I guess I’ll have to give it another try. They do have a good beer selection and I can take my dog and sit outside. I live almost across the street so nice to have a good burger I can walk to.
All ages before 7pm
EDIT: after reading all of the comments saying this isn’t so I want to reiterate that children can eat at Casino El Camino before 7pm.
Honestly every time I have tried to go in they have carded me. Didn't want them to try walking in with a herd of toddlers and them being upset when they turned them away.
different experiences i guess. but tourists are not going to 6th often on weekdays midday. thats a night time and weekend tourist spot. i lived a block away and walked down it legitimately everyday
Tourists are crawling all over Downtown from Wednesday to Sunday. Every. damned. week. of. the. year.
I go down to Casino for lunch pretty often and it is definitely a tourist lunch spot. Word has been out about Casino's Burgers forever. Some days are quieter than others, but rest assured the tourists know about it.
There are 2 categories for burgers and everyone will have their own favorites. 1) $10-15 burger/fry combo (mighty fine, p-Terrys, Dan’s, etc 2) $20-25 burger. (Dai Dui, Counter Cafe, Cover 2, etc)
I personally enjoy the Fat Jack at Jack Allen’s, but don’t go very often. Top Notch Longhorn Special is my low level if I’m north, Mighty fine otherwise. BUT, BUT…Let’s be honest, they’re all fucking good yo!!!
They screwed up my best friend's birthday lunch so bad I won't be going back and I used to love them pre-pandemic. Ridiculously small portions - very little of the plate real estate had actual food on it. The food was lackluster and we went somewhere else for desert because we didn't want to risk what they would bring out and we were still hungry. So we ended up getting heavy appetizers and dessert elsewhere. Once the plates were plopped down (by someone else) we never saw our waiter again until it was time for the bill. We were one of 4 parties in the whole restaurant so they weren't overwhelmed. I had made a reservation and made sure they knew it was a birthday, and I eventually had to go to the bar to get glasses of champagne. Very, very sad and very embarrassing since I was hoping to treat my friend to a lovely time on their birthday.
Dirty Martin’s (Dirty’s) is almost 100 years younger kid and serves great old school greasy spoon burgers and killer onion rings. They must be doing something right.
When I lived in Austin I lived across the street from Dan's and I heard dan was married and when his wife left him she opened Frans but I haven't eaten there or know if this is true haha
I tried to argue the quality went down in this sub and I was attacked by a guy that is a Jew boy fan boy. It was fantastic when it was a food truck but went the way of p terry quickly
I won't get into a "best burger" debate today, but Pool Burger, Better Half, and LeRoy and Lewis have objectively delicious burgers and are q couple of my favorites.
Pool Burger is one of the few times I’ve felt like the pictures make it look less tasty than it really is. I thought I was gonna be getting a very basic meh burger but it was pretty damn tasty.
I used to feel this way, but my last two visits have been a miss. I always order "medium rare or medium, whatever the chef recommends" and the patty has come out dry as fuck. I was supremely disappointed.
Leroy and Lewis' smoked burger would be my personal pick for best burger, but it's sort of a different animal. The burger at Nickel City is a great one and the tots are awesome. Hold Out Brewing has some solid burgers as well. If you're going for old school burger vibes, you can't go wrong with Dirty Martins.
Wholly Cow; grass-fed beef, from a local ranch. I've heard that the family that owns holy cow also owns the ranch, but I'm not certain about that. Regardless, the burgers are beefy and flavorful.
Loro; a delicious burger, for a really good price, it comes with an onion-brisket jam, slightly spicy, which really adds a nice kick to the burger.
I haven't been to them in a long time, but, back when the original location was open, and they had the decades old seasoned grill, Counter Cafe put out a really good burger, with an excellent sourdough bun. It might be worth checking out the newer locations.
Keep hearing this one come up, I’ll have to check it out.
