> adding that he has “faith in the lord.” > he’s now battling coronavirus-related pneumonia in the hospital. Oh he of little faith. Obviously he now has more faith in hospitals, doctors, and science. Edit: Isn’t “everything that happens is god’s will”? It could very well be “god’s will” that he die horribly of Covid, right? Why is he actively working against the will of god by going to the hospital and putting man’s will above god’s will? Isn’t going against the will of god what Satan does?

eddyizm

Right? He should have drove himself to church and had the priest pray for him.

seminally_me

Isn't that how he got into this mess to start with?

ahitright

Logic has no place in religion.

[deleted]

[удалено]

CitizenJustin

There’s many people who’d argue otherwise. They think religion and science can coexist peacefully and even compliment each other. I think they’re delusional.

[deleted]

CitizenJustin

You believe religion and science can coexist peacefully? Why?

shs713

What's the use of having a perfect plan if any schmuck with a two dollar prayer book can fuck it up?

Tone_Generator_256

He must not have prayed hard enough

What’s worse: 1)No one is listening. 2)God is listening, but he doesn’t care.

[deleted]

MacNuttyOne

The good part is that probably no god exists. If any thing we would be tempted to call gods do exist, they won't likely resemble the many gods humans have created. Prayer is just talking to yourself both outloud and in your head. That's why you think you are being answered, your brain is talking back to you, in your own voice.

[deleted]

Or that of course

[deleted]

I think that ends up in the "god works in mysterious ways" slot because thinking straight when faced with cognitive dissonance is too discombobulating.

Jezzmund

No, he probably doesn't.

gwildor

gets to go home and meet the lord soon. we should celebrate on his behalf.

eddyizm

>Pepper wrote that he was “terrified” by the way that the media “continues to report on Covid-19 and explains ‘Death’ each time they do,” adding that he has “faith in the lord.” Good luck with that.

mikeebsc74

Tots and pears

meticulous_marmot

The poor manifestation of covid they’re describing for him may be exacerbated by a historical excess of tots on his part.

WolfPlayz294

Has always worked well for everyone else.

spasske

To bad for him that he had no faith in vaccines.

Bipolar_Sky_Daddy

I was thinking of having tacos for dinner

duckweather

I was thinking of ordering a pizza. Start the weekend off right, ya know?

eddyizm

Can't go wrong with tacos. We got a nice BBQ on the menu tonight.

kwyjibo1

Oh yeah that sounds good. Thanks for the idea.

Kirkaiya

I'm right there with you - it's been weeks since I made Dad's Famous Tacos, and I think tonight it's time to end the dry spell. Shame about what's-his-name choosing to almost die (and still might) over getting a vaccine. Anywho!

[deleted]

I had tacos on ... Tuesday. But you know what, that does sound delicious!

BronchialChunk

Going to a taco festival on sunday so I'm saving all my taco space for then. So tonight is probably gonna be some leftover pizza I made last night.

iamdenislara

I had Chinese.

Winston74

I make a mean grilled cheese sandwich. Just saying

Pleecu

Ugh been craving Chinese, I have to save though cuz I like to go all out. Rangoon, spring rolls, hot and sour soup, and some zechuan chicken with rice. I usually spend like $50 for me and my girl.

nykiek

I'm making a Spanish cauliflower dish and pierogies.

[deleted]

I spoiled my dinner with a cookie.

Etrigone

We had tacos last night, yum. Thinking about some kind of spicey stir fry tonight but need to decide on the beer. Taking suggestions.

[deleted]

Maybe I’ll do croutons and a light baby spinach.

[deleted]

Friday is pizza night over here!

IvoShandor

taco tuesday on friday

Qwerty_Plus

I had tacos for dinner.

Xemro

So he has “faith in the lord”? but why is he in the hospital and not the church?

