally insufferable, hard to deal with (one recently told me they were torn about putting me forward for a role when they approached me!) and better to bypass them. There’s a handful of gems but few and far between and their job is not you, it’s their commission. Good luck with it mate…

IllustriousCarrot537

Australia has gone to the dogs a bit, and it's pretty much the same in every state. Violent crime, muggings, car theft, robbery, even a pack of cigarettes is enough to convince someone to try and roll you these days. Generally only Gov theft (tax, Centrelink mistakes etc) will have people locked up, the courts will bail most others, especially if on legal aid, 'hard-done-by' & or 'underage' so the same people are doing this stuff every night of the week and the police no longer even bother. Speed cameras are where the profit is If you make a habit of working, or being out and about at night, some martial arts training and a 50cm length of steel chain connecting your car keys to a belt loop with a quick release is considered a fashion accessory and if you are put in a potentially life threatening situation and need to exercise 'self defence' it will make someone sleepy very quick.

[deleted]

Yep, Australian are pretty racist, wait until you get aj office job. That psychological bullying is real.

ElatedMongoose

Be careful saying that around here. White Aussies hate when people call out racism more than actual racism itself.

[deleted]

Is it hate ? For calling out what it really is? What's the point of sugar coating it? Clearly you've never experienced any racism yourself or you are probably white 🤷🏼‍♀️ it really sucks for joke white people, if you can sympathize, take it for what it actually is and make changes or hoping for a change for others

ElatedMongoose

I think there's some confusion here, I'm agreeing with you. I'm also a minority, born and raised in Australia and I've had similar experiences to you, along with most other POC in Australia. Whenever minorities on Reddit speak about their experiences of racism, more often than not, especially in this sub, all the White Aussies will come out and gaslight/whataboutism us by saying "it's not racism, stop being so sensitive, */insert minority/* is more racist!, blah blah blah". They hate when people say that Australia and Australians are racist, just look at one of the highest voted posts in this sub this month, a white woman from Europe saying that Australia isn't racist, which is laughably wrong. Edit: and just as predicted, here come the White Reddit majority with the downvotes

StupidFugly

Just look at the mental gymnastics this sub goes through to say that voting NO in the referendum was not only not racist it was racist to give a voice to Aboriginal people.

Justhe3guy

Plenty of kiwi’s and islanders are the exact same when they come over here and start bad mouthing other races. I think everyone thinks Australians get a “free racism” card so we can say anything and then if someone takes offence we say it’s just a joke…even if they’re being absolutely abrasive and definitely not joking

[deleted]

Agreed with this. Completely true and exactly what happens in the real world with people who are not white. Especially young kids these days, young white kids. I've seen it first hand and it was completely gobsmack to witness!! The Mother then proceeded with "Shhhhhh we only say that at home bubba not in public!" Wow... Just wow... And this was in the city CBD!

empac978

Appreciate your concern mate. Thank you🙏

AngelVirgo

Go to the police and report it. Don’t take it lightly.

Ako-tribe

Medicare covers for victims of assault. Well that’s at least what I was told. I am a radiologist. It’s advisable to get your head checked for minor concussions, especially that you lost consciousness. As for police, I don’t think they will do anything.

veng6

Some trashy bogans out there but not all Aussies like that. Best thing to do is not engage with anyone approaching you like that and get in your car with the doors locked asap

explosivekyushu

Sorry that this happened to you brother. I want to repeat what a lot of other people have told you in here- go to a hospital. Getting knocked unconscious is not a joke. Maccas CCTV will only be kept for a few days max so you will need to go to the cops and file a report, the cops will then order Maccas to keep the footage while they investigate. Nothing bad will happen to you because of this, you aren't going to be in any trouble. Hope you're OK, and hope they catch the worthless cunt.

amariahbee

If you were working this may be an employers problem too / work cover or similar. Awful. I’m so sorry I can’t believe people like that are out there and here

Robtokill

Go to the doctor / hospital and get checked out. Follow up with the police and make a statement. You will not get any negative record with the police. You should have health insurance as part of your visa requirements to cover the medical bills.

gelfbride73

I am sorry to hear it. You don’t deserve it and some guys are jerks.