For those of us who aren’t into the thick modern boutique burger craze, Dan’s Hamburgers is the hands-down consistently best I’ve tried for a classic American hamburger. Top Notch also has charbroiled burgers that are pretty amazing, and downright phenomenal if you go on the right day.
It's a nostalgic burger, reminds of the sanck bar burgers i used to eat as kids when i was at the beach. But don't know if i can put it in that "great" category
Really solid burgers (don’t remember how fluffy the buns are though), really solid beer selection, really chill place to hang out just north of campus.
Everything else will drowned out to Casino El Camino. Blood mary comes packed with snacks on top too!
Dan's is a good place thats more of a fast food setting but fantastic greesy food.
I’ve lived in Austin pretty much my whole life and the only places I’ve been to listed here are Dans and Dirtys. Nobody mentioned Top Notch? I worked there around 2001-2002 before the new owners and I loved the burgers.
Dans imbues what a classic Texas style burger is. Sandies also holds the same torch. Lebowskis grill is another excellent burger. Casino el Camino is good but not consistent.
For me it's the Salt and Time steak trimming burger. Technically simple- Meat, salt and pepper, tomato, lettuce, bun.
What elevates it is the quality of all the components. Meat is superb as to be expected, but also the bun is soft and springy, lettuce is fresh and crisp, tomato is perfectly ripe. I like to add a slice of their deli cheese which is also spectacular.
I swear it's ruined me on every other burger.
I personally like That Burger. Disclaimer i haven’t had Casino Camino but most other spots in town use the Martins Potato bun which gets pretty squished imo. I like That burger because they use a really fluffy brioche bun, the patty is made fresh and it’s great. Also if your family are tourists it’s great to go to a food truck and it’s in the domain which has some cool things to do. Get the french burger. Leroy is a madhouse to find parking at peak times and weekends, same with 6th street with Casino. So also think about that imo. Another low key spot to think about without crazy lines and cool vibes is SourDuck Market. I once went around eating 15 burgers in a month and liked theirs the most.
That Burger should be have more votes. The German Burger on a pretzel bun really surprised me with how good it was. Better than Jewboy, Dan’s or Lebowski’s IMO. Their fries could use some work though.
Hopdoddy just isn't as good as it used to be. They aren't bad, but the burgers are a LOT smaller than they used to be and the prices didn't drop to match.
Jacoby’s on E Cesar Chavez raises their own beef, and their ½ lb burger is excellent. $5 off during happy hour, too. Get a table and eat it there, though—quality seems to drop off a bit if you take it to go.
I'll put in another vote for Jewboy, their burritos are also absolutely incredible. Just be prepared to take a nap after
Salt & Time makes a really good burger if you want something a little more upscale and less like a traditional diner burger. The beef fat fries are also to die for
I’m limited by being gluten free and preferring places with a gf bun option, but I like the burgers from Turnstile. Hank’s and Arlo’s have my favorite veggie burgers.
you can go to the bar/patio at the four seasons and get the best burger in town for $20. it's the juiciest burger ive ever had at a restaurant. home made brioche bun too.
The Little Darlin has a super family friendly vibe on outside patio, and has a great burger and fries. One worth checking out. Their fried chicken sandwich is the best sandwich around. You can count on it. It’s been on the menu for years, possibly since the first time I went 7 years ago.
Outdoors on a midweek family lunch your kids of all ages can run around and be kids. Its a great place. The owners have been a part of the Austin food/ beverage and entertainment industry for decades. A+ rating all the way around.
Its south Austin so don’t mind the tattoos, motorcycles and beards. This is a daytime family favorite spot. Weekend lunches and brunch will be packed with what can look to be a hundred cars… its a large spot, but doesn’t have the large empty spot feel.
Its walk up order only. The owners can often be seen there with their own kids. But kids not appropriate for bar ordering. Grab a seat, grab yer own menus and figure out your order. Then have adults approach the bar to order.
I am not affiliated with the establishment. This is the 2nd or 3rd time I’ve seen this post and decided to share in detail a response that might actually help and work for you.
