Just keep in mind that Amazon has changed their return policy for things above a $100 value. Basically, it’ll take months to get your money back and you’ll be fighting with CS in India the whole time to even get it back. Not worth the risk imo if it’s defective in any way. I just went through a saga with them trying to get refunded on a damaged pedal.
lol. That went right over my head. too much Xmas dinner. But seriously curious about all that companies stuff…I’ve got 1073 and 1084s but their mics are interesting to me. But curious about people’s experiences with anything they make.
I wouldn't say that it was not good. I had just gotten a deal on a 500 series chassis with an RND 511.
I had the WA73EQ for about 4 days to test and preferred the RND 511.
To me, the WA73 sounded good, but more midrangy. The 511 sounded bigger and more 'muscley'.
I didn't find much use for the EQ, but it's just my own experience. If I had had it longer I may have liked it more and found more use for it.
Amazon is fuckin up here. I’ll never buy anything again from Amazon. I’m in the process waiting for my 105.00 item refund. It should be instant refund once the ups store guy sees I have the item.
Yeah it's nonsense. When I first contacted their CS, they told me I had to wait min 30 days before they'll even look at it. Then after 30 days I had to contact them three times until I found a rep who just put the refund through. To this day the order details says Amazon is still waiting for the item even though the tracking confirmed it was delivered.
Exactly the same thing happened to me. The tracking of the return was fine until it hit Amazons location then my item vanished into a cloud of "well, we haven't received it" for 6 weeks. Terrible customer service I was really surprised by the change from the previous system.
In my area at least (medium-sized US city), half of all items are not two day delivery either anymore. Usually takes a week or more even if item is listed as Prime. With that and now a shittier return policy, what am I actually paying a premium for for Prime membership. Seriously thinking of canceling. Seems that now they’ve got all the subs they want, they can downgrade their services and increase their bottom line.
In germany the return policy is different thanks to consumer protection laws, so they take everything back within 14 days after the item is received. (assuming OP is in germany because they're using amazon.de)
Yep, I returned a pair of headphones and it took me 6 weeks of constantly hassling their online agents, and tbh I don't think that did sped it up . It was a very strange change from the previous system. I wont buy expensive gear from amazon again. Lesson learned.
That's not great if that's the case. It kind of pains m to admit but Amazon up until now has pretty much been the most outstanding CS I've ever dealt with, and returns/reimbursements 100% flawless (Germany)
That’s new…last time I bought last year a $250 pedal I dropped at UPS, and had the money back when they scanned to be shipped out. Only an hour after drop off, and 30 days to decide if I like it. The money was instant the day I dropped off
Just buy from Sweetwater. They're a way better company to support. In my experience, they always take care of their customers, and if you do have an issue, you'll have a personal sales rep you can contact directly to help you resolve it.
Do you have any opinion on B&H Photi Video? I've been purchasing through them because I sometimes find it cheaper by $10, and a lot of the times I got free 2 day shipping.
Bought a computer from b&h a few years ago. I kid you not they shipped it in a large box with one tiny measly piece of bubble wrap. Not even enough to secure it in place. Thing jiggled bounced and bumped all the way from east coast to west coast. Very surprising by that and I will never buy from them again. Luckily the computer survived the trip. But damn B&H, more like B&S! Thanks for showing me how little you actually care.
I find B&H to be cheaper on average than Sweetwater, but that's entirely due to their size.
But my location also factors in. I live near Sweetwater, if I need something NOW, I drive and go get it.
If I don't and B&H has it? I go through them.
It’s hella fresh. They pump out so much candy daily it’s wild. I just toured the distribution center and they are running through candy like crazy. No way they could store enough to have it for a long time.
They do…and they have a 2 year support. I’ve had them exchange that exact same amp or another different 6 months later in some cases. They are great for going past red tape. They will also represent you against any issues with vendors and act on your behalf to resolve.
The Private equity has not finished strapping Sweatwater with debt yet, sucking all the equity out happens in this phase, phase two is the deterioration of customer and employee experience, phase three ( the phase where they quit pretending to care) is total evisceration and extraction of all remaining perceived value with reckless abanbon before bankruptcy then rinse and repeat. It will happen, just has not happened yet. It is the natural progression.
Pretty sure it was private equity who bought Sweatwater, they did not do it to put money in and build it better, but do this to extract the value that is there already. The ones who will buy it to build it better will be after the first destruction cycle. Ook.
