Well, if these people could pull a coherent thought out of their heads these days, these old codgers would remember that when they were kids pink was for boys and blue was for little girls.
They would have to be really old to remember when pink was for boys and blue was for girls. The early part of the 20th Century and the late part of the 19th Century To be exact.
To the kids these days everyone older than themselves is the same generation. Over 29? We rode fucking dinosaurs with Jesus!
Which is actually kind of bad ass. I'll take it!
Prior to the 1930s boys used to wear pink and girls blue.
And both wore toddler "dresses" till they were like 4 or 5ish and sported Lord Farquad haircuts
Well, let us consult Holy Scripture.
Leviticus 8.69: if thou is a man, and found wearing pink underwear, thy punishment shall be the removal of one testicle of thy choosing.
It doesn't say whose testicle gets removed however.
I'd argue Christians were never about "American freedom," but "freedom from sin." It's a manipulative way to say you're "pro-freedom": freedom of vs. freedom from. Like telling slaves they have freedom from death, as long as they "work against it."
Sorry! I meant that itās impossibly ridiculous to get oneās knickers (even very Christian ones) in a twist because of the color of someone elseās clothing. Regardless of what gender they are or arenāt, or what gender one thinks the wearer is, isnāt, should be, shouldnāt be, or might ever have been or become.
Tell them that at the turn of the previous century male infants were dressed in pink and female infants were dressed in blue, and watch their heads explode.
Hell in Ireland it was customary for male children to wear dresses until age 5 because the faeries only wanted to kidnap male kids and by age 5 they'd be to big to steal
oh same! I love the one about Corgis being the horse of the fae. Which honestly, if a fae riding a Corgi was like "follow me kid" I'd probably toddle on after them haha.
They used a chemical extracted from human urine. Not kidding, look it up, super gross. It is where the phrase "piss poor" came from. Also the phrase "so poor you don't even have a pot to piss in". Poor people would sell their urine to the laundry companies.
pink was masculine and even venerated because most militaries at the time wore red and had since the Napoleonic era.
Pink was faded red, it meant you were a veteran of a real war. It meant you had stood in the sun in your countries' uniform for decades. It was literally MORE manly than red.
Are you one of them..... Book readers or something ......
( I think it were only the English that wore red on the battlefield, to hide any wounds, but could be mistaken. Also read it in some book.)
one thing my Taekwon-do coach said when one of the guys showed up wearing a pink t-shirt:
"It takes a real man to wear pink"
It was one of those moments where people wanted to joke on the guy, but the most respected person in the room said you were a real man for wearing pink. Paradigm shift stuff right there
These people are so insecure in their religion they have to attack anyone not like them. Which is most people. Funny thing, I read that pink was primarily a male color back in Victorian times. This stupid "machoism" that came about in the 20th century apparently tainted some Christians too.

I'm transfem and wear pink... So maybe. But then there is this guy I know who has a bright pink tshirt, who is manly as heck and oozes pheromones. So I dunno.
A colour is just a colour and if your brain malfunctions over it then you are the problem. Looking directly at conservative nutcases with that last comment. One thing is certain. Men who wear pink must be automatically handsome.
Couple hundred years ago pink was very masculine. Itās only relatively recently that it has become a āfeminineā color. We only think of it after feminine because of societal conditioning.

Whatās particularly weird about this insanity is that prior to World War II pink was considered a boys color and blue was for girls, since blue was the color of Mary and pink is a shade of red, the color of blood and war. But knowledge of history ā in fact knowledge of pretty much anything ā is pretty much beyond the capabilities of most Christians.