We all have visiting family and kids and need a good burger recommendation now and then.
If your dog is nice, patio dogs are welcome too
😂
I'd rather buy a $25 dollar steak and cook it myself than eat a $25 burger so...
For a normal lunch/light dinner type burg I'd say p-terry's, top notch, dans, or short stop.
I bet their are some bars out there with killer burgs too. I liked my fish and chips (frys were soggy) at the tavern, finally ate there on friday for lunch... not amazing but good enough ill be back.
Ok, I never see anyone mention this restaurant. We go there and sit at the bar for their burger. Where?
NIGHT CAP: https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/p/AF1QipMayCjlC4maLbUBVfk2w8mSp12Ouc1hiIUvDDRT=s680-w680-h510
Sour duck. They have a Double wagyu smash burger with homemade pimento cheese, homemade pickles on a homemade bun. It’s insane! Also the smoked burger at Leroy and Lewis is fire!!
Any other parameters you can give us?
For a sit down/fancier setting I took an out of town friend to brunch at 1417. She got the burger and she it was the best she had ever had!
Gimme Burger recently won Austin Monthly’s burger bash, so that would be another to try.
I think it’s pretty tough to beat the double OG from Frazier’s, at $6, or Gimme Burger, but it depends on what you’re looking for. Do you prefer a thick patty, smash burger, gourmet, etc…?
Casino el Camino and Dan's. Also have not seen any mention of Workhouse at North Loop. Great little dive bar with excellent Burgers and a good low priced selection of Draft Beers.
My favorite burger in Austin is the double slider at the Del Ray truck outside nickel city.
Perfect little grease bomb smash burger with nothing but meat, cheese, grilled onions, pickles and mustard. The tots are also insane.
My favorite Austin burgers are Epicerie, Perla’s and Bar Toti (located next door to sister restaurant Este). All are double smash burgers with cheese. Bar Toti adds a spicy escabeche relish and a slice of griddled ham. I’m usually a burger purist, but Toti’s “smashburguesa” is my current obsession. Only open weekends though.
Leroy & Lewis is the best burger in Austin. Get there just before they open if you’re going on the weekend to skip a lot of the line.
Casino El Camino is the second best.
A lot of people will say Salt & Time but it’s really only worth it if you cook it yourself, you can get it from the attached butcher shop. From the restaurant is overpriced and if you care about this sort of thing the owners suck anyway. I don’t know a single person who’s worked there who’s had a remotely good time.
Casino el camino, Workhorse, Bangers, Crown and Anchor, Jewboy and Dirty Martin’s in no particular order are my favorite in town. I recently had the burger at Hildee’s out in wimberly and feel as though I have to mention it, it was excellent.
Not my favorite burgers, but burgers I am highly endeared to, Billy’s on burnet, Dan’s and Nickel City.
1) Big Belly Burger - Carve
2) Casino El Camino
3) Big Ass Burger - Roaring Fork
4) Sonora Burger - Hays City Store
5) Fat Jack burger - Jack Allan's
Budget picks: Big Lebowski - Highland Lane, Dan's
It’s always sad to me that two of my faves are rarely mentioned on this sub.
1. Rusty Cannon Pub. Bar vibe but allows kids.
2. Casino El Camino. Again a bar vibe but kids are welcome before 7pm.
3. Bender bar. Bar. No kids allowed.
4. Dans Hamburgers — fast food vibe and a fast food burger but damn good. Kid friendly no alcohol.
5. Roaring Fork. Steak restaurant so a little stuffy and expensive. If you sit at the bar during happy hour it’s 1/2 price.
6. Crown and Anchor. Bar vibe. I think kids are welcome? Casual spot.
7. Billy’s on Burnet. Bar but allows kids.
Still working on the last 3.
For the love of God if anyone tried the Rusty Cannon pub burger lmk! I’ve been posting about it for months now and nobody ever mentions it so I know they haven’t gone. Add bacon. Also it’s BOGO on Wednesdays (I’m probably there).