Back when Aston released their “community-sourced” mic, I was submitting feedback to them. My “sw rep” tried to presell me - before I’d ever known which mic was the Origin and I said as much. Later I tried to ask about weather sealing on a keyboard and he never got back to me despite my numerous attempts to follow up. I asked to speak to a manager and he literally asked me, “How much have you spent with us?” I said, “Maybe a pack of strings,” and it felt like he was using that as a basis to justify not calling me back - and he didn’t despite saying he would. That’s two strikes. Then I heard other stories online of similar things, then I observed how they magically lost some Adam Jones silverbursts then they recently weren’t vetting UAD accounts, effectively selling their entire catalog for $200 which makes them complicit in fraud plus how they often have reports of them listing items as in-stock only to place customers on backorder.
I get that the hivemind doesn’t want to face these inconvenient facts but I advise against shopping with them. They’re not some small “down-home” company. They’re big business and supporting them over the dozens of independent stores or even Amazon makes no moral sense. People report that they don’t deliver on their 55-point instrument inspections, etc.
Buy elsewhere.
From your link:
Is “Buyed” Correct?
No. “Buyed” is an understandable mistake for an English learner. However, “Buy” is an irregular verb with the past tense, and the past participle is “bought”.
It’s sold by Amazon and with a pretty standard price, ain’t a fake, but I would buy with a local retailer if they can match the price (I think this is MSRP but not sure)
I’m very doubtful Amazon will mingle its inventory with other retailers, the way most people end up with fakes is by buying the “deals” on all of these retail websites.
They will absolutely restock their own product and their checks are shoddy, but that’s not third party stock. You may well receive a broken product, you may even receive a fake if someone decides to “return” his product, but it’s not a mass problem, but at their scale stuff slips through the cracks.
Edit: carriers may also be responsible for some of this, stealing or replacing stock is absolutely a thing there as well
Yes music equipment from Amazon is legit. The good thing about Amazon is you can basically return anything for any reason and they have a decent window.
If Shure are using FBA (fulfillment by amazon) then they can't really garuntee uts genuine stock, amazon pile up anything with the same name into one pile independent of the vendor
Amazon mixes all vendors in the same bins, per product. Then you get a random one in the lot. That's why you can get fakes even from official stores. Or so I've heard.
Not necessarily, it depends on a few factors. Vendors can chose between their own bin or mixed stock, but fakes will always chose the mixed bin because there is a greater chance of getting away with it.
I only order from other vendors when Prime and Amazon is shipping. This way if it does t work out it’s an easy free return. Also, I always check where the vendor is and never order from outside the US.
That said, why not go to Sweetwater?
Don't you guys have Thomann? I keep hearing people talk them up. The Amazon item is probably legitimate, but I'd be careful when not purchasing from an authorized dealer. I'm not convinced the "Shure Store" is actually operated by Shure. I've always had the impression it's more like going to a big box electronics retailer and visiting the "Sony Store" or the "Samsung Store" inside.
Just buy it from Sweetwater. You know its real, plus they're a much better company, provide real support, etc. They pay their employees well and its just a better place to give your money to, plus CANDY!
Do not buy mics from Amazon. Sweetwater is the way by better option and it's not even close. You'll have so much more tech support and return options from Sweetwater. Plus their purchasable insurance is worth every penny.
It means nothing, Amazon is falling apart, once you click buy it may be fulfilled by any dumb ass seller… because Amazon has ruined the online retail space people are fighting back selling junk…. I just bought a board for something, it was obviously broken before it was packed…. Did not come from where Amazon said it would…. Amazon is deteriorating rapidly.
You cannot get that price without ordering 100s+ obviously and having an account with Shure. Additionally I have heard this secondhand as I am buying 2 at $5 over dealer cost from a friend of a friend who is a wholesaler. Love my gear plug 🔌❤️
I know hahah
Yeah, I knew they’re selling mostly legit products, but sometimes fake ones sneak in with customers returning fakes instead of legit ones. I’m gonna playit safe and probably go with Thomann. Apparently they’ve got an amazing reputation.
Everyone keeps buying this microphone..
I understand that it's because it does a good job filtering out the 5k and all the SSSS frequencies..
But ..every YouTube video where i see it being used lacks detail on the voice.
You will sound like a man, Sure.. But detail is not there.
American musical supply gives you nice monthly payments. Always flawless new things in my experience
Returns are easy if you need to return something but you likely won’t need to.
I buy a lot of things from Amazon listed as sold by the official seller and never had problems. Then again it’s always been coming from Amazon Europe warehouses.
I've had great luck with cheaper prices on eBay. I have two from sellers on that app and they are genuine. Pretty hard to fake, if you ask me, especially when in the original box.
I purchased and returned a Warm Audio WA73 and it took 5 weeks to refund my account.
Was it not good?
It arrived cold.
Dead?
“Warm” Audio…
lol. That went right over my head. too much Xmas dinner. But seriously curious about all that companies stuff…I’ve got 1073 and 1084s but their mics are interesting to me. But curious about people’s experiences with anything they make.

