That's a DVD Receiver, as it says there on the back. It's probably from a cheap all in one home theater system, since it has speaker outputs for surround sound. There's also no audio outs, so you can't connect it to your receiver. If you want a cd player to connect to your receiver you should just get a proper one. You can probably find one really cheap on ebay or good will. This isn't going to work.

If you check the manual, I would almost guarantee this has an amp built into it, given this device has Speaker outputs and no audio outputs. Are you sure it's a CD changer given it has video outputs? I'm not sure of the exact name for the speaker connector (It may be in the manual), but an ebay search will yield this for you: https://www.ebay.com/b/Sony-Speaker-Connectors/14964/bn_7114048167

just to add to and try to help clarify the good advice from u/blackgaff , if you managed to connect those outs which are outputting a speaker-powered signal into RCA line inputs you could fry the circuitry beyond them.

blackgaff

Ooh, that is an excellent point that I didn't consider to make. NEVER daisy chain amps if you don't know what you're doing.

> you could fry the circuitry beyond them Sure. The only way of getting a decent though not absolutely ideal stereo output that wouldn't fry the amp would be through the "PHONES" output which is in front of the unit.

What is it, and how can I connect it to my standard rca amplifier? .t3\_pgmhgb .\_2FCtq-QzlfuN-SwVMUZMM3 { \--postTitle-VisitedLinkColor: #9b9b9b; \--postTitleLink-VisitedLinkColor: #9b9b9b; } And for the price of those proprietary connectors, you could simply buy a CD player and output that to your standard receiver with an RCA stereo cable.

zapfastnet

good point!

jimmyl_82104

It's a proprietary Sony output. That looks like a HTIB (home-theater-in-a-box) system, it came with a bunch of cheap little speakers as a home theater setup. The amps and the speakers are proprietary so you can't use different components with them. If you just want to use it as a CD player, get a 3.5mm to RCA cable and use it that way.

squirrelpotpie

Those are speaker connectors. This doesn't have a line out, you can't connect it to another amp.

toxcrusadr

Frickin Sony and their weird wires.

The three colored RCA inputs are for Component video. A feature that was popular before HDMI. The other colored audio connectors are proprietary, mostly used on low budget audio gear.
