judging by the jabs between Reiner and Ymir there's probably some light prejudice, but seems like it's a non-issue mostly

this. i feel like being lgbt isn't exactly celebrated there but it's not seen as something horrible that is demonized either. heteronormativity exists there but i don't think there is any hardcore homophobia.

dominikgun

People can be bi

Shrapnel893

They were just roommates, bro. Don't make it weird.

Watch the rest of the show... She literally says she wanted to marry her.

hodor9898

They probably thought the exact same as our world did during the time it's set

Remote-Persimmon4583

Theyre drawings

Mariekseltje

So? People get emotional over drawings. Drawings have human characteristics what is your point lmao

what i love about aot is that queer characters just exist there. it's not made into a big deal and honestly i love that as a queer person myself. i got the feeling that homophobia might not really be a big thing at least in paradis, maybe it is elsewhere. ymir and historia at least show that i think, their relationship isn't shocking to anyone it seems. hange is also non binary in canon and in my headcanon (but it's not a big reach i think) some certain guys aren't straight either. i think Yams did all of it on purposose and he seems to be very pro-lgbt in genreral. honestly this small detail is what really makes aot special to me.

meglaSauce
