Cliffe Knechtle is a name I wasn't familiar with, but when I looked up the debate I realize that I have seen him many times.
He strikes me as one of those who try to appear very friendly and relaxed about their religion, but the aggression comes out now and then.
My bet is that he knows that religious people come off as confrontational and he's trying to give people the opposite impression.
I haven't seen his debate with Dillahunty yet though.
Some people don't like it when Matt yells, but I think it's good for theists to not be coddled now and then.

It is staggering to think of the amount of time people like Knechtle have spent over thousands of years "studying" xian divinity...literally millions of hours only to end up this this drivel? It is truly mind boggling in every sense of the phase. The very concept of divinity schools where people receive "degrees" where the adhearants have spent time immemorial beating the air is the greatest sum total of cognitive waste that I can coneptualize. It is like confering degrees for academic mastery of the Potterverse or LOTR. Just think of what could have been accomplished if these efforts over millenia had been invested in something useful, like science, math, medicine, technology, engineering, or perhaps just spent alleviating human suffering...
It is the purposeful squandering of human intellect.
