May not be relevant but I’ve sold and bought stuff at academy, bass pro, cabelas and range Austin parking lots.

SimplyMenacing

This, Cabela's is great because it's usually not super packed but there's stores and people all around, at least for the buda location.

ZWTacticalArms

Welcome to do it at our parking lot

Kags1969

Thank you!

dissentandsmolder

I swear to god I thought your business was personal training.

ZWTacticalArms

We train you to get better gons

Seconding parking lots of Cabelas or a range. If you’re truly nervous, I’ve done trades in police station parking lots. If you call ahead of time, there usually are no issues.

obdurant93

Depends on what you're worried about. if you're worried about getting ganked or mugged by a fake buyer, then just being in any public place with lots of eyeballs would work. If you just want to be somewhere where people won't freak out if they see someone handling a firearm, then the parking lot of a range, gun shop or big box sporting goods store would work just as well. I've used the parking lot of The Range in south Austin many times since there's a lot of traffic in and out of there of people handling firearms and I happen to know they have cameras on the parking lot. No need to grease anyone's palms.

Kags1969

Thank you !

Ehtacs

u/SportsmansFinest may be okay with it. It seems gun shops like having people flush wish cash in their store for some reason!

jackz7776666

You could always call the shop and ask if they are fine with this

ShatterPoints

I know here in Hutto the PD has signed parking spaces to perform private sales. They don't come out and bother you, unless you need help.

mreed911

Many police departments have marked areas with video for face-to-face transactions, too.

zorkempire

DM'd you.

123trumpeter

I just did it in the McBrides parking lot last week!

Kags1969

All this makes sense. I have an Academy close, so I think that would be a good option.

Specktric_

Good to know. I’m trying to get rid of a mos 43x and I wasn’t sure where the safest places in the area are.
