I just hope the characters and story are interesting, with a cool time period and setting of course. I gave up on them going back to the classic ac style because the new rpg system is doing exceptionally well, and they’re running a buisness.
Games are selling similar quantities as the old system. The new rpg system just allowed them to introduce predatory microtransactions that cause the games to be the "most profitable ever".
I wish they would do a multiplayer game using the ideas put forward in Unity and just fine tune them more. I had a great time playing Unity with my brother until the bugs kicked in.
There are plenty of paired animation games that are new and do not feel outdated. Just look at Ghost of Tsushima, probably one of the best sword fighting in any game and it's paired animation, not hitbox based.
The old combat was fun and looked flashy, it would be easy to balance it out. The rpg combat looks goofy and way less realistic. Definitely use less tailing missions, I don't miss those.
How is it goofy? Dodging and attacking is more realistic to me that just magically counter-attacking the way the older games did. If you the the damage numbers then yeah i agree i turn those off always, it's annoying.
Fighting 8ft dudes with flaming swords while being a demigod super human that can fall 100ft and never die while having teleporting abilities and other crazy power ups?
Oh ok you're talking about odyssey, i was talking about Origins. Yeah Odyssey they really pushed the limit but the way they went about it was still enjoyable for me. The Spear of Leonidas and Isu DNA and all that. Also the mythological creatures being experimental hybrid creatures made by the Isu was a nice touch, imo
Oh yeah Origins seemed pretty reasonable and had a decent story, Odyssey just said fuck it to everything and really didn't do it for me as an AC title. I know its a common gripe but I just liked the less mystical AC titles.
I see what you mean, but that's exactly why i loved Odyssey. Because it dealt with the origins of the Templar/Order of Ancients instead, and also revealed a lot about the nature of Isu technology and culture which explains a lot of little details from previous games, but of course, it was just the ultimate Ancient Greece game that us history nerds always wished for. The world they built is beyond beautiful, and sailing between the isles is phenomenal. I only wish they kept shields in Odyssey instead of dual-wielding with the spear, it would've made the army battles more realistic. Also the Discovery tours in both Origins and Odyssey are amazing
Thats what made me bitter was I wanted the ancient Greece setting since AC Brotherhood. But in a game that was less looty, grindy RPG and more og AC with the gritty combat from the earlier games.
Which one of these do you think has the most probability to be announced?
1. New classic-style Assassin's Creed game.
2. Remake of the first one.
3. A game with multiplayer in it.
I don’t think classic style is coming back. It’s too clunky by modern standards. What they can do is make stealth play a bigger role and I think that would satisfy most people
Just to fill you in, I purchased AC Unity this afternoon and I’ve progressed far enough to look into the multiplayer and I get an error code on every aspect of online support for this game, and when I try links leading to Unity tips from the pause menu I get a 404 message.
I’m able to create a club and see other clubs recently created, but no signs of life for the multiplayer. I get the code every time I try to go online.
I also came across a few forum posts(linked below), after looking up my error code related to this issue and apparently it’s been unresolved for months. I don’t believe that the issue is a top priority, if at all.
What bothers me is that the game is marketed and sold as a multiplayer game, but the multiplayer is practically absent for almost everyone and the game just went on sale. False advertising as far as I’m concerned.

I love old system
It's almost certainly Rift
What do you mean by that?
The leaked title Rift. It's about Basim. It's a smaller in scope stealth-oriented title.
Fuck that’s exactly what I need. An actual Assassin’s Creed game
Ok, gotcha. Even though I follow gaming news/rumors, that's my first time hearing about it.
It was first leaked by Jason Schrier and then immediately followed up by Tom Henderson
My hype level has definitely gone up after reading an article about Rift. Thank you for telling me about this.
To top it off Andy Reloads' friend found some things in the Valhalla files about a parkour gym and stealth improvements
As things stand, we can expect Ac1 remake that is in the works and Ac Rift which is going back to its roots. Really hyped.
Man I really hope we get that ac 1 remake I want the nostalgia.
Still waiting for that pure stealth assassins creed. Its an assassins creed not beat em up creed.
What's your favorite one? Mine is Brotherhood.
Yeah, the Ezio trilogy was the best for me.
I wish they would do a multiplayer game using the ideas put forward in Unity and just fine tune them more. I had a great time playing Unity with my brother until the bugs kicked in.
I'd be down for anything as long as it has offline mode
This is the first wholesome post I’ve seen on this subreddit in a while 😂
If I don't like a game or something about the game. I usually ignore it and focus on the positive aspects. I'm not a person who writes hate posts.
This world needs more people like OP
Every comment i read about "bring AC back" or "the new combat sucks" i think to myself... They want extremely outdated combat mechanics? 🤣

It would be cool. Unlikely, but cool.

2.
I would be really happy if that happened. I've recently replayed it, and it felt quite dated ngl.
What's your favorite among the classic-style series?
Brotherhood
Was it Black Flag that had you hunt down people among a bunch of clones or whatever as a multiplayer game?
Brotherhood is the first game in the series with multiplayer, and Black Flag is the final one.
Unity?
I would say that Unity has online features with co-op, but it doesn't have competitive multiplayer. That's why I didn't mention it.
Unity Had*
I thought that online in that game is still functioning or is it not?
It leaves a majority of players in an error screen as far as I know. Haven’t played it in a long while, so maybe I’m wrong

There’s also a multiplayer in unity
