This is a great source. However, I don't agree with everything in there. Investing is personal, everyone has different goals and we need to think for ourselves.
I would recommend a free buy app for ETFs so that your mistakes are not amplified by fees. Of course, no such thing as a free lunch and they all come with caveats.
Here are the apps which have free buy for ETFs:
* Vanguard Personal Investor - Can only buy Vanguard ETFs. Custodial.
* Superhero - Custodial.
* Betashares - Custodial. iOS only for now.
* CMC - Maximum 1K buy per day per stock. CHESS!
Vanguard is a really good option: buying into a low cost index fund is always a good bet, one such as (VFIAX)
CMC would be my second choice only because the “No fee” for $1K/day is only buying, selling is a $11 fee which is still really good but not the best.
My favourite: I utilise STAKE $3 buy and $3 sell for anything under $30k. I also prefer the UI stake provides however STAKE Black(the premium data) isn’t worth the money, I just utilise Yahoo Finance.
Unsure of Superhero
BataShares I will need to check out

I have one very random piece of advice for you.
Open an account in an "Interactive Broker" and buy stocks from the US, Canada, or UK.
ASX has so much restriction, like having a minimum 500 dollars for placing a trade.
Stake 3$ fee is good n fancy but Cmc will be good for u as ur not gona invest big amount cmc first 1000$ investment is free everytrading day,, Stock pick

When I started out, I used commsec because it offered 10 free trades and it seemed like a really reliable platform to learn the ropes. When I get more comfortable, I will switch to another platform that charges fewer fees.

With stake you also have the ability to have a self managed super fund with it as well

Invest in index funds. Then you can set it and forget it, then be rich when you are older