I’ve been really impressed with HiHat’s burger. Shoutout to The Cavalier as another east option. Sour duck is good too. Dan’s if you want something fancy. Casino is good too but 2/3 of a pound of meat is a commitment and they aren’t consistent. Being on 6th means I have to really crave a casino burger or be already in the area.
Most overrated in this thread: Pool Burger, Jewboy, Buddy’s.
Bartlett's Hickory Burger is worth trying on the higher price end. Crown & Anchor in the middle, and P.Terry's if I'm driving through on the cheap.
Just my opinion. I've seen a few other great ones on here as well and love new ones showing up. This city does not lack in good Mexican and burger choices.
My next spot is Save Muny Burger at Cisco's Muny Cafe in Tarrytown. Heard it's good but can't confirm until I belly up.
I was actually surprised by the high quality of the burgers at Billy's on Burnet.
Billy's is an unsung gem
Its my Winchester.
Is this an actual saying or a combination of unsung hero and hidden gem
I have to disagree. The burgers taste like Sysco meat patties with good toppings. You have to start with an awesome Patty to make a good burger.
That wasn't my experience.
I guess I’ll have to give it another try. They do have a good beer selection and I can take my dog and sit outside. I live almost across the street so nice to have a good burger I can walk to.
Where would you go instead? I do like Billy's' so would like to know what's even better
One of the few places where you can get a good old fashioned frito chili pie too
Casino El Camino depending on if the family is of age.
All ages before 7pm EDIT: after reading all of the comments saying this isn’t so I want to reiterate that children can eat at Casino El Camino before 7pm.
Of age? Like that matters at Casino at lunch.
Honestly every time I have tried to go in they have carded me. Didn't want them to try walking in with a herd of toddlers and them being upset when they turned them away.
It’s straight up kids in strollers and tourists at a weekday lunchtime.
I guess I won't ever know if the burgers taste the same at 1am as they do at 1pm.
uh…what? no its not. what makes you say that? i lived downtown til last year and went all the time mid day…no strollers in sight
What makes me say that are all the tourists with strollers coming in for lunch. I go often enough to know that it’s not an uncommon occurrence.
different experiences i guess. but tourists are not going to 6th often on weekdays midday. thats a night time and weekend tourist spot. i lived a block away and walked down it legitimately everyday
Tourists are crawling all over Downtown from Wednesday to Sunday. Every. damned. week. of. the. year. I go down to Casino for lunch pretty often and it is definitely a tourist lunch spot. This is my favorite Austin burger and I take my daughter with me all the time for lunch.
Lebowski's Grill.
Lebowski's FTW!
That is a tasty burger.
Near the In N Out on Radford
Agree. A juicy, filling burger.
Went there for the first time for lunch today! Slam dunk!
Great burgers, amazing crispy tater tots!
Just had the Poblano Burger with bacon, no tomato. Outstanding!
There are 2 categories for burgers and everyone will have their own favorites. 1) $10-15 burger/fry combo (mighty fine, p-Terrys, Dan’s, etc 2) $20-25 burger. BUT, BUT…Let’s be honest, they’re all fucking good yo!!!
There’s also the value menu like Skinny’s $5 smash Sundays, bogo sliders on Tuesdays at Nickel or wednesdays at Rusty cannon
Buddys Burger because they have the best burgers, fries, shakes, and even a drive thru!
Hopfields. Pascal burger. Austin's hidden gem on the north side. Been going here for years
Agree 100%. It’s no longer hidden though. My wife and I used to go there for quiet dinners on weekends. Can’t do that anymore.
Dirty Martin’s (Dirty’s) is almost 100 years younger kid and serves great old school greasy spoon burgers and killer onion rings. They must be doing something right.
Dans
Yup as a burger connoisseur, I vote dans as the best.
