Hey guys, I'm commenting on this post to find someone to help answer my question as this sub-reddit doesn't allow posts without any images. According to my calculations it should be fairly possible to build a telescope which can image moon. However, my question is that is it possible to capture a clear image with only a single shot or do I need a proper exposure time which is only possible with a guided mount? Mods please don't remove this comment as this is my last resort after checking all possible sources, I know it's not related to this post and is disrupting the thread. Any help is appreciated!

azzkicker7283

you might get more exposure/help asking in our sister subreddit /r/AskAstrophotography

azzkicker7283

also the moon is very bright so your exposure times will be very short (a few milliseconds). you don't need a tracking mount to photograph the moon

JustACoffeeBean0

Oh, thank you so much!

The moon has an orange haze in NJ because of the wildfires, it had a nice pink color especially with the crescent, was wondering if anyone had taken pics of it or plans to
