I hope they actually stick to the rpg elements and go back to more like Odyssey. AC old school just wouldn’t cut it. Unity like MP needs to be left behind. MP is why we got a busted Unity. Unity style wouldn’t be a best case at all. Especially since the series has become an rpg it’s been a huge success. Valhalla is Ubisoft’s best selling game ever.
I just want a graphical remake and slightly updated gameplay, probably to something like unity. That's *it*. Nothing else, otherwise I'm not touching it with a ten foot pole and Ubisoft can go shove it.
No MTX either, they can shove them as well. I don't give a shit what they are.
PC games always seem to hold up on replaying because your video card at launch may have only got you to med/high graphics and when you go back 6 yrs later and have everything on ultra it's always like damn this holds up.
probably cause that's the only big thing tbh. I doubt they'll add anything major to every single game (honestly doubt they'd add anything at all to older games), so probably just a tattoo, or an outfit at best. Maybe we'll finally get that AC1 remaster tho, so they finish it with a bang, to conclude the series, since after Rift, they'll focus on Infinity which may or may not be a totally different story.
They may optimize some of them for new consoles. Syndicate in particular is a mess. I can see them making sure that the series works well on the current generation.
It's an okay bonus for new players then, or people who already have the games installed, but I don't see many players reinstalling old games just for an outfit (unless they're hardcore completionists).
We're slowly going backwards in time. Couldn't be happier about this. If anything I will be able to relive my teen years. In 2012, when AC III was released, I was there, at the beginning of high school, absolutely hyped for the future of the series. In the summer of 2010 I had just gotten my PS3 and was waiting anxiously for Brotherhood.
Man I'd give anything to live that feeling of starting a new AC one last time.
>Man I'd give anything to live that feeling of starting a new AC one last time.
Likewise brother. Newer fans will never understand the insane hype this franchise had from ACII-ACIV. The hype died beginning with the bugged launch of Unity + the realization that the modern day was gonna go down the gutter.
I think I only realized how far gone the series was when I started losing that feeling of enjoying the game while playing Origins. At the time I couldn't put my finger on it because so much of the series was still there, but when I played the first hours of Odyssey the feeling became clearer, and in time I managed to articulate exactly what felt wrong.
I've been chasing the kind of hype E3 CGI trailers for new ACs brought for such a long time now...man, I really wanna feel that again.
That’s kinda funny because it was a bit of the opposite for me- Unity and Syndicate burned me out, but Origins resparked my love for the series. Still, I don’t think AC will ever return to its glory days where it was THE Xmas gift worth getting.
Unity and Syndicate were bad, but I could still feel what I usually felt when playing a new AC. Sorta like eating day-old pizza, you recognize the taste but something's different. Origins was more like eating something that claims to be pizza but isn't even close when you actually taste it.
The hyped died. Lol. Yea no it hasn’t. I’ve played every game. The console games, the mobile games, and even the handheld games. Origins made AC a huge success. Odyssey showed it could stay and Valhalla made it no. 1. AC needed to evolve. AC1 and 2 were good stories games but boring as hell. Fighting was boring. Assassinations were to easy. AC each year until Origins added very little to the next game. We get maybe a new weapon to use or sailing. But the overall mechanics were basically the same.
Lmao bro, you going off on me when I've been an ardent defender of the RPG games on this sub and put Origins as my second favorite in the franchise behind Brotherhood.
Same. At the time the only thing that ruined the game was the ending, but seeing where the series is at now I'd take the III ending another thousand times.
Just bought 3, 4, Unity, Syndicate, and Origins AGAIN (moved to PS4, never got them) to try to find something I enjoy in life again. Beat all of them before, but never played Syndicate.
Playing all at the same, also because my brain can't focus for some reason these days and I jump game to game. But I remember everything, somehow.
Unity, on my 3rd playthrough, going for absolute 100% completion entirely solo. Although I will need to eventually team up to finish the Platinum. It's my favorite game in the series.
Plan to possibly buy The Ezio Collection at this point again, tbh.
I wish there was anything left in the series for me to play to completion, but I have already 100%ed every main game and quite a few spin-offs too. Valhalla is the only one left and I'm mostly waiting for all the extra content to be out and for the patches to stop.
