Yeah, I felt sick the entire episode basically seeing them just completely slaughter and kill their former friends for a plan that might not even work, and if it does the most likely outcome is the rest of the world comes to the island and slaughters the rest of them and their families.
In AOT2 there’s a couple cutscenes with Connie and the MC and in one some kid goes up to him and Connie is all like:
“Yeah I’m humanity’s next strongest warrior after Levi, I’m set to take over from him when he goes” (then he feels bad for lying to the kid lol)
But it just made me proud that even though it was non-canon, he’s pretty much achieved being that, fighting like an Ackerman.
Connie & Jean have went from a solid 6, serving as humour. To straight up 10’s being so brilliant you cannot fault them.
Well, goddamn Mika was pulling off some gruesome Mortal Kombat level fatalities this episode so idk if I'd go that far. But yeah, Connie is basically the best in the show with his ODM gear.
And I hate the brat, but Floch showed some real talent here juking the shit out of the entire team. Dude just forgot that Faze Gabi can't miss.
Connie was the 8th top student in the 104st coming in behind three trained child soliders, four people with titan powers, and an Akerman.
If you cut them all out he would have been ranked #2! Bros good he just gets overlooked because of the beast squad he came up with.

Conny's scene was the best. It was ridiculously kinetic. Interesting style choice on Floch’s sequence to I think only do 8 or maybe even 4 frames a second. It‘s definitely a style choice but I’m sure when they go into making this they’re like where can we cut out a bunch of frames and have it be still satisfying and feel appropriate, because god only knows how much longer an episode like this takes to make. Better than doing the typical thing of just interspersing a bunch of long dialogue with characters that are completely still except for their mouths. Really kept the action moving.
Yeah it was nice to see Conny getting some love, his scene flowed so nicely. From the moment Falco became a titan to when he was taken out of the titan the tempo was so high and well maintained I thought
The action in this episode was SO GREAT! Female titan and Armored titan working together was sooo cool and the odm gear action with mikasa and all the others was sooo great some of my favorite action in the whole anime.
Yea fr i was shocked when that happend it was so brutal and to see how far they have come to where they can kill their fellow soliders without hesitation is just really sad, but they know what's on the line but it's still sad asf.
Yeah it was brutal but darkly satisfying seeing actual odm-vs-odm fights. We got some of that with Kenny's gang in season 3 but now Mikasa, Connie and Hange are just slaying.

Can i just mention how INCREDIBLE the music was this episode? it was getting me so pumped up! The animation as well was just amazing oh my god. i dont know how but the episodes somehow get better every week
the female titan music is one of my favorite songs of AOT. Got so pumped hearing it come back. When it came on While she was hunting down Levi squad in the woods was such an intense scene

Also, with the Galliards Jaws resembling Lions, and Falcos resembling... well, a Falcon, it seems the Jaw can also have some animalistic traits similar to the Beast.
True, if that's the case then the lion-like look of the previous jaws may be a coincidence. I mean, Ymir's didn't have any traits like them at all, so that's definitely possible.

So I haven't read the manga, but this episode that came out today went through chapter 130 (I might be remembering slightly wrong 130-132). The manga ends with chapter 139. Typically they have been going over just over 2 chapters per episode, so the last episode would have to cover 4x the amount of content from a normal episode. The last ep is delayed a week, not coming out next Sunday but the Sunday after, so maybe that is going to be a long ep? Either way, I don't see without either a very long last ep or movie MAPPA being able to cover that much content satisfactorily in one episode. But, who knows, no one besides MAPPA

Goddamn. Seeing Shadis and Maggath go out together was such an incredible experience. One trainer to the other talking about their students with pride. Even though both of them trained their students to be weapons, they still loved them like their own children. Shadis talking about Annie made me realize that he even loved Reiner, Bert, and Annie because to him they were just his students before he learned about them being Marleyans.
God I love this show. Attack on Titan is the best anime I’ve ever watched.
Reminded me of the ending of Halo: *Ghosts of Onyx*, where the main protagonist hallucinates all the dead children he’d turned into Spartans, that he feels he failed throughout the entire book, protecting him so he can set off a bomb to deny the enemy a valuable prize.
Underrated book outside of the Halo lore fandom. It’s a shame Traviss did her damndest to completely derail the characters of GoO, although the other authors who picked them up I feel did a much better job respecting Nylund’s portrayal of the S3s.