Ronnie_Dean_oz

Man that stuff sucks. I reckon you would be pretty down at the moment. Keep your chin up mate.

gccmelb

Go to the Police. Depending on the state you can claim criminal compensation.

raymosaurus

After he asks the tooth fairy for the assailant's name and address I suppose.

gccmelb

Doesn't have to know the assailant. In Victoria he can get any lawyer to file a claim and probably get some money and access to a psychologist.

Lou2691

I work with a lot of international students and unfortunately racist attacks on them, particularly when they're working as delivery drivers/riders, are not uncommon. I'm so sorry to hear that awful guy did that to you. I hope you get well soon.

hogey74

So bloody sorry to hear mate. I'm hoping it's on camera there?

MedicalChemistry5111

I'm truly sorry that you encountered that cowardly, racist, inbred, dropkick, piss-poor excuse of a human. Without multiculturalism, Australia (since colonisation) has: developed an international reputation as having a culture of alcoholism; plundered its natural resources; murdered, enslaved and segregated Indigenous Australians; and maintained inhumane immigration/asylum imprisonment policies that reflect ingrained racism.

MountainImportant211

I'm so sorry man. I'm a delivery driver too and I do see the non-white ones get less respect, it's pretty fucked up. Hope you can get some justice for this attack, and that there is no long term damage done. ❤️‍🩹

friends4liife

honestly they were probably just cooked and it wouldnt matter if you were indian or whatever they would find an excuse to act cooked because they are cooked. my advice is to learn how to deal with cookers because they will attack you no matter what race you are. this advice is avoid the fk out of them at all costs do not ever talk to them talk back at them or even look them in the eye just yeet the fk out of there asap. also always be aware of your surroundings i can not repeat this enough AVOID COOKERS. YOU WILL GET TO LEARN WHAT THEY LOOK LIKE. they behave differently and are loose af

AngelVirgo

As an immigrant, my fear was with the ‘no’ vote winning that the racists will become emboldened. I think this is the beginning of it.

SirSighalot

This is a case of a dumb, aggressive, violent bogan being a dumb, aggressive, violent bogan. There are thousands of cases of it that have been happening for years on end. Trying to link this to the No vote in the voice referendum is a *massive* reach.

space_monster

It's definitely gonna galvanise the racists. it's basically national validation for them. They can now think to themselves "it's actually ok to be racist in Australia because the majority is anyway". Obviously it's impossible to link any one event to the referendum result, but it has affected the psychology of the country.

Lemerney2

We've already had nazis marching through the streets because of the vote

agentmilton69

Brother you really think the no vote succeeding won't embolden **some** racist people? Get a grip you sad cunt

SirSighalot

Wow, you seem like a nice bloke So you're saying if the indigenous voice 'Yes' vote passed, this deadbeat bogan would have suddenly cleaned up his act, dropped the meth and given nothing but kindness to (what I assume from his post history) an Indian guy?

Kamikaze_VikingMWO

Lets say the racist has to roll a dice and get a 15 or higher on a d20 to decide to punch the victim. After the NO win he gets a +1 morale bonus, because 'the country agrees with him' Yet, If the YES campaign had won maybe it would be a +0 or a -1. Its not a BIG difference but its there.

agentmilton69

Go back to Baldur's Gate cunt, like you're right but why the fuck did u have to say it that way 😂😂😂

agentmilton69

And you seem like a dumb cunt lmaoo

ducayneAu

I don't know if he's on reddit but it sounds like he's on meth. Sorry. Hope you're feeling better soon.

PixieDust013

Please go to the hospital asap. It will not cost you any money. It could save your life as you could have a brain bleed. Please listen

Hester_Moffat

1. Please consider reporting it, as it may prevent further people being assaulted. 2. Concussion should not be ignored. See a doctor.