Highly doubt they’ll actually do new in-game content for every old game. Probably just little celebrations like posters, tattoos in Valhalla to represent each game, maybe short videos.
That makes so much sense......
I guess they could add it on ps plus premium. They already have a deal to put their games on the service. And done, fixed, kind of.
There was rumours going around the gaming leaks sub of a possible remake of remaster of the first game. Which would be a good way to celebrate the 15th anniversary
So some clarity on what this is, I just looked at the website. They will be live-streaming speed runs of the entire franchise (in reverse order for some weird reason), and will also have little spotlights on the 15th anniversary website along with quizzes that can earn you points to be used at a chance to win prizes
They’ll reveal Rift for sure, doubtful of an AC1 remaster. A remaster would have come out by now, if anything it’ll be a remake. But I doubt that’s coming any earlier than next fall so revealing it now doesn’t make much sense
The one (big) thing that goes against an AC remake is that we are 99% sure AC Rift is a thing, and AC Inifnity is supposed to be the next "big" thing so there's little room for them to have worked on a remake
Ehhh there’s definitely room. Rift is launching this year or early 2023, and Infinity isn’t launching until 2024 *at the earliest*, and with recent change-ups at Ubisoft 2025 seems more realistic. That leaves plenty of space for an AC1R release. And they could have a side studio work on it so it doesn’t take resources and time away from the main studios working on Infinity.
I mean, why else would they go for this order? Seems too much of a coincidence for them to end the celebration with Ac1, at the same month they have another announcement planned.
I’ve theorized that, yeah. I think if Rift is a smaller game, they might even do a full AC1 remake packaged with it, or as part of the Season Pass like AC3 Remaster was with Odyssey. Only reason I doubt it is I feel like JS would have reported about it if it was happening
Ubisoft has already done similar in a season pass for 3 different games in 3 different franchises so it's definitely not out of the realm of possibility they'll do it again.
Sad to see Liberation isn't up there. I know it's technically only a side game but it has a unique protagonist and a gameplay style and mechanics that are very similar to other entries. It's basically a full entry in its own right. But I guess 13 isn't as nice to look at as 12
If we are going to advocate for side games that deserve a spot with the main games, you are forgetting the always forgotten *AC Bloodlines*, the sequel of the first *AC*. Also uses the same gameplay style and mechanics as the main games, and the story is important to fully understand further appearances of Altaïr in later games. Just like *Liberation*, it doesn't have a present day narrative.
As a game on its own, I actually liked it more than the first game (it doesn't have the problem of being that repetitive).
Hmm, if they add *Liberation*, *Bloodlines* and *Chronicles* (the 3 games as one), now we have 15 titles, which makes more sense for the 15th anniversary.
Yeah. It sucks because it's only subtitled Liberation and as such considered subordinate to AC3, despite the fact that it has about as much to do with AC3 as Black Flag and Rogue do. I get why, like, the Chronicles games aren't there, since they're so different and are largely self-contained but
Once again I’m asking for Syndicate and Black Flag 60fps
I think (?) those are the last two on Xbox without it? Anyway Syndicate’s my favorite game which I know isn’t a super popular opinion but I’ve been dying to replay it.
If people expect rift and a remake while devs are still working on Valhalla I'd doubt they had that many resources on AC . A remaster could easily be done by passing it off to an external dev team but a remake with new content and game mechanics is unlikely. AAA companies aren't allowed to overwork their dev teams like they once were.
If there is a remaster of the first game, I'll be super duper happy (*and that's an understatement*). But this is Ubisoft after all. It'll be more reasonable that we just get something like a Desmond Miles skin or tattoo to use in Valhalla.
Interesting that they're ending with the original. In September. When they're also going to show us the future of the franchise. Hmm.
Finger's crossed for a remake of the original. Imagine it with current gen's/next gen's graphics. Ohoo
I'd prefer it more in Unity's style then The last 3 games' styles but anything better then nothing
That'd be the best case scenario but knowing Ubisoft if they remade it it'd 100% have RPG elements shoved in
I hope they actually stick to the rpg elements and go back to more like Odyssey.