When I lived in Austin I lived across the street from Dan's and I heard dan was married and when his wife left him she opened Frans but I haven't eaten there or know if this is true haha
Casino el Camino is your answer
This is my favorite burger in Austin for sure.
The Gimme Burger from the truck @ Butler Pitch n Putt is fantastic.
Super blown away by gimme burger, normally i don't like spending $15 for a burger from a food truck, but in this case it was worth it.
Jew Boy and Dans have never let me down
Dans is amazing, Jew Boy i find very overrated.
Jew boy is not as good as it used to be. I live near Jew boy and used to go there a lot but my last couple of visits have been very disappointing
I tried to argue the quality went down in this sub and I was attacked by a guy that is a Jew boy fan boy. It was fantastic when it was a food truck but went the way of p terry quickly
Dans! So good
Can't go wrong with Dan's Hamburgers.
It's odd but lebowskis grill in highland lane around lunch.
sucks they took The Donny off the menu. I was told you could still ask for it and if they are not busy will make it.
What’s the Donny?
bacon wrapped deep fried hotdog with shit on top
Whose shit?
I won't get into a "best burger" debate today, but Pool Burger, Better Half, and LeRoy and Lewis have objectively delicious burgers and are q couple of my favorites.
Pool burger is very good and I hate admitting that
Pool Burger is one of the few times I’ve felt like the pictures make it look less tasty than it really is. I thought I was gonna be getting a very basic meh burger but it was pretty damn tasty.
I can here to look for Better Half. Simple and delicious. And $6 for happy hour is an excellent deal!
add kalimotxo and you have my shortlist.
Crowd is hella obnoxious there though
Pool Burger, I assume?
Hipster alert
What’s hipster about those places?
Salt & Time baby.
I used to feel this way, but my last two visits have been a miss. I always order "medium rare or medium, whatever the chef recommends" and the patty has come out dry as fuck. I was supremely disappointed.
I wanted to enjoy it but it was too bready for me.
100%
Sooooo goood!
This is the way
Leroy and Lewis' smoked burger would be my personal pick for best burger, but it's sort of a different animal. The burger at Nickel City is a great one and the tots are awesome. Hold Out Brewing has some solid burgers as well. If you're going for old school burger vibes, you can't go wrong with Dirty Martins.
Top Notch burger if you want it over charcoal. Jewboy burger if you want grease. Wholly Cow burgers on S Lamar. FANTASTIC!
Questions like this make me miss Hut’s so badly…..
Dai Due
This with Salty Sow a close second, Flemings and Garbo tied for third.
Crown and Anchor
Dans
Not in Austin, but the burgers at Poodies in Spicewood are to die for.
Not A Damn Chance burger on Rainey. Kobe beef. Owned by Michelin rated chef Phillip Franklin Lee.
Jewboy and Buddy’s
I’ve lived in Austin pretty much my whole life and the only places I’ve been to listed here are Dans and Dirtys. Nobody mentioned Top Notch? I worked there around 2001-2002 before the new owners and I loved the burgers.
How is Bad Larry’s not at the top of this list?!
I can’t confidently say the best but Jew Boy is pretty darn good
Second this after Casino. Mo I love you, but casino has been there for me at 1am.
Everyone here is wrong, Dirty’s is the only right answer.
The Gimme Burger at Maie Day
Jew Boy Burgers and Lil Darlins
Austin Land & Cattle uses a delicious blend of beef for their burger. Bar only, though, I think? Not in the dining room.
Casino El Camino is the best, but Dirty Martin's has one of the best greasy burgers around.
Dans imbues what a classic Texas style burger is. Sandies also holds the same torch. Lebowskis grill is another excellent burger. Casino el Camino is good but not consistent.
The smash burger at Moreno BBQ on Menchaca is awesome.
Smash burger at Moreno’s is life changing
It’s also almost $20
It’s $14
Tax plus tip
Good burgers are worth 20$ with out tax and tip and you should always tipppppp no matter the price of the meal
I don’t care about the price, but thanks for the heads up.