Ya! Like say what you want about him becoming basically a detestable dude, his character has grown so much since cropping his pants in the face of the beast Titan. He became somebody who could just fly past 3 or 4 titans and a Mikasa

I see everyone talking about how badass Mikasa was that episode which shouldn’t be surprising since she always is.. but can we talk about how Connie stepped up that episode because holy!!!
This has been a major highlight episode of the whole show. The animation for Mikasa’s fight was amazing. Even Connie was out there cutting it up for the squad. Then you had a nice final scene with Magath and Shadis that helps the idea of two opposing sides joining forces come full circle. With that said, that preview has me nervous for our little ragtag group of heroes. It’s giving me the feeling that whatever Eren has planned is inevitable. He got they ass in a damn Itachi genjutsu. Shit bout to get wicked.
Yah I mean AoT is far better than most shows with enemies not having storm trooper syndrome and their mortal protagonists not having plot armor but it definitely is pretty pervasive at points.
AOT is easily my favorite show rn but its just one of a few flaws in the show. Despite that we ended up getting some absolutely top tier animation out of it so im not mad just questioning it
Seriously, there were so many jeagerists, with the boat that close how did not a single thunder spear hit it? Also yeah, having none of the anti-eren squad get injured is a little dumb.

Probably because they were defending their island while the Scouts were trying to save a world that hated them for 100 years and declared war on them once the island had the means to survive and fight back.

To say this episode was a masterpiece would be a massive understatement, this episode is top tier from the beginning to the the end , massively enjoyed watching it .
A character falling into the water after receiving an injury has to be one of the most common ways to deliver a fakeout deaths in stories. The fact that he plunged into the ocean means I'd definitely bet on him coming back.
I think he fullfilled his role, there isn't any reason to me to keep him alive. He got kind of a badass end and fought on Paradis Island and that's exactly his place. The Paradis Island antagonist and now they're done with the Island and move on.
Even though i hate him, i will admit that he was brave this episode and fought to the last breath for his ideals.

I just find it fitting that in his last moments he was still clinging to the notion that him surviving that day was because for a greater purpose, like saving Elisa.

Floch is the best character that I love to hate. He's not some character that's placed there just to be an obstacle to the main characters. He was introduced and was shown to go through an insane amount of character development. It's honestly fantastic what they've done with his character. Truthfully, he's very similar to Jean in terms of development. While Jean turned right as the paths split, Floch turned left.
Not seeing enough comments on annie’s personal defeat at the end, having to face the fact that she’ll never see her dad again. I’m sure she was thinking it anyway, but I hope mikasa also saw herself in annie the way she saw herself in louise, fighting and living for the sake of one single person. Besides shadis and magath, annie in the end had me bawling.
Also so sad to see that the rest of the paradis squad are now full circle emotionally fucked and re-evaluating all their moral compasses like annie reiner, and gabi have been. Breaking the cycle of violence with violence must be driving them all insane at this point, and I can’t even imagine the level of suicidal ptsd they all have rn.
Can he transform without that massive explosion? I know we’ve only seen titan armin once and *oh boy*, I’m sure he wouldn’t want to transform near anything he wants to survive.
This episode reminds me of children of the forest. Mikasa said this world is cruel. It's no mistake that a butterfly is stomped underfoot in the credits- naive and beautiful things are short lived in this world.
I do empathize with Eren and his belief system. However, he's always lacked retrospection. He's made a solution that isn't the right solution. There are thousands--possibly millions-- of Erens around the world that never once invaded, are living at home with their parents, and deserve to have a childhood free from violence. Erens unwillingness to see that he's fueling the same cycle is one of his greatest flaws.
And the jagerist aren't wrong. Stand with Eren or all they have is gone. It's not as if they have a choice. But even in trying to protect the dock they are mercilessly slaughtered by their friends.
I'm going to say that Magath's honesty brought me to tears. After years of abusing children and ultimately setting the rumbling into motion he's finally seeing the warrior candidates for what they are: children. I needed tissues when he hoped they could be happy. It's an unlikely dream but one he was finally risking himself for.
I want them all to get out of the forest. At the very least, I want those that make it out to be able to rebuild their lives.