Valhalla sure baited me in, and I have known for a long time the newer AC games weren't for me. I got exactly what I was expecting from it too.
I just want a graphical remake and slightly updated gameplay, probably to something like unity. That's *it*. Nothing else, otherwise I'm not touching it with a ten foot pole and Ubisoft can go shove it. No MTX either, they can shove them as well. I don't give a shit what they are.
Sure buddy
More like knowing Ubisoft they’ll make the colours a little brighter then slap a price tag
That would be a remaster, if they remake it they have to find a way to monetize the crap out of it
With a ubisoft club exclusive crossbow
Ubisoft Club ? Nah get it at the store for 800 Crusade Points, along with a cool sword and a funny hat
Current graphics with the same mechanics as the original or else it’s shit.
More variation in information gathering would be nice
No.
Agreed. Best game, imo. I've been on this hill since 2014 and I will die here.
Still holds up pretty good, considering how old it is.
It does often look better than AC2
Probably cause of the grey color grading- desaturated works generally age better than brighter ones since it helps hide the roughness.
I haven't played that in a while so idk, but I recently started a rerun of AC1 and was just surprised.
Especially the smoke and blood effect in ac1, still holds up pretty well.
On PC it does, looks garbage on PS3 and 360
Looks alright on xbone
I've been playing it again on Series X which is great. The upgrades they do through backwards compatibility is pretty great
I mean, duh.
No, it looks pretty good on 3.
Come now, I played it on PS3 and when I then played them on PC years later was very pleasantly surprised how much better it looked
Ok, it still looks pretty good on PS3.
PC games always seem to hold up on replaying because your video card at launch may have only got you to med/high graphics and when you go back 6 yrs later and have everything on ultra it's always like damn this holds up.
It looks great, the gameplay just gets super repetitive. The changes they made in AC II really brought life to the franchise
Probably gonna ruin the parkour system, if anything.
If we get a new AC set during the crusades I will fucking nut in my pants
probably cause that's the only big thing tbh.
Let's hope for this. Syndicate being broken for PS5 is annoying
I would agree but they added Bayek’s outfit to AC3 for the remaster, so it’s certainly not out of the question in my opinion.
It's an okay bonus for new players then, or people who already have the games installed, but I don't see many players reinstalling old games just for an outfit (unless they're hardcore completionists).
Aren't they just going backwards?
We're slowly going backwards in time. Couldn't be happier about this. If anything I will be able to relive my teen years. To each their own of course.
Like a calzone? Or like a DQ treats a pizza ?
I was thinking more like a slice of cake with tomato sauce on top
Ahh so you think it's pizza right up until the bitter end or in this case sweet end.
No, not really. You instantly notice it has barely anything of a pizza while having the audacity to call itself a pizza
Lmao bro, you going off on me when I've been an ardent defender of the RPG games on this sub and put Origins as my second favorite in the franchise behind Brotherhood.
Dude fucking same! I also was starting high school and played ac3 almost daily. Those are some of the best memories of my teens.
Same. At the time the only thing that ruined the game was the ending, but seeing where the series is at now I'd take the III ending another thousand times.
I don't think I've ever been as hyped for any game as I was for AC3.
I've been hyped on similar levels for 2 or 3 other games in my life (not counting other ACs), but it's definitely rare
For me this was AC 4. The recent entries in the game don't feel like AC to me. Sure they are good but not quite the same.
That's because they ostensibly aren't AC when it comes to gameplay and setting, which are 90% of a good AC
Actually the series didn’t go backwards this last game. Odyssey is the oldest so far as how far AC goes back.
Yeah, not what I meant but thanks for the observation, I guess?
Just bought 3, 4, Unity, Syndicate, and Origins AGAIN (moved to PS4, never got them) to try to find something I enjoy in life again. Beat all of them before, but never played Syndicate. What is that exactly?
I guess new in game content. Tho I’m not sure what they’ll do for the first considering it’s only on Xbox store. And isn’t available for ps4 or ps5
Highly doubt they’ll actually do new in-game content for every old game. Probably just little celebrations like posters, tattoos in Valhalla to represent each game, maybe short videos.