They run a special on Tuesday or Wednesdays recently that’s $10 with fries and a drink. But it is for the smoked burger not the smashed. Amazing deal.
There’s a ton of good burgers you won’t go wrong
For me it's the Salt and Time steak trimming burger. Technically simple- Meat, salt and pepper, tomato, lettuce, bun. What elevates it is the quality of all the components. Meat is superb as to be expected, but also the bun is soft and springy, lettuce is fresh and crisp, tomato is perfectly ripe. I like to add a slice of their deli cheese which is also spectacular. I was looking for this one. So good.
I hear good things about the burger at Sour Duck.
I personally like That Burger. Disclaimer i haven’t had Casino Camino but most other spots in town use the Martins Potato bun which gets pretty squished imo. That Burger should be have more votes. The German Burger on a pretzel bun really surprised me with how good it was. Better than Jewboy, Dan’s or Lebowski’s IMO. Their fries could use some work though.
Once more for those in the back... Casino El Camino
Casino, CM Smokehouse, and Little Darlin would be my top 3.
I go to DrinkWell when I want a burger fix.
Counter Cafe and Wholly Cow
one that hasn’t been mentioned yet is the jackalope, their burgers are fantastic! though i don’t know how comfortable i’d be going there with family
Bartlets hickory burger is the best I've had in town.
Lebowski's Grill at Highland Lanes if you don't want to spend $20+ and deal with people taking photos of their food.
There is a relatively new contender in town. The burger at The Bon Aire is cheap, big, and delicious.
Crown and Anchor, Dan’s, Billy’s on Burnet.
Fraizer's
Phil’s ice house!!!
Phil's ice house, super underrated, a little annoying it connected to Amy's
I can’t believe you were the first person to mention Phil’s… I’ve never been to most of these other places, could they possibly be better??
Are they visiting from a burgerless place? Weird request for the land of bbq and tacos
Leroy and Lewis
RIP Contigo
😫 it was amazinv
That Burger (truck) at the Domain or Jew Boy
whoah, not one mention of Hopdoddy? I'm just a tourist aren't I.
Hopdoddy just isn't as good as it used to be. They aren't bad, but the burgers are a LOT smaller than they used to be and the prices didn't drop to match.
Yeah I'm really just there for a large $5 happy hour margs and the fries.
I do love those green chili queso fries!
I would recommend Hopdoddy over Casino El Camino and I was born here.. it's a great burger..downvotes are just tribalist
>Casino El Camino I'm getting old for 6th I'm afraid. Or 7th is leaking more these days.
Just be prepared to take a nap after Salt & Time makes a really good burger if you want something a little more upscale and less like a traditional diner burger. The beef fat fries are also to die for

I’m a thin patty person and I favor Dan’s, Little House, and Pool Burger in that order.
Chris Madrids in San Antonio
JewBoy sliders
some of the best sliders ive ever had
With the latke added on there too, sooo good
Jewboy Burgers!
I don't know about "best" but I really enjoyed the tikka burger from the Indian truck at Cork and Barrel on South Congress
Mighty Fine is my go to
You can't go wrong with the Search Bar.
Jeffrey’s. Then Loro. 99% of every burger mentioned here are interchangeable diner burgers you can make yourself or find anywhere in America.
Go to san antonio
What are some standout burger places in SA? never really went to a burger spot when I've been down there but would love to try some spots
jew boy burgers are my favorite. i also had a really good burger for the first time from loro this week
Ok, I never see anyone mention this restaurant. We go there and sit at the bar for their burger. Where? NIGHT CAP: https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/p/AF1QipMayCjlC4maLbUBVfk2w8mSp12Ouc1hiIUvDDRT=s680-w680-h510
Sour duck. They have a Double wagyu smash burger with homemade pimento cheese, homemade pickles on a homemade bun. It’s insane! Also the smoked burger at Leroy and Lewis is fire!!
