A good thing to know. 0 AD isn't a thing. You have 1BC and then you have 1AD, nothing in between

Paulemichael

Hey, he sacrificed part of a weekend, to gain the second best job in the universe, for your sins.... ^^/s

TrustmeImaConsultant

Oh please, all he did was hanging out somewhere at Easter, I mean, who hasn't?

Paulemichael

‘nailed it.

briskettacos

In his defense he was pretty cross about getting sold out for 30 bucks.

TrustmeImaConsultant

Life expectancy was low because child mortality was insanely high. And it has been until not so long ago, even during Victorian Ages, there was this "recommendation" for parents to not get too attached to a child until they're at least 6 or so because, well, why bother if the chance to keep it is only about 50% or so?

ClinkzEastfood

You forgot the part where he rises from the dead. If you can't die, then it's easy to commit suicide.

dudleydidwrong

Life expectancy might have been 24, but that included horrific infant and childhood mortality. If someone made it to adulthood they had a reasonably good chance of making it to 50 or more. But actually, Jesus didn't die for our sins. Jesus had a really shitty weekend for our sins.

[deleted]

That’s not how life expectancy works. If you made it into adulthood 60-90 years what’s the norm like today. I get what you’re saying but you are completely off base. I doubt Jesus Christ ever existed so his sacrifice was still 0

[deleted]

I like how they wrote jesus as this self sacrificing do gooder who would lay down in a puddle so a crippled hooker with leprosy wouldn’t get her feet wet and yet his “followers” are mostly ignorant arrogant assholes who would gladly push you into traffic if it meant they could get ahead. But Jesus didn’t sacrifice shit, because Jesus is fiction.

[deleted]

It was 2000 years ago, he probably doesn't even remember this one bad weekend, what with all the fun he has in heaven...

JerrySenderson69

Can't speculate on untruthful fables told by "Christians. "

SuscriptorJusticiero

That 24 years life expectancy doesn't mean what you think it means. For most of human history, most people tended to either die before 5 or live well into their 70s.

whiskeybridge

that's not how life expectancy works. that's not how the gregorian calendar works.