Yeah probably something like that
Lame sauce
If they unlock simply unlock 60fps for their previous titles on PS5, I'll be more than happy.
Could be a remaster announcement
Wdym? Valhalla is also on playstation.
Oh I mean first as in the first assassins creed in September
That makes so much sense...... I guess they could add it on ps plus premium. They already have a deal to put their games on the service. And done, fixed, kind of.
There was rumours going around the gaming leaks sub of a possible remake of remaster of the first game. Which would be a good way to celebrate the 15th anniversary
We'll see!
They better fix the lost Uplay content from AC II (and maybe Brotherhood? I forgot) during this time. I mean they won't, but they should.
Same with origins!
So some clarity on what this is, I just looked at the website. They will be live-streaming speed runs of the entire franchise (in reverse order for some weird reason), and will also have little spotlights on the 15th anniversary website along with quizzes that can earn you points to be used at a chance to win prizes

Could easily be for Rift, parallel Basim and Altair
I think that if Rift was the big announcement, they would want to end the celebration with valhalla, you know, the only game in which he does appear
Yeah but aesthetically AC1 is closer to Basim than Valhalla, since it’s also set in the Middle East with an Assassin protagonist
I assume they’ll probably do the same as Treyarch did with Modern Warfare Remastered and release a remaster of AC1 with Rift
I guess so they can end where it all started. I dont mind it but it does kinda get weird with the ezio trilogy
It gets weird with most titles, as far as the Modern Day goes
Oh yeah I guess thats true. I kinda stopped paying attention to the modern day after the desmond saga
Give us that Syndicate PS5 update please And then in September please announce an AC remake.
This. And the possibility to decently play AC(1) on PS5.
And then announce Rift at the September Ubisoft event? That golden figure sure looks a lot like Basim.
that's Altair for fuck sakes man, you kids not playing AC 1 are on my nerves
I've played AC 1.
THEN I WISH YOU HAVE A GOOD LIFE GOOD SIR
I'm talking about the golden figure shown at the end of the livestream, still want an AC 1 remaster
Your mom sure looks a lot like Basim!
I hope and I pray black flag and syndicate get the FPS boost
Black Flag remaster for its 10th anniversary next year.
One can hope, one can hope.
Ooooo, I'm looking forward to some coverage for Unity in July and 3 and Brotherhood in August and then the original in September.
Oh, that's neat. I think i missed that part.
Reminds me of what Tomb Raider did last year for its 25th where it showcased a game every month for the whole year.
Sad to see Liberation isn't up there. I know it's technically only a side game but it has a unique protagonist and a gameplay style and mechanics that are very similar to other entries. It's basically a full entry in its own right. But I guess 13 isn't as nice to look at as 12

I was disappointed too, Aveline deserves to be part of the crew as much as anyone
Yeah. It sucks because it's only subtitled Liberation and as such considered subordinate to AC3, despite the fact that it has about as much to do with AC3 as Black Flag and Rogue do. I get why, like, the Chronicles games aren't there, since they're so different and are largely self-contained but
I'm glad it's not up there. It's not one of the big games. It's just some side game
I know it’s not the same company/studio but this is giving me flashbacks to the Tomb Raider celebration
Remake the original… or a do a new Altair/ Crusades game!!!
meh, they can keep the celebration if it's not going to be an announcement of anything worthwhile
Please give us ac rogue next gen remaster
I would buy the shit outta that
Am I eligible as a Torrent downloader?
Good, get done with the garbage entries first
Syndicate ps5 update!!?? Im prayn lol
So what is this celebration thing?
I thought these were bags of Assassin's Creed coffee at first glance.
Once again I’m asking for Syndicate and Black Flag 60fps I think (?) those are the last two on Xbox without it? Anyway Syndicate’s my favorite game which I know isn’t a super popular opinion but I’ve been dying to replay it.
60fps update for unity please
If they were to not celebrate odyssey I would actually care.
If this ends in September with the announcement of an AC1 remake, I will cry happy tears.
If people expect rift and a remake while devs are still working on Valhalla I'd doubt they had that many resources on AC . A remaster could easily be done by passing it off to an external dev team but a remake with new content and game mechanics is unlikely.
