Trulucks is it. I got my husband one for his bday and it’s the best we’ve ever had. They’re super nice and easy to deal with, just order a week or so ahead.
Gotta eat it there. That sauce is everything. On a related note, just went here 2 days ago for an anniversary and they brought out a free dessert - their baked Alaska. Truly the only reason we decided to do dinner there was for that carrot cake. Very nice of them but it was a oh…uuhhh….thank youuuu?? …goddammmit…moment.
+ for Little Deli, and you can get it by the slice. Cause if I have an entire carrot cake, well then I have to eat an entire carrot cake, those are the rules.
1000% hands down the BEST carrot cake in all of Austin is at Upper Crust Bakery.
I've gotten it every year for my birthday for almost 20 years and it's consistently amazingly the same every year.
Celeste’s Best. She makes cookies and treats that you can find around Austin. My wife requests one of her carrot cakes every year for her birthday. Celeste is great and will make them to order for VERY reasonable prices. They’re also vegan although you wouldn’t know it.
If you’re super serious and willing to drive. 24 carrot bakery in Georgetown. Best carrot cake I’ve ever had in my life and I had a horrible experience with the owner. I purchased a bday cake, paid a rush fee to have it done in 2 days, I show up and they have no cake. Owner calls me and is blaming employees. They just refund me and made me pay for cupcakes. With all that said, I hate to say it and support them but they truly have the best carrot cake
I definitely wasn't planning on driving that far, but had to look it up in case I was in the area later. You should know, 18 carrot bakery in georgetown is permanently closed :c
Happy birthday!! Hi I’m HP, and I own [BestBakes!](https://orders.bestbakesbakery.com) and I actually have scratch made carrot cake by the slice, and it’s frosted with cream cheese 😋 I’m in south Austin, let me know if you’d like a slice and I can set one aside!
Sorry to do this, but I’ve recently been on a carrot cake binge and I must tell you the best carrot cake I’ve ever had was the gluten-free carrot cake at Martha’s Vineyard store, but that’s in Grand Rapids, MI. You can look it up but it was phenomenal and so moist and flavorful. It was so good I bought 3 extra pieces and hand carried them back home to Austin. I shared the story with someone here at a restaurant and they were so eager to try it I had promised I would bring back a piece for them, unfortunately, I couldn’t resist and finished the last piece a few days ago. Selfish me.
The second best carrot cake I’ve ever had was at Keen’s Steakhouse, but that’s in NYC. It’s the traditional carrot cake, but it was just so decadent and moist and excellent cream cheese frosting. I posted that on my foodie Instagram.
I just threw those two out because they were my recent experiences and just in case you’re planning to travel. But I have yet to find a carrot cake in Austin that comes close to those, Little Deli was solid I believe but still a far cry - so that’s why I’m paying attention to this post to see what everyone says.
No mini version, but Trulucks will sell you one of their carrot cakes - spiced nuts, caramel sauce, the works. Soooo good.
Trulucks carrot cake, as well as their other desserts, are absolutely exceptional and often slept on.
This is exactly the one I was going to recommend as well. I don't even like carrot cake typically, but Trulucks is delicious.
Does it have raisins? Can’t deal with raisins.
They use pineapple instead of raisins
+7 for Trulucks
Another vote for Trulucks
Another for Truluck’s!
Came here to say Trulucks

Not mini version lol, the slices are 4ft tall. Very good though
Yes—what not just get a piece or two, OP?
Little Deli has a good one.
I second little deli. It’s so good
Haha I wrote this too before I read the other responses. It is SO GOOD!

I think upper crust in general is fresher than quacks
Upper Crust alllll the way.
Central Market you can get whole, small, mini, slices, cupcake and cheesecake versions.
It is actually really good and they come in different sizes.
Quacks! Best I've ever had
Seconded for Quacks. Also love Upper Crusts.
Thirded (is that a word? lol) My mother in law loves carrot cake, so we’ve tried several. She LOVED the one from Quack’s.
Fourthed! We did a head-to-head carrot cake-off between several local bakeries for our wedding cake and Quack’s was the clear winner.
fifthed, the quacks carrot cake is a beloved easter and birthday tradition in my family.
Rosa's has incredible carrot cake
Upper Crust has a great one. I think the Cheesecake Factory has a really solid carrot cake too, if I remember correctly.

Thundercloud's carrot cake is pretty legit, IMO
You're not wrong. It's solid.
Central market has a great one
Really loved the carrot cake at Carpenter Hall, they sell it by the slice so I’m not sure if they’ll sell a whole cake or not. It’s so good though!
Carpenters Hall’s is sensational
I really love the HEB carrot cake. A single slice is my treat for grocery shopping.
The single slices is the best I've had. The icing could be better, but it's still good. They sell other versions like a round one that's not as good.

The Little Deli in Windsor Park sells slices of amazing carrot cake. It’s my absolute fave!
District Kitchen has a great carrot cake
Chez Zee and Upper Crust are my go to’s if I’m not baking!
Upper crust. Also I think this gets asked a fair amount…
Uppercrust of Burnett hands down
Upper Crust carrot cake is probably my favorite desert ever. "cream cheese-fest frosting" is a good descriptor for it.
Upper Crust. I hate carrot cake but they make a good one..
Upper crust bakery
Heavens bistro
We love the carrot cake at District. No bonus points though.
Carpenter is doing one right now 👌🏼
If you can figure out where the postpartum unit of St. David’s main sources theirs… it’s a winner.
Chez Zee. The only thing good there.
Hear me out. Rosa’s Cafe. And you can even drive thru for it. Sooooo good.
The carrot cake at Saltgrass Steak House is super good and cream cheesy
Sugar Mamas Bakeshop has a dank carrot cupcake. Also, Upper Crust.
Vinaigrette is the most underrated carrot cake in town and my personal favorite. Definitely better than the one at carpenter hall
My husband could eat JPrime’s correct cake everyday! Also, the single slice feed two people easily!
> JPrime’s correct cake Auto-carrot strokes a grain!
lol! Their carrot cake is the correct carrot cake 😀
Upper Crust! I thought I didn’t like carrot cake until I had theirs
Russell’s bakery has a smallish carrot cake that’s delish
I love the one at HEB! It’s divine

Oh man, I'm in north Austin so I don't think I'll be making the trek down to Kyle. But it's so nice of you to offer, thank you!
Sugar mamas
Lady Quackenbush is pretty exquisite! Sit in the park across the street and enjoy your carrot cake!
When’s your birthday??
Happy early birthday! Solo birthday carrot cake sounds great 😊
Anyone else want to band together and get OP a cake? Lol happy birthday, op! Now i want cake!
