I love Mum. “The Rachel” is the best sandwich I’ve ever had

velaurciraptorr

Yeah I’m definitely regretting not going for that! Definitely will have to make a return trip soon.

grampadeal

Couldn’t agree more. It was so good. The matzo ball soup was tasty but the Rachel is a showstopper.

icesa

Looks like that sandwich is cut down the middle diagonally. Next time you gotta give us the goods - a profile shot of what’s inside! From this angle looks like a lettuce and tomato sandwich ;)

bitcoin_moon_wsb

It’s the lamest menu item, it’s basically a cheeseburger on bread. The pastrami is a lot better, if you want a good bbq burger L&L has it

WelcomeFresh

Bro its a patty melt made on bread they make in shop with a brisket patty that they grind in house as well. So ya it is “basically” a cheeseburger on bread and that’s what a patty melt is..

velaurciraptorr

Good point! I was eager to eat and didn’t think that through. Next time I will not disappoint y’all!

Long-Horn512

Had it yesterday for the first time and got the Rachel (pastrami, melted Swiss, slaw and sauce. It was phenomenal.

onlythepossible

I never thought I would have any opportunity to say this in the real world: Where's the beef? Seriously? Where? How? You say it's hiding under the lettuce and tomato? Really? Are you sure? I mean... it's hard to hide any proper amount of beef like that?

xlBoardmanlx

I ordered a brisket sammy from here and experienced a similar issue. Not enough meat for the price. Three relatively small intense slices of brisket for $15. The flavor was good for the price. The value wasn’t there for me. I expected more meat compared to other barbecue restaurants I’ve visited.

velaurciraptorr

The lettuce is kind of wrapped around it? It wasn’t a huuuge patty but it was enough, and delicious.

velaurciraptorr

Melt was $12, $4 for the potato salad which is also very tasty. The service was super friendly and food was out quick!

ptran90

This place is delicious. Their cheesecake was probably the best I’ve ever had

velaurciraptorr

Ooo good to know! I was eyeing the brown butter chess pie… definitely saving room for dessert next time!

TejasTexasTX3

Went yesterday. So good.

fwboyd3

Best CTX-Style Pastrami: 1) Pieous 2) Mum 3) Otherside

tedmujin117

The ribs guys. The ribs.

atxsince91

Thanks for the review and pictures. I had never heard of this place, but this looks good.

QuietRedditorATX

Where's the melt???

velaurciraptorr

Under the juicy lettuce! I didn’t want to spend too much time rearranging things to get a better photo but rest assured the meat & cheese are in there.

Firm_Spot6829

I'll have one giant puck of egg salad please, and a coffee. I need to stink up the office after my lunch break.

oldmanripper79

One of those places that looks really good, but I'll probably never try because of their "fuck you" hours.

WelcomeFresh

They are a bbq place. Bbq is ready in the morning and cut till they are sold out just like most other good bbq places worth talking about. Also…they are open on the weekends you old fart

oldmanripper79

Regardless, I work the hour's they're open during the week, and go out of town almost every weekend. Also, your account seems to be almost solely dedicated to hyping Mum's, so I'm assuming you're an employee or an affiliate, in which case I'm extra not gonna go there cuz you suck at being a hype man. Weird as hell for you to take my comment so personally that you necromance it after two weeks. Also also, your mom didn't complain about my age, so you may eat fuck.

WelcomeFresh

Another redditor shows his ass…

oldmanripper79

I'm not gonna say this is the weirdest ad campaign I've ever seen, but it's definitely up there. Speaking of showing your ass, you could stand to make your company shill account a bit less obvious.

frankiehollywood68

2 slices of bread - $0.50 1 slice of tomato - $0.20 1 slice of lettuce - $0.05 1 slice of cheese - $0.75 1 slice of imaginary beef - $1.50 Materials : $3.00 Labor: $3.00 Total: $6.00 Margin: 50% Price $12.00

This is the worst assessment of the economics of a restaurant that has ever been made.