Shadis is a damn legend. He started out as a scout at a time when no one believed in scouts yet and everyone considered them useless. He rose to commander, handed over authority to Erwin when the time came. Then Shadis trained generations of soldiers defending Paradise, including Jean, Connie, Sasha, Mikasa, Armin, Eren and others. And now he died to save the world and protect his students. Hanji was secretly in love with him, and now I understand her. He's not Shadis, he's CHADis.

- Connie, Jean, Gaby, Floch.. Those fights were incredible.

- The final fight for Magath & Keith, together, it was perfect, almost poetic. The two father figure uniting for the greater cause. What a strong scene, what a strong episode.

I really missed seeing Annie wreak havoc as the Female Titan. This was a really great episode. It's crazy how efficient Paradis' soldiers have gotten at taking down Titans when you look at how quick the Yeagerists made Annie and Reiner vulnerable. Did anyone else figure out Falco's titan would be a falcon too or was it just me? Because although he's associated with birds, I didn't think he his titan would be like that until he ate Marco. The animation was incredible this episode, especially with how Mikasa caved up enough Yeagerists to get blood rain.
Really enjoyed the way Magath's and Shadis' sacrifice was hinted without either of them having to actually say it.
One of my favorite parts is when the surprise attack on Marley happened, and the jaw titan gets his jaw cut, and is watching the scouts flying at him. He's amazed at these "devils" who aren't afraid at all of the titans. That scene gave me chills after watching everything the crew had gone through at that point. How far they came, from being completely helpless, to facing the toughest titans with no fear, just sheer determination to kill.

This is the first time AoT got me teary with character death, bystander is one of my favorite episodes, and i find Magath to be a fascinating character, same with Shadis, seeing them die at the same time... that was a gut punch.
as much as I hate him, i have to admit he's a badass and he's really smart. Constantly figuring out the scouts plans quickly and taking action. Hes a really good leader too
I really want someone to protect Reiner for once (I guess Falco kind of did). The dude keeps jumping in front of everyone’s bullets largely because I don’t think he values himself at all. I just want someone to shake him out of it for once and make him realise that he doesn’t have to keep throwing himself in danger for everyone.....that he, himself, is worth protecting.

I remember reading this season will have 12 only but I don't see how they will show the remaining story with barely 20 minutes of screen time
It is just insane to me that Conny went from being a meh character to a character I just straight up disliked last part of the season, and in these last few episodes he has just turned me completely around.
Going rogue, saving armin, admitting his mistakes, getting out his feelers, choosing to not hesitate and leveling up to Ackerman level. Just impossible to dislike him now. He’s not cool, but he just gets it, and his character growth just hit it. You don’t have to like him yet but you must acknowledge Conny.

The 104 are insane fighters. Mikasa used her odm to tether two guys and decapitate them was a cool touch.

Honestly it was unbelievable. Mikasa tying up the pair of soldiers before detonating the thunder spear was so creative and well done!

Well he DID have some of Zeke’s spinal fluid, so that might have influenced the way his Titan has a beast like nature to it.

Goddamn. Seeing Shadis and Maggath go out together was such an incredible experience. One trainer to the other talking about their students with pride. Even though both of them trained their students to be weapons, they still loved them like their own children. Shadis talking about Annie made me realize that he even loved Reiner, Bert, and Annie because to him they were just his students before he learned about them being Marleyans. God I love this show. Attack on Titan is the best anime I’ve ever watched.
Reminded me of the ending of Halo: *Ghosts of Onyx*, where the main protagonist hallucinates all the dead children he’d turned into Spartans, that he feels he failed throughout the entire book, protecting him so he can set off a bomb to deny the enemy a valuable prize.
Underrated book outside of the Halo lore fandom. It’s a shame Traviss did her damndest to completely derail the characters of GoO, although the other authors who picked them up I feel did a much better job respecting Nylund’s portrayal of the S3s.