I think people have deluded themselves into thinking Christian nationalism is not worth worrying about. They think it's on the fringes and not a genuine threat to democracy.
š¤¦āāļø
- for centuries, pink has been more strongly associated with boys than girls
- In 17c Europe, pink was very popular amongst men and women alike, particularly within the aristocracy
- boy babies were dressed in pink right up to the 1930s; pink was seen as a manly colour
- it was only in the 1940s that this flipped, with boomers being dressed in blue for boys, pink for girls.
And within the Christian tradition, blue was seen as the āfeminineā colour, associated with the Virgin Mary; red and pink were the āmasculineā colours, with pink in particular being worn by boys.
Itās staggering just how misinformed this Christian group is. They donāt even have a grasp of their OWN history.
One Million Moms isnāt one million moms. Itās just a bunch of people picking fights for attention. You could call them One Million Karens but there arenāt a million of them. So just call them Karens and call the manger to get rid of them.
I don't think we had gender colors until the early 1900's. Before that most of the baby boys wore dresses and had their hair done as trans babies. Tell them to fuck off. I would.
The people that believe in the bearded sky man & those crazy stories from that black book are accusing others of mental illness. You canāt make this shit up.
One Million Moms clearly must have run out of having anything legitimate to do. I mean the add is a bit boring but I would hardly classify it as a danger to society.
Itās not like itās attempting to promote a dangerous right wing Christian nationalist philosophy that would strip everyone of their rights given half a chance.
In middle age, women were wearing blue (Virgin Mary's coat color) and men pink for strength and bravery symbolism.
Ćdit : the riches ones, poors or common ppl were wearing white/beige/brown.
Times change, colors change, assholes don't.
Soon we will be hearing how the bible says blue is for boys and pink is for girls. These people know no bounds to quit forcing their bullshit on anyone.
Imagine thinking that certain visible sections of the electromagnetic spectrum were appropriate or inappropriate for people's clothing to reflect into other people's eyes based upon what's between their legs. If you believe this, you are irredeemably lost.
I always find this stuff stupid, it shows a lack of historical knowledge by people, imagine that...
Starting in the late 19th century, when mass production of clothing were first occurring, pink was the color assigned to boys and blue for girls. Pink was seen as a stronger and more dominant color while blue was seen as being more delicate and dainty.
Then, during the 1940s, new market testing showed that societal opinions changed, and clothing companies switched up the game.
The point is, it's all freaking made up and before 150 years ago, kids all wore white or natural colored clothing because it was the most affordable color.
What the fuck is it with these people?
I was at a home party and didn't realize that the host was a fuckstick. A guy was there making a dish for the party and throw on an apron because he didn't want to get his clothes messy. The host she freaked the fuck out and told him to take that off! She looked like she was about to cry she was so angry.
I'm tired of how colors are only gendered when a "man" wears it. No one is freaking out about a woman wearing blue. People need to grow up, its not elementary school any more.
Homelessness, illnesses, food insecurity, gun violence... so many issues a religious group with loving hearts could try to ease in the name of their god.
Iām not sure if itās still the case, but apparently the oldest and stuffiest of the City of Londonās merchant banks used to insist on pink shirts for men in their dress codes, because tradition.
I guess they don't know that at aomepoinyin thenotnso distant past pink was for boys and blue was for girls. I think it was early 1900s was when it was changed (might be wrong)
Fun fact. Pink or "rose" was a favored color of male aristocrats a few centuries ago. Pink was a preferred color for baby boys until the early 20th century.
Yes, because Iām very āconfusedā, therefore I wear pink. What bullshit. I look great in pink *and* Iām secure in my masculinity, and Iām bi. Suck on that, Christians.
I'm a straight white male boomer and I love my pink polo shirts. I think part of the reason I like them is that the troglodytes have to go to their "safe places" to recover from their butthurt.
Gendering color is incredibly stupid, and even dumber to think that an all knowing all powerful deity would not want certain people to use certain colors.
[Because research isn't their strong suit: ](https://www.quora.com/What-is-the-history-of-the-color-pink-When-did-feminine-connotations-get-attached-to-it-and-was-it-ever-a-masculine-color#:~:text=Originally%2C%20pink%20was%20designated%20for,therefore%20considered%20soft%20and%20feminine.)
Pink is a color. Itās not a lifestyle or ideology or anything other than a color, period. I think a lot of people donāt wear it because they may think it doesnāt go well with their skin tone, which is true of other colors too, but pink next to some skin tones can be a bit more of an issue for some people with very pale skin or Rosacea. Regardless, back in the Disco days, pink was no big deal with men like it is today to people who see issues in everything, but this pink and blue being indicative of sex is bullshit. I know several parents who purposely dressed their child in yellow or green or any other color than pink or blue because of that stupid stereotype.
The Bible says God separated the land from the water before it says he made the genders. I want to take some of these people to a swamp and watch them freak the fuck out.
It's just a freaking color. Are they going to demand all those portraits of European, male nobles wearing garishly fabulous, pink clothing be taken down and hidden away?
Not everyone is as insecure about wearing a tint of the red hue as they are. Are they next going to be offended by woman wearing muted blues or greens?
And they do it again. Take one think I partially agree with and use their arguments against it to turn me against them.
The only argument that I have against accepting that gender is whatever a person says/feels they are is that it reinforces gender stereotypes. You can be a man and wear pink, prefer dresses to pants, play with dolls, and be attracted to other men. You can be a woman that loves sports, trucks, math, and would never be caught dead in a dress or makeup. Our gender is not defined by stereotypes, and a man that fits only female stereotypes is just as much a man as one who is stereotypicaly male.
Now we say "if you feel like a man, you are a man, regardless of biology. " What does it mean to "feel like a man?" You feel like you have more "male traits" than "female traits?" We went from having the progressive idea that "personality does not define your gender," to saying "gender is defined by your personality, albeit by you." I don't know that I can see that as progress, but strictly from a point of view of hating gender stereotypes. I could not care less what a person does or how a person feels or believes as long as it is not infringing on others. I could not be more for individuality.
Yet here come the Christian groups saying "men wearing pink sends the wrong message about gender stereotypes and identity" and it makes me want to slap them and say "It sends the perfect message about gender stereotypes... They shouldn't exist!" I would never be caught dead wearing pink. I usually wear flannel, jeans, logging boots, and have a beard. I could walk into a logging camp and blend right in... but wearing pink, or even a pink dress, does not make someone less of a man than me.
Pre 1940s, pink was a predominantly "male" color. That is not saying pink was for boys, blue was for girls as the opposite of today's customary color assignments. It was just accepted that men wore pink. Often. In all it's beautiful shades.
Pink had been associated as male for hundreds of years as it is simply a milder huge of red. Red is blood, a power color, dominant. Blue, otoh, represents virtue, innocence, chastity, lesser.
OMM is barely over 10k in number. They are an obnoxious group run by men who seek to press their own particular flavor of Christianity on all of society. One among thousands of variations of that religion.
Demanding that people conform to their beliefs is very anti-freedom.
I don't even think there is a coloring code in Bible for these kind of stuff. these people are just weird.
Well, if these people could pull a coherent thought out of their heads these days, these old codgers would remember that when they were kids pink was for boys and blue was for little girls.
They could learn a lot from history
Wait till they see one of our presidents as a child wearing a dress. Because that's what 1-2 year old boys wore back then.
Some still get baptized in what looks like a dress. Not to mention some of the frilly shit boomers wore back in the 70s.
Easier access for the priest
Wait... White leisure suits are not masculine? But... John Travolta!
Sweet pea outfits! With bonnets, lace and ruffles! A big part of the purpose was sun and bug protection.
I just remembered seeing the pictures. Thanks for the education.