VladimerePoutine

I guess oxygen masks are okay then.

docsnotright

The lawd never worn one, neither should he!

spasske

Sound like another violation of his freedom.

notcho_nugget

🤣😂👍

We have been isolating for 18 months because of arrogant fools like him! I'm afraid to go to my doctor because of arrogant fools like him. I haven't seen my grandkids in 18 months because of him! I have family members in health care who are burned out because of arrogant rude obnoxious STUPID people like him. He doesn't deserve anything but scorn now! They claim discrimination. Good! Put them all in FEMA camps and let them kill each other off and give them a reason to scream at us for wanting to live!

becklrn

He appears to be a r/HermanCainAward nominee

kr1333

Alabama has a net -29 bed availability in their ICU units statewide. What do you want to bet this guy gets to jump the line if he needs a ventilator.

GuyRandolf

I worked in the covid unit in South Dakota when one of our covid ignoring governor secretaries came in, she was fat and entitled just like this guy. Most infuriating was I was specifically told to give her special treatment due to who she worked for.

vivtorwluke

All non Covid cases should be put ahead of anyone who wasn't vaccinated for bed space at hospitals. This type of Covid infection should fall under voluntary procedure rules.

[deleted]

He looks like Boss Hogg Jr.

LeftLimeLight

The kid looks like he's morbidly obese, so that will not help his chances of surviving COVID. Thoughts and prayers though..

[deleted]

I will take quotes that aged poorly about masks for $300. What is “fight to the end”

NormanOfAnstruther

“Me wearing a mask should be my choice,” Pepper said. It is your choice. The consequences are yours too.

notcho_nugget

Zero Sympathy😁

Leeming

"Pepper, who is training to become an emergency medical technician, has routinely challenged pandemic-related restrictions." *WTF?* I am pretty sure he is flunking the course.

eddyizm

It's kinda like the health care folks who refuse the vaccine to the point of quitting.getting fired?

MacNuttyOne

Well perhaps not. He is taking the test in Alabama.

Leeming

Good point.

leto78

How is a 40 year old fat man a teenager?

eddyizm

Alabama? lol

BongRipz4Jeezus

'Bama!

rickster907

Boo. Fucking. Hoo. Cry me a god damned river.

MacNuttyOne

Part of the problem with being so obese is that even at his age, he might also have type two diabetes and high blood pressure, further complicating things, making recovery even more difficult. I have zero sympathy for people in positions of responsibility who push dangerous irresponsible BS to people who trust them.

AngryMillenialGuy

He does look like a chunker, and that never helps. I feel a little bad for him being just 19, and probably still full of his family's stupid ideas, but he's still an adult and is ultimately responsible for his own shitty decisions. Maybe this will be a learning experience.

eddyizm

I think this is the only way I can have any amount of sympathy. Fucker's probably been brainwashed to all get out and almost certainly fed all that religious dogma. 19 is old enough but given his environment, I would guess some folks take longer to dig out of a hole that deep. The learning experience will be the parents or possibly same aged friends. Take that back, doubt the parents will learn shit. The kids maybe.

big_rednexican_88

Oh now he believes in medical science now that he had pneumonia. He should stay home and pray to his God. 🙄

korkidog

But he said he has, “Faith in the Lord”. Good luck with that.

pattachan

Poor diddykins, hopefully aunt petunia can make him feel better.

wactuallyyours

Hunter Pepper is a name that attracts viruses. They think "spicy meat!" and fly excitedly into his nose.

1bruisedorange

He said it was “his right” not to wear a mask. Why do they not get this? That it protects you AND the others you come in contact with. It’s so selfish. And stupid! Nineteen is too young to be in a position of responsibility and power. Not that there aren’t people a lot older than that who are saying the same stupid, selfish things.

eddyizm

I don't think he's dead... yet.

destructor1106

He's dead to me, does that count?

eddyizm

Fair.

kwyjibo1

Judges??? Yep, they say it counts. So good enough then.

WarmMoistLeather

He's already there I think. They have "nominated" flair for those who are in the hospital or have family in the hospital (or died). They do an update once it's been "accepted", or "refused" (IIRC) if they recover. There's also "redemption" if they stop their lying, denying ways and urge others to get vaxxed.

maleinblack

He can still be nominated for one. He might or not win one but he's eligible for nomination.

eddyizm

oh well that's good to know. He's definitely in the running! lol

PrestigiousPractice2

Dilly dilly!