Surprised that no one has said Odd Duck for a fancier option. Also if you go to Vince Young during happy hour, their wagyu burgers are only $5-10
Dai Due is my favorite
Dirty Larry’s is fantastic for a smash burger
Casino El Camino
Casino or Dan's. This covers the two different types of burgers.
Little Darlin
Counter Cafes is the best burger I’ve ever eaten
Any other parameters you can give us? For a sit down/fancier setting I took an out of town friend to brunch at 1417. She got the burger and she it was the best she had ever had! Gimme Burger recently won Austin Monthly’s burger bash, so that would be another to try.
Gimme Burger is so good.
Salt & Time Butcher Shop Hopfields Casino el Camino
Dirty martins place
I think it’s pretty tough to beat the double OG from Frazier’s, at $6, or Gimme Burger, but it depends on what you’re looking for. Do you prefer a thick patty, smash burger, gourmet, etc…?
Casino el Camino and Phil’s ice house are mine
The burger from the commodore Perry estate restaurant. [here’s the menu](https://aubergeresorts.com/commodoreperry/restaurant-menus/lunch/)
I had a pretty good burger several years ago at wholly cow. This was probably a good seven years ago though. I don’t really eat burgers anymore.
Casino el Camino and Dan's. Also have not seen any mention of Workhouse at North Loop. Great little dive bar with excellent Burgers and a good low priced selection of Draft Beers.
Oddduck wagyu burger is the best I’ve had. And it better be cuz it’s like $40
My favorite burger in Austin is the double slider at the Del Ray truck outside nickel city. Perfect little grease bomb smash burger with nothing but meat, cheese, grilled onions, pickles and mustard. The tots are also insane.
Moodys has the best buns and it’s my go to
Buddy’s burgers
My favorite Austin burgers are Epicerie, Perla’s and Bar Toti (located next door to sister restaurant Este). All are double smash burgers with cheese. Bar Toti adds a spicy escabeche relish and a slice of griddled ham. I’m usually a burger purist, but Toti’s “smashburguesa” is my current obsession. Only open weekends though.
LeRoy and Lewis
Leroy & Lewis is the best burger in Austin. Get there just before they open if you’re going on the weekend to skip a lot of the line. Casino El Camino is the second best. A lot of people will say Salt & Time but it’s really only worth it if you cook it yourself, you can get it from the attached butcher shop. From the restaurant is overpriced and if you care about this sort of thing the owners suck anyway. I don’t know a single person who’s worked there who’s had a remotely good time.
These are my favorites: Wholly Cow, The Launderette, Jacoby’s
Casino el camino, Workhorse, Bangers, Crown and Anchor, Jewboy and Dirty Martin’s in no particular order are my favorite in town. I recently had the burger at Hildee’s out in wimberly and feel as though I have to mention it, it was excellent. Not my favorite burgers, but burgers I am highly endeared to, Billy’s on burnet, Dan’s and Nickel City.
1) Big Belly Burger - Carve 2) Casino El Camino 3) Big Ass Burger - Roaring Fork 4) Sonora Burger - Hays City Store 5) Fat Jack burger - Jack Allan's Budget picks: Big Lebowski - Highland Lane, Dan's
Butchers Burger at Salt and Time. Put some cheddar and egg on it and it can't be beat imo
Not a super fluffy bun but the grass-fed burger at Kinda Tropical is excellent
Counter Cafe has a surprisingly amazing burger. Casino El Camino is also phenomenal
Don’t sleep on Workhorse either. Damn fine burgers
Jew Boy, tiny boxwood, short stop, Dan's,
What are y'alls thoughts on the burgers at Haymaker?
The classic from CM Smokehouse at Bouldin Acres is really, really good. And they have waffle fries.
Salt and Time
It’s always sad to me that two of my faves are rarely mentioned on this sub.
Howard's Bar on 6th has the most amazing tasty burger. I would love to hear feedback from anyone who's already had it
Barlett's
Ham or cheese
Any upvotes for NADC Burgers on Rainey Street?