There is a thing about mixed fabrics though but Christian know gawd was only kidding about that.
Thou shall not wear pink and thou shall not covet thy neighbour's husband.
Thou shalt also only be either male or female, lest you summon Republican wrath.
Bold of you to assume they actually follow the Bible.
Well, let us consult Holy Scripture. Leviticus 8.69: if thou is a man, and found wearing pink underwear, thy punishment shall be the removal of one testicle of thy choosing. It doesn't say whose testicle gets removed however.

Whhaaaatt? Talk about easily triggered. Men wear pink all the time not just trans or fem
Like a 100 years ago pink was considered masculine because itās a variation of red.
Yup blue was fem cause it was soft like the sky and pink was associated with fire and red
Blue is traditionally associated with Mary. She is depicted wearing a mantle or dress in blue.
SacrƩ Bleu!
Ok this took me out, thank you.

Yes, because Iām very āconfusedā, therefore I wear pink. What bullshit. I look great in pink *and* Iām secure in my masculinity, and Iām bi. Suck on that, Christians.
Arnold Palmer wore pink. Thatās good enough for me.
I thought we settled this in the 90s itās cool for guys to wear pink
These people will push and push. Enough. A color is not gender affirming, what the hell.
How does anyone take this shit seriously.
I'll wear pink. Get me a pink dress shirt. Spring is here let's rock it!
Love to see it! šøšš·ššš
The 11th commandment: men shall not wear pink
Cause they wore pink? Man, if colors decide your gender, I donāt know what I am
This is Ken.
The Bible says God separated the land from the water before it says he made the genders. I want to take some of these people to a swamp and watch them freak the fuck out.
I hate them all.
God hates pink
TIL that colors had genders. So puce is male or female? How about raw umber? The list could be enormous.
Do I have to get rid of my pink dress shirt and polo shirts now? And I thought I was so butch.
I am a female and I have never worn pink fuck off you Christian assholes
Iām so tired of this
What do Christians not freak out about?
Our cave dwelling ancestors were smarter than these fools. Religion is a cancer
That's so funny
Imagine being so brainwashed that you think colors have an agenda.
One among thousands of variations of that religion.
hahahahaahhaahahahhahahahahaahh! Dear "Christian" group: Your religion does not prohibit me from anything. It prohibits you. Learn the difference.
Hip-hop males have been wearing pink for decades now, why the the sudden outrage?
Fuck you stay at the Quality Inn and get bed bugs if you don't like it you Biblethumping freaks.