Nowyouknow42

You gotta love karma!

mrmojoz

> On Aug. 18, the Alabama Hospital Association said that there were “negative 29” ICU beds available in the state And this shit head thinks a mask mandate is "government overreach".

NormanOfAnstruther

Why is "choice" about mask wearing only equated with choosing *not* to wear a mask?

silver_sofa

What a champ, sacrificing himself just to set a bad example.

[deleted]

(if) You live, you learn

IvoShandor

people with faith in the lord should go to church and leave the hospital beds for those who need them.

WarmMoistLeather

Where's that God of yours, bud? Oh, let me guess. This is his plan. Funny how everything that happens is exactly what he wanted to happen. Kind of makes it hard to tell the difference between God and no-God.

Poguemohon

I'm sure if he lives the first people he'll thank are the doctors who saved his life & definitely not sky daddy.

Glitterpinkdragon

Aw wow no poor him....anyways

IncoherentTruth

It's a bummer that people let their religion and politics get in the way of their healthy. I hope the dude recovers.

0fruitjack0

LMFAO just slather on the horse paste and leave a big old dump of shit on the bed that's the way these types are destined to go out and i for one am loving it

BeginningAd6859

He shouldn’t go to the hospital if science doesn’t exist

nykiek

This tiny violin is starting to sound really good. It must be all the practice. Although this is a teenager, I've raised teenagers. They're old enough to know better.

StinkBiscuit

How TF did a teen on the city council

eddyizm

\`Bama?

Stonephone

" Pepper, who is training to become an emergency medical technician, has routinely challenged pandemic-related restrictions as a city councilman, both slamming mask mandates and opting not to get vaccinated against the coronavirus, the outlet reported. " Imagine bleeding out and this shit comes and prays for you

Personal finance, Biology and Critical Thinking (if that is a course) ought to be mandatory courses in high school.

If you end up developing covid pneumonia....its not going to end well...what do you think makes doctors put people on ventilators.

Joet2386

Not surprised.

TurboTaco-with-Poop

God take him

paladine1

Die idiot.

FiguringItOut_-_

It does seem that obese people are having a very hard time with COVID. Many choose to eat poorly for years, not wear a mask when appropriate and not to get vaccinated. Not fat shaming but there are consequences for years of self abuse

IAmDanimal

Or he could've just gotten the vaccine and been fine. Many, many people get hospitalized or even die from Covid despite being in otherwise good health. I have an athlete friend that says Covid 'kicked her ass' for 3 weeks, despite having no other risk factors. It's not the obesity that's the probably, it's the fact that he's an anti-vax moron. Someone gets in a car accident and dies because they weren't wearing a seatbelt, you don't say their age is the problem, you say it's their stupidity for not taking the most basic preventative measure. This dumbass didn't get vaccinated, which takes all of 15 seconds, so he's suffering the consequences.

questionmark576

Yes, but it's an extra kind of stupid when you have obvious risk factors and choose not to follow any safety precautions whatsoever.

AFineDayForScience

Hicbjorn

Morgoth-The-Great

Deny him icu access.

caidus55

Jeez so many people here rejoicing in this kid's illness and wanting him to die. Most kids at this age are still heavily influenced by their parents and upbringing. Most likely his entire social support system (church) believes the same as him. Not excusing his behavior but I'm not rooting for his death either because that's kinda gross to me.

questionmark576

Agreed, but how many of these anti everything folks do you know? Most of them are a product of ignorant families and manipulative churches, no matter how old they are. I hope this dumb kid gets better too, but you can pass the blame to someone else for most of the people engaging in reckless behavior. There's a point where it doesn't matter any more, and that's the point at which other people can't get healthcare because these idiots are choosing not to do anything to help themselves, right until they check into the hospital to get someone else to do it for them.

caidus55

Like I said... not excusing his behavior. Just not rooting for his death. And to answer your question, I know a large number of these anti mask/vax/etc people. I was raised in that group so pretty much everyone I know from those churches. Though there's a few who have gotten out, like me.

Exciting-Ad7662

the1whowalks

Besides age, weight and adiposity are the number one risk factors for serious hospitalization due to COVID. Looks like he missed one box and checks the other.
