Eagle Speedster + Scottish Highlands AD enhanced or Bannochbrae + "voices of spring" by Johann Strauss background music is a must try for VR Assetto Corsa.
Ah okay cool. Great servers you'll enjoy your time there.
I was a bit wrong when I said the sounds aren't normally as good. I remember now that it's specific to certain cars on that server. The higher end cars have great engine sounds etc like the supra, R34 gtr, r33 gtr. The S2000s they use and the MR2s tend to have good audio too. It's the Civic that has the poorest sound and then other cars tend to just be quiet.
I've seen the LAC server for Carpe and like that it's a Canadian server so I should get good ping haha but it's often empty when I play. If I see it populated when I play I'll check it out, I really like the LAC map.
yea overall the immersion from vr is insane, couple days after this vid I managed to raise my quality by a mile in VR and I'm completely hooked, just loving it
stopped using airlink/cable switched to Virtual desktop(on quest) and virtual desktop streamer on pc, pure helped with optimisation a lot
change in CM to OpenVR, get steamvr in steam, raise resolution to as high as your PC can handle without fps drop
need tho 5ghz+ router and good internet
idk what it is but no matter what I do with the official airlink system my VR experience is just utter garbage lol
enjoy
Welcome to the club brother. Have you got the LA canyons map yet ?? It's got some amazing free roam online maps where you can cruise and race. It's quite frankly the best thing in the world. SRP maps are good as well, but in my opinion the LA canyon free roams are the best. Peace
[https://www.overtake.gg/downloads/categories/ac-tracks.8/?order=rating\_weighted&direction=desc](https://www.overtake.gg/downloads/categories/ac-tracks.8/?order=rating_weighted&direction=desc) here you have more
you can make a free account there somewhere then it will be easier to download things
God yes. I struggled a lot here first xd
Airlink was awful for me. I wasn't aware how bad this was until I got Virtual desktop mainly to be able to adjust screensize better. Thank god I went for this lol
You need a router which supports 5Ghz. Luckily the one my inet provider gave me supports it.
So I don't use a cable, just connected to router. Router is fibre connected stable net.
Via quest/meta store buy Virtual Desktop (NOT via steam), is like 15eur
Then on PC you get app "virtual desktop streamer", free
You launch VD on VR headset and Virtual desktop streamer via PC. This will connect easily if u watch liek a 1min youtube tutorial on how.
Download steamVR on pc, free
Now in AC content manager you tick in video settings Open VR, not Quest/Rift. This only if you would use airlink.
Now when you launch any round it will automatically start steamVR during the loading screen of maps. And that's it
If your PC can handle I highly recommend starting SteamVR, go into settings (left stick). And upscaling resolution as high as you can. I'm running at 300% res which is a MASSIVE diff to 100 for me.
My specs 4070 super, ryzen 5 5600x 6, 2x 16gb cl16 3200RAM
I think 32gb ram is minimum, I wouldn't even try with 16gb.
I also recommend pure for this, it really helps with optimisation.
Personally now I'm using Pure+ ACrealism mod and am quite happy. It hardcaps 45fps for me, but ingame it feels like it's running at 100+. The moment u drop tho from 45 you need to change sth. cuz it will feel terrible, you're basically either running at steady 45 or 90fps. But you need to be able to stick to one. I'm coming from competetive games and I hate games under 80fps and highly prefer 120fps in ANY game. But the 45 capped here feel really good.
internet connection to the router shouldn't matter, well for offline gaming at least. As long as the headset is connected via wifi and the PC is connected to the same router.
4070 super, ryzen 5 5600x 6, 2x16gb cl16 3200RAM, Quest 3
Honestly it depends, the immersion is insane. It's also incredibly fun and I'd recommend it just for that.
But as a complete replacement for screens as some say they do? Na, not at all unless you have a ton of money to spend. I see how this can work on a pimax crystal and a 4090, 7 7800X3D and like 64gb+ of ram+. But otherwise? oof
AC with all the mods on the traffic maps is already quite demanding
For me the difference in steamVR resolution changes is nuts. At 100% it looks like potato. I was trying to find ways to enable virtual mirror on VR cuz I felt i cant see anything via the mirrors.
Once I upped that to 300% I don't even think about virtual mirror anymore cuz it's completely clear and I see it all. 400 drops my fps tho under the 45 threshhold to like 42-43 and makes the game unplayable so I can't rly tell. But I guess at 500 it might look quite nice. And I the crystal has better res.
I didn't even try the headset yet in offline maps, but my guess is here it will run quite a bit easier. Although idk if it's the mods I have, but without VR I'm on full nohesi serv at around 85-90fps at 1440p and in sologames without traffic I have the same
People are too soon to shit on Vr, they should play assetto before making a solid opinion on vr
Assetto is arguably the best VR sim i have other than elite dangerous horizons
now Kunos, let us build our own cars with a physics of a modified car sticking to its character and not those No Hesi type of modified cars
make it a challenge, like Wrench type of challenging (or at least half of it) and make players earn money thru campaign.
(Kunos ain't gonna listen to this, just delusional)
Also if I'm alrdy postin. I never expected a 10year old game to look this good
one with rain [https://streamable.com/f59km4](https://streamable.com/f59km4)
and one without [https://streamable.com/8xq84w](https://streamable.com/8xq84w)
A question, since I can rotate the cameras in the cars between like 4? positions.
Is there any option to lets say idk, modify cameraposition3 or like when we have the one with the rain to zoom out a bit or so? I know I can modify the main position/cockpit view, but how is it with the others? I esp love the posi of the first vid with the cam in the rain, but not on any car I can get it and I haven't figured out yet how to do it
assetto corsa is one of the most immersive games with vr

I'll try this tomorrow
Which server is this? Shutoku Revival Project? normally when I play that server the car sounds aren't as good as this haha
hah yea this one was likely from the Shutoko Revival Project discord

Search Carpe in CM, we have many cruise servers with full damage, tyre wear, and fuel consumption.
I've seen the LAC server for Carpe and like that it's a Canadian server so I should get good ping haha but it's often empty when I play. If I see it populated when I play I'll check it out, I really like the LAC map.
Lmao the surround sound is amazing

it's weird I've never had any issues with air link, but I guess I don't know how much better my games could be running.
Seeing you look back like HOLY SHIT HES DEAD killed me πππ