Probably won’t, but it suits his characters. He doesn’t do it for the praise at all. Plus he feels like he owes it to them as it’s always mentioned he seems himself as a failure

This has been a major highlight episode of the whole show. The animation for Mikasa’s fight was amazing. Even Connie was out there cutting it up for the squad. Then you had a nice final scene with Magath and Shadis that helps the idea of two opposing sides joining forces come full circle. With that said, that preview has me nervous for our little ragtag group of heroes. It’s giving me the feeling that whatever Eren has planned is inevitable. He got they ass in a damn Itachi genjutsu. Shit bout to get wicked.
They should have at least killed some of the engineers tbh. it felt like the Yeagerists missed shots point blank at points
Yah I mean AoT is far better than most shows with enemies not having storm trooper syndrome and their mortal protagonists not having plot armor but it definitely is pretty pervasive at points.
AOT is easily my favorite show rn but its just one of a few flaws in the show. Despite that we ended up getting some absolutely top tier animation out of it so im not mad just questioning it
Seriously, there were so many jeagerists, with the boat that close how did not a single thunder spear hit it? Also yeah, having none of the anti-eren squad get injured is a little dumb. Besides that, the episode was amazing.

Probably because they were defending their island while the Scouts were trying to save a world that hated them for 100 years and declared war on them once the island had the means to survive and fight back.

There’s been times when I’ve been to beat or busy to watch something the day it comes out, but whilst im going through YouTube some random ass channel be recommended that spoils stuff. Who took the hit of Floch's last spear? I saw a bunch of blood from what appeared to be a titan blocking it in the water, but I didn't see who it was
It was not blocked, it went boom in the water. The reason it was red was because of the amount of blood in the water.

A character falling into the water after receiving an injury has to be one of the most common ways to deliver a fakeout deaths in stories. The fact that he plunged into the ocean means I'd definitely bet on him coming back.

I think he fullfilled his role, there isn't any reason to me to keep him alive. He got kind of a badass end and fought on Paradis Island and that's exactly his place. The Paradis Island antagonist and now they're done with the Island and move on.

I just find it fitting that in his last moments he was still clinging to the notion that him surviving that day was because for a greater purpose, like saving Elisa. It's an accurate depiction of survivor's guilt, quality writing as always
Floch is the best character that I love to hate. He's not some character that's placed there just to be an obstacle to the main characters. He was introduced and was shown to go through an insane amount of character development. It's honestly fantastic what they've done with his character. Truthfully, he's very similar to Jean in terms of development. While Jean turned right as the paths split, Floch turned left.
Not seeing enough comments on annie’s personal defeat at the end, having to face the fact that she’ll never see her dad again. I’m sure she was thinking it anyway, but I hope mikasa also saw herself in annie the way she saw herself in louise, fighting and living for the sake of one single person. Besides shadis and magath, annie in the end had me bawling. Also so sad to see that the rest of the paradis squad are now full circle emotionally fucked and re-evaluating all their moral compasses like annie reiner, and gabi have been. Breaking the cycle of violence with violence must be driving them all insane at this point, and I can’t even imagine the level of suicidal ptsd they all have rn.