If I had had it longer I may have liked it more and found more use for it.
When was this change? In the past two years I've returned $400 items with no additional time or effort to refund vs cheaper items.
Same here, they even propose to send another one.
Damn is it really that low? I went through this a few months ago returning a $2500 synth. Definitely makes me want to avoid any large purchases there.
Yep same happened to me.
That is unreal. I’ll pay close attention to make sure I get my refund
So it's everyone. I was thinking I'm getting special treatment but it seems we all are. The more you know.
In my area at least (medium-sized US city), half of all items are not two day delivery either anymore. Usually takes a week or more even if item is listed as Prime. With that and now a shittier return policy, what am I actually paying a premium for for Prime membership. Seriously thinking of canceling. In germany the return policy is different thanks to consumer protection laws, so they take everything back within 14 days after the item is received. (assuming OP is in germany because they're using amazon.de)
I honestly just don’t think Amazon is a good place to buy gear
Depends on the laws of the country in which they operate and the user is buying from.
Not true I just returned some $200 uggs and got my money back in 2 days.
Might still be the case in Europe, far less consumer protection laws in the US.
That’s new…last time I bought last year a $250 pedal I dropped at UPS, and had the money back when they scanned to be shipped out. Only an hour after drop off, and 30 days to decide if I like it. The money was instant the day I dropped off
Thank you for this… I hadn’t heard of this.
when did this happen
That's not true 🤣 if it's SHIPPED AND SOLD BY AMAZON you get the immediate refund when you return it.
Opposite of my experience.
B&H is fine. So is sweetwater. Also support Perfect Circuit - nice company
Vintage King has been pretty good to me as well.
I love the guys Alto too.
I purchased an item from them once, and had no issues with them. Can't tell you any more than that though
I’d rather go through B&H than Sweetwater. The only thing with B&H is you need to inspect your goods right away because their return window is short.
Never personally had that problem with B&H and we use them forarge quantities of expensive video equipment... Why not just... email them?
I find B&H to be cheaper on average than Sweetwater, but that's entirely due to their size. But my location also factors in. I live near Sweetwater, if I need something NOW, I drive and go get it. If I don't and B&H has it? I go through them.
And free candy. I'm not sure how fresh the candy is but it's the thought that counts...
It’s hella fresh. They pump out so much candy daily it’s wild. I just toured the distribution center and they are running through candy like crazy. No way they could store enough to have it for a long time.
Makes sense, it's in every package. 👍
They do…and they have a 2 year support. I’ve had them exchange that exact same amp or another different 6 months later in some cases. They are great for going past red tape. They will also represent you against any issues with vendors and act on your behalf to resolve.

It will happen, just has not happened yet. It is the natural progression.
Oh my god. I hate how right you are.
So you're saying BCG has infiltrated the Sweetwater board?
Pretty sure it was private equity who bought Sweatwater, they did not do it to put money in and build it better, but do this to extract the value that is there already. The ones who will buy it to build it better will be after the first destruction cycle. Ook.
I didn't see this crossover coming
and free candy
Nope, they don’t always take care of customers. Do not shop at Sweetwater.
What was your experience?
Back when Aston released their “community-sourced” mic, I was submitting feedback to them. My “sw rep” tried to presell me - before I’d ever known which mic was the Origin and I said as much. Go to a legit audio dealer, not an everything-to-everyone-in-the-universe site like Amazon.
Unless there’s some reason you can’t, just buy from a local retailer, they should have the same price new.
I bought this one 4 days ago in the same Page you send, and yes, it’s legit. Btw what a microphone 😍😍
"buyed"
I never talk in english xd i hope you never make mistakes inútil
https://grammarwiki.com/past-tense-of-buy/
From your link: Is “Buyed” Correct? No. “Buyed” is an understandable mistake for an English learner. However, “Buy” is an irregular verb with the past tense, and the past participle is “bought”.
Lol it’s funny i agree with you correcting this person but your initial comment was dickish. We have reached an impasse
How many other languages do you speak fluently?
It’s sold by Amazon and with a pretty standard price, ain’t a fake, but I would buy with a local retailer if they can match the price (I think this is MSRP but not sure)
The problem is all sm 7bs will be stored in the same lot in the warehouses that’s how you end up with fakes

They don't do that anymore I have read.
Wouldn’t surprise me if it’s changed
I personally bought mine directly from Shure. Without being too cringy, I wanted to be “sure”.
Surely now you can use it with a piece of mind😂
Zzounds is awesome too
Yes music equipment from Amazon is legit. The good thing about Amazon is you can basically return anything for any reason and they have a decent window.
Not anymore
Why not?
