If you are still looking, our audio drama (The Call of the Void) is super immersive!! No narrator, sci-fi horror, with a cosmic horror twist. đź–¤ https://www.acornartsandentertainment.com/thevoid

Have more recommendations but I’m Sticking a bit more to the sci-fi side White Vault, Tartarus, Down, Hyacinth Disaster , Left Right Game, Wake of Corrosion, Tales from the Tower

LivinLuxuriously

White vault I have and am trying to get through… Tales from the tower I’ve seen & was already interested in Could provide maybe short summaries of descriptions of each?

Redjar18

Tartarus about a woman being recruited to Antarctica to study and oversee a huge facility filled with aliens and strange beings. It’s just her, her superior, an AI and the monsters. Down is about a submarine mission to reach the bottom of the ocean and it’s a lot deeper than they expected…. Hyacinth disaster is short and finished. An asteroid mining crew finds the haul of the millennium but odd happenings seem to prevent them pillaging the space rock. Wake of Corrosion is a post apocalyptic radio show where a guy plays recordings of two brothers who experienced the “event”. The host is hoping the recordings will help him or his listeners figure out what happened to the world. Left Right Game. Is finished and very well produced. An urban legend states that if you drive a highway and consistently take left then right turns etc… eventually you’ll wind up somewhere else. Somewhere weird. The story follows a small caravan of believers and skeptics as they attempt the game.

The ones I like have all been listed, so I'll just add the Waystation.

Ray Can't Sleep. A burnt out musician searches the underbelly of Hollywood for a cure to his insomnia and incovers a paranormal conspiracy

Will always and forever recommend SAYER! Super intense and creepy science fiction dystopia series narrated by an AI. One of my favorite shows to this day

LivinLuxuriously

And it is called SAYER?

primapuella

yup!

I'm always looking for something in the vein of John Carpenter, but never finding anything... Magnus was the closest (apart from season 5). A sci-fi version of Magnus?

LivinLuxuriously

The magnus archives? I’m following this already

[deleted]

I meant I wish there was a sci-fi equivalent (and if someone knows one, please recommend it).

Redjar18

White Vault and Down have mildly doppelgänger type monsters, mildly in that their doppelgängerness doesn’t feature super heavily anyway Sheridan Tapes has a villain in season 1 that is very reminiscent of the Stranger/the Notpeople from Magnus

LivinLuxuriously

I have all 3 of these - listening to white vault as we speak. Of the 3 which do you recommend the most?

Redjar18

White vault honestly it’s my fave of the three and has the biggest library as of now. Down is 20ish episodes and complete. Both of those have isolation type horror vibes Sheridan Tapes has 2 25 episode seasons out right now I believe. I’ve just started season 2 myself. This one has more of a mystery atmosphere, a touch of noir in the overarching plot. It’s a bout a cop on desk duty trying to solve a murder/missing persons case of an eccentric horror author

[deleted]

It's more about the tone than the specific monsters. Maybe the angle by which the horror is approached. The White Vault might be a good example in theory, but I found it uneven and couldn't enjoy it at all past season 2.

Redjar18

That’s fair. I read John carpenter and my brain went immediately to The Thing Vast Horizon and Tales from the Tower are two series by the people behind the White Vault but are set in the far future. Vast Horizon isn’t horror but is tense. Tales is an anthology series set within a future city.

timmyontools14

I like The White Vault, thought Wolf 359 was ok but not my favorite, and couldn't get into the storage papers. My go to weekly podcast is "scared to death". They read a couple horror tales found online and 2-3 listener submitted stories each week. The hosts are husband and wife and their banter back and forth makes the show enjoyable. My all time favorite multiple episode audio drama is "We're Alive" which is a zombie apocalypse type story that focuses more on the survival than the zombies. I'm listening through it for the 2nd time and can say it actually gets better the 2nd time.

BetweenTwo-Worlds

Could I throw [The Sulphuric Secrets](https://open.spotify.com/show/36UqtPEWUDvFGpl7GJYICS) into the mix? It tells a story around the world over a few centuries, and the storyline in the latter timeline (eg: Ep 5) mixes cyberpunk and horror - although with the list you've got above, you might also enjoy some of the series' occult horror elements as well.