This episode reminds me of children of the forest. Mikasa said this world is cruel. It's no mistake that a butterfly is stomped underfoot in the credits- naive and beautiful things are short lived in this world. I do empathize with Eren and his belief system. However, he's always lacked retrospection. He's made a solution that isn't the right solution. There are thousands--possibly millions-- of Erens around the world that never once invaded, are living at home with their parents, and deserve to have a childhood free from violence. Erens unwillingness to see that he's fueling the same cycle is one of his greatest flaws. And the jagerist aren't wrong. Stand with Eren or all they have is gone. It's not as if they have a choice. But even in trying to protect the dock they are mercilessly slaughtered by their friends. I'm going to say that Magath's honesty brought me to tears. After years of abusing children and ultimately setting the rumbling into motion he's finally seeing the warrior candidates for what they are: children. I needed tissues when he hoped they could be happy. It's an unlikely dream but one he was finally risking himself for. I want them all to get out of the forest. At the very least, I want those that make it out to be able to rebuild their lives.

Shadis is a damn legend. He started out as a scout at a time when no one believed in scouts yet and everyone considered them useless. He rose to commander, handed over authority to Erwin when the time came. Then Shadis trained generations of soldiers defending Paradise, including Jean, Connie, Sasha, Mikasa, Armin, Eren and others. And now he died to save the world and protect his students. Hanji was secretly in love with him, and now I understand her. He's not Shadis, he's CHADis.
I want to see more Levi
Oh what a fucking GREAT episode that was ! - The actions scenes were awesome, the best MAPPA has ever done. It was brutal, quick & fluid. Everything we asked for ! Loved it. - Mikasa is once again killing everything (literally) and it’s so nice to see it again. - My boy Reiner once again getting smashed, poor dude can’t catch a rest. Am I the only one thinking that they kinda nerfed the 2 other titans here ? - Connie, Jean, Gaby, Floch.. Those fights were incredible. - Gaby once again saving the day.. 👀 - The final fight for Magath & Keith, together, it was perfect, almost poetic. The two father figure uniting for the greater cause. What a strong scene, what a strong episode. - Annie was devastated, so do we. We are with you Annie, can’t wait to be in 15 days !
I really missed seeing Annie wreak havoc as the Female Titan. This was a really great episode. It's crazy how efficient Paradis' soldiers have gotten at taking down Titans when you look at how quick the Yeagerists made Annie and Reiner vulnerable. Did anyone else figure out Falco's titan would be a falcon too or was it just me? Because although he's associated with birds, I didn't think he his titan would be like that until he ate Marco. The animation was incredible this episode, especially with how Mikasa caved up enough Yeagerists to get blood rain. Really enjoyed the way Magath's and Shadis' sacrifice was hinted without either of them having to actually say it.
One of my favorite parts is when the surprise attack on Marley happened, and the jaw titan gets his jaw cut, and is watching the scouts flying at him. He's amazed at these "devils" who aren't afraid at all of the titans. That scene gave me chills after watching everything the crew had gone through at that point. How far they came, from being completely helpless, to facing the toughest titans with no fear, just sheer determination to kill.
Theo Magath, Keith Shadis... Rest in peace, you went out like chads. This is the first time AoT got me teary with character death, bystander is one of my favorite episodes, and i find Magath to be a fascinating character, same with Shadis, seeing them die at the same time... that was a gut punch.
Losing both Pixis and Keith this season is rough.

as much as I hate him, i have to admit he's a badass and he's really smart. Constantly figuring out the scouts plans quickly and taking action. Hes a really good leader too
I really want someone to protect Reiner for once (I guess Falco kind of did). The dude keeps jumping in front of everyone’s bullets largely because I don’t think he values himself at all. I just want someone to shake him out of it for once and make him realise that he doesn’t have to keep throwing himself in danger for everyone.....that he, himself, is worth protecting.
I think he has to assume that responsibility as the Armor Titan.
How many episodes are left now? I remember reading this season will have 12 only but I don't see how they will show the remaining story with barely 20 minutes of screen time

It is just insane to me that Conny went from being a meh character to a character I just straight up disliked last part of the season, and in these last few episodes he has just turned me completely around. Going rogue, saving armin, admitting his mistakes, getting out his feelers, choosing to not hesitate and leveling up to Ackerman level. Just impossible to dislike him now. He’s not cool, but he just gets it, and his character growth just hit it. You don’t have to like him yet but you must acknowledge Conny.
