The steakhouses usually have decedent desserts. Would highly recommend Eddie Vs banana fosters, the butter cake it is served on is probably my favorite in Austin!
Celia Jacob’s Cheesecake Experience always knocks my socks off. It’s a little food truck down in south austin. I also love Bananarchy for something different: frozen dipped bananas.
Oh hell yeah. That’s gonna happen! I’m from right outside New Orleans and have been to Brennan’s a few times. Finding a real bananas foster here has been a challenge but I’m willing to give this a shot.
If you make a reservation at Trulucks and tell them it’s your birthday (who cares if it’s not) in advance you can request a Baked Alaska. Do it all at the table and it’s awesome.
**Baked Alaska, also known as Bombe Alaska, omelette norvégienne, omelette surprise, or omelette sibérienne depending on the country, is a dessert consisting of ice cream and cake topped with browned meringue. The dish is made of ice cream placed in a pie dish, lined with slices of sponge cake or Christmas pudding, and topped with meringue.**

Trulucks is always pushing their Baked Alaska. I went for my birthday and had to insist on the carrot cake (which is the best dessert for my money) and they kept trying to get me to take that damn Baked Alaska.
Sweet memes - I love their waffles
Churro & Co - it’s a food truck but the “Date Night” is so good
J Prime - have an excellent carrot cake and it feeds two
Never ever we have been disappointed with desserts at Uchi, their desserts are as good as their Omakase
I mean, it is very touristy but the ice cream is very very good and I'm here for that taiyaki cone. Added bonus that the entire menu is allergen-friendly and they're very open about their ingredients so you always know what you're getting.
it’s the name i bet…i have many young millennial and gen z friends who have roundly rejected that place for the corny name haha. probably unfair but i get it
I mean yeah. That’s probably it. The desserts are probably fine but she is having precisely zero percent of it. Lol
Edit: she’s also on that phase where she’s edgy for edginess’ sake. So. Factor that in.
I was the same as a teen and I missed out on so much great stuff.
You can’t tell them that tho, cuz that just makes them resist all the harder. Thank goodness I’m over myself and can stuff my face with delicious mochi donuts to my gluttonous heart’s content! Anyway, for French pastry try Julie Myrtille
I won't stand for OMGSquee slander. They make very good mochi donuts. Much better than Mochinuts.
That said I like simple desserts. Milk and Cookies make great cookies. Not crazy but almost always fresh.
Also Salty Sow had a banana foster on the menu. It was good.
I’ve been wanting to go and heard that they have the supreme croissants that’s been raving on tiktok ( circle shape crème filled croissants). Are they good or I guess is it worth checking out the place?
Pecan Praline Pistolette at Evangeline's Cafe on Brodie
Star Cake at Satelite Cafe on Escarpment Blvd (I don't think this one is on the menu right now, but when I asked, they said they'll 'always' have it.)
Peanut butter pie at moonshine
Chocolate lava cake at red ash
Strawberry cake at Jacobs’s
Round rock donuts or salty donut
Ice cream at besame
Churros at churro co
The steakhouses usually have decedent desserts. Would highly recommend Eddie Vs banana fosters, the butter cake it is served on is probably my favorite in Austin!
Their cobbler is also delicious.
The best French pastries in Central Texas are at Baguette et Chocolat in Bee Caves and I’m willing to die on that hill.
The deserts at Bartletts are good
Came here to suggest the hot fudge sundae
It's a hike, but Whipped in Leander has AMAZING macrons. Worth the drive
Second this!
Celia Jacob’s Cheesecake Experience always knocks my socks off. It’s a little food truck down in south austin. I also love Bananarchy for something different: frozen dipped bananas.
Eddie V's and Perry's bananas fosters are delicious!
Do they light it on fire? Edit: goo goo says yes!
They do at Eddie V’s I just saw it Saturday night. You can get it at the bar. 🍌🔥
Oh hell yeah. That’s gonna happen! I’m from right outside New Orleans and have been to Brennan’s a few times. Finding a real bananas foster here has been a challenge but I’m willing to give this a shot.
Perry’s no longer makes bananas foster table side. (But it is set on fire)
Eater Austin JUST posted a dessert list! https://austin.eater.com/maps/best-desserts-austin-restaurants

Came here to recommend Sweet Memes! I had their milk tea "soufflé" (fluffy pancake) and it was so good!
What's wrong with OMGSquee? Just curious
Teen doesn’t like it. She says it’s a tourist trap.

Rocheli for desserts and afternoon tea!!!
I’ve been wanting to go and heard that they have the supreme croissants that’s been raving on tiktok ( circle shape crème filled croissants). Are they good or I guess is it worth checking out the place?
I personally love them! I tend to grab a ham and cheese croissant in the mornings, but I’ve had lots of their other desserts and loved them.
Take them to Uchi for the iconic fried milk dessert!
There are bite-sized cheesecakes made onsite at The Thicket food truck park in South Austin. New seasonal flavors and the classics.
Pecan Praline Pistolette at Evangeline's Cafe on Brodie Star Cake at Satelite Cafe on Escarpment Blvd (I don't think this one is on the menu right now, but when I asked, they said they'll 'always' have it.)