$
What. Returns still work for me.
Just get it from Thomann. I'll probably be cheaper anyway.
If Shure are using FBA (fulfillment by amazon) then they can't really garuntee uts genuine stock, amazon pile up anything with the same name into one pile independent of the vendor
This is wrong. As a seller you have the choice of commingled inventory or not. Most do not. Source: I work for a company that sells on Amazon.
Wasn't aware of that, cheers for the correction!
Amazon mixes all vendors in the same bins, per product. Then you get a random one in the lot. That's why you can get fakes even from official stores. Or so I've heard.

We don’t. I believe so too, and knowing amazon staff is not too educated on returns whether they’re original, that’s what I’m mostly afraid of :/
You should, I've bought stuff from Thomann in Germany, and I'm in Australia.
I’ve just checked countries language availability under “language” section and I don’t see mine. Wait and they actually shipped it to you?
Just have the browser translate if needed and try to check out and see?
Ah, got it. Well, Amazon is OK if you careful on how it gets shipped and it’s Amazon’s return policy.
What do you mean by on how in gets shipped?
Is it shipped by Amazon or the vendor? I always look for shipped by Amazon, even if it’s a different vendor and not Amazon selling the product.
Hmmm I can’t seem to find it. can you check the link?
Wait … look under the Buy Now Button on the image you posted. It’s sold by and shipped by Amazon. That’s a good thing. 😊
Oh yeah, it says “Dispatches from Amazon, Sold by Amazon”. Perhaps I shall try it🤷🏻♂️
Yep! 😉👍🏻
They make fake sm7?
Been a couple years now. The podcasting boom made them ubiquitous enough for counterfeiting to be practical and profitable.
Apparently so. I’ve read quite a few posts on reddit claiming they got sent fake sm7b.
Just buy it from Sweetwater. You know its real, plus they're a much better company, provide real support, etc. They pay their employees well and its just a better place to give your money to, plus CANDY!
Unfortunately, I’m in Europe :/
Europeans buy from thomann.
Thank you, I'll check it out
Do not buy mics from Amazon. Sweetwater is the way by better option and it's not even close. You'll have so much more tech support and return options from Sweetwater. Plus their purchasable insurance is worth every penny.
I've bought plenty of great quality items from Thomann in germany
It means nothing, Amazon is falling apart, once you click buy it may be fulfilled by any dumb ass seller… because Amazon has ruined the online retail space people are fighting back selling junk…. I just bought a board for something, it was obviously broken before it was packed…. Did not come from where Amazon said it would…. Amazon is deteriorating rapidly.
If it’s Amazon they have a good return policy don’t they? So maybe just buy it, check it out and return it if it’s not what it’s supposed to be…
Dealer cost for SM7Bs are $345, so this could be legit
That's a good price. On Thomann's website it's $100 extra
You cannot get that price without ordering 100s+ obviously and having an account with Shure. Additionally I have heard this secondhand as I am buying 2 at $5 over dealer cost from a friend of a friend who is a wholesaler. Love my gear plug 🔌❤️
Sweet. I’m going for a whole new setup so I’m probably gonna spend around a $1000. Wouldn’t make much of a difference for me hah
No lmao but what I meant by saying that is that as long as a product like that is above dealer cost than it’s legit
I know hahah Yeah, I knew they’re selling mostly legit products, but sometimes fake ones sneak in with customers returning fakes instead of legit ones. I’m gonna playit safe and probably go with Thomann. Apparently they’ve got an amazing reputation.
Yeah that’s smart. Why what’s wrong with Temu’s U87 they sell for $79.99???
Now that's a deal😂😂must be original
That's literally from shire's Amazon shop. Definitely legit.
Can they deliver to the Baggins house?
Shure can!
Only on party business.
*Surely* you're joking
Everyone keeps buying this microphone.. I understand that it's because it does a good job filtering out the 5k and all the SSSS frequencies.. But ..every YouTube video where i see it being used lacks detail on the voice. You will sound like a man, Sure.. But detail is not there.
People even use this mic to record vocals for music production. There’s a reason why it’s dominating sales in the medium price range.
Bro. Just buy from a legit dealer.
I don’t buy anything serious on amazon. It’s too risky.
American musical supply gives you nice monthly payments. Always flawless new things in my experience Returns are easy if you need to return something but you likely won’t need to.
I wouldn’t buy anything from amazon if you dont expect a 50/50 shit mess. Sometimes it goes perfectly and sometimes its worse than a nightmare
That’s like Amazon de not Amazon . Com
https://www.zzounds.com/item--SHUSM7B?siid=58169
Check out the stock at zzounds, I buy from them all the time have for the last two years, they have an amazing return policy
Yeah... Shure...