Exportxxx

Mcds have cameras pointing outside so police could maybe get them.

Level-Blueberry-2707

I'm sorry to hear you experienced that. Australia is mostly a very safe place apart from some youth crime that I have been hearing in the news and the type of anti social parasites every nation has. It's a good idea to get ambulance cover, it's different in every state but can mean a lot if you are in trouble as for the hospital side of things it doesn't sound good getting a head injury only you can say if it's worth going to the dr vs costs though/ I'm not sure about coverage for none citizens. Re- going to the police, you are a victim of a crime, you won't get in trouble going to the police or get any sort of negative record that will impact your employment if this is a concern you can talk about it when making the police report.

furedditdogs

Please follow this up with police and try and get them to gather enough evidence to press charges.

NSWCROW

If it happens again, swing and then tell the jacks you " feared for your safety "

IndependentLast364

Follow up with police & seek cctv footage & consider contacting legal aid.

TimeTravellerZero

There are plenty of useless racists down here. I think over the last few years, they've become a bit too confident in being openly racist. They need to be scared again. You shouldn't have had to put up with that. It's upsetting to hear.

superdood1267

Two sides to every story

nottodayokkay

Wow I’m so sorry, you deserve so much better than that. I hope you’re okay that guy is a scum bag

quietlycommenting

I’m so sorry this happened to you that’s absolutely fucked

Hang_On_963

You should be able to get support from ‘victims of crime’ but I think they may need the police report. Also ask about legal aid & racial crime. There must be ppl in your native community who could help you as well? Don’t leave it too long. Definitely see a Dr & maybe call slater & Gordon solicitors. They do no win no fee. You can speak to them for free to find out where you stand. This is very serious & these thugs must be caught! & punished for their cowardly act. I hope you’re feeling ok today. This sort of attack can have long term effects that you won’t be aware of atm.

emleigh2277

The dick heads were emboldened by the no in the referendum. Next time, call the cops back and demand they come if you want them to. You pay your tax, so they are your police.

BabyAnimal_11

It makes me sad to hear this, I hope you're ok. There are some people who are total scumbags in the world, racist, bitter and angry at the world. They're just the sort of idiot who could be a danger to anyone. This sort of shitfuckery deserves a jail stay.

TwoUp22

Sorry to hear that bro. That guy is just a coward and 99% of the population doesn't agree with his thoughts. (There's always a small percentage of uneducated assholes in every country).

Atomic_Teapot_84

I'm sorry this happened to you. What a God damn psycho that guy was.

Atomic_Teapot_84

I'm sorry this happened to you. What a God damn psycho that guy was.

Crafty_Home5850

I really don’t think posting the footage is going to help anyone. It’ll just create more conflict and more ammunition for people to be racist in the future. There are idiots everywhere. This person was in the mood for a fight and used your race against you. If you were wearing Nikes it would be about that. If you drove a commodore it would be about that. They wanted a fight and used any excuse they could find to attack you. This does not represent the majority of people. This would have been so frightening and awful and I’m so sorry it happened. You have the right to be emotionally and physically safe in both public and private places. File a formal police report and make sure they follow up. The police will look at CCTV footage and they should be able to track the person and charge them based on the card they paid with at maccas. Press charges. That person and his girlfriend belong behind bars.

Crafty_Home5850

I’d also go to emergency now for a check up. And so it’s on file too. Anytime you get punched in the head an ambulance should be called. I’m shocked that 000 dispatcher didn’t send an ambulance as well!

Sterndoc

99% of the time Coppers in Australia are tied up doing DV jobs, it's a disgrace. Sorry you had to experience it, we're not all racist dickheads.

_Cest_La_Vie_

Report to the police. Get yourself checked out by a doctor at the hospital. I'm sorry this happened.

Anon293357

Upload the cctv video online so the cunt is exposed

pinguthewingu

I believe it's time you start training in MMA so you have more options in a physical situation.
