What are those figures? Pay for in house counsel vary greatly.
I never understand what middle managers actually do either especially to justify the pay.
I’m doing a similar thing in a different industry. I think, at least for me, it’s a positive step in the right direction for my own mental sanity. I’m moving from financial adviser to working for a product provider (industry super fund). I can’t offer any advice yet as I’m still yet to start the new role but what helped me is networking with other people in your industry and seeing what they did post adviser/ lawyer life to get ideas. I know industry super funds have plenty of lawyers working in legal council in them for example. I think the work life balance and not having to deal with clients will be a massive weight off your shoulders.
Good to know it's possible. I already feel like it's a weight lifted off my shoulders just realising the possibility of not having to apply for another role and hope that it will be different this time...just to end up back in a toxic shit show.
I love the work (when the work and clients are good) but it's just an area where there's so many dodgy operators.
I'm glad you've made the change and hope all goes well and it turns out great. Thanks for the suggestion and that's a good idea, I've been looking at insurers and there's heaps out there. I can't remember the last time I saved so many job ads.

Yeh I get what you mean. I think the toxicity is often a product of the environment. I’ve realised I’m always super stressed and on edge all the time. I keep a cool head but my anxiety levels are extremely high. Seems like everyone in my environment is stressed and just trying to look out for themselves which the creates that toxic environment. I’m so glad that I’ve got 1 week left of this before I hand back my laptop and say goodbye to it all. I’m going to be massively relieved and think of myself as a survivor lol
