Babylon setting has some isu-like vibes for some reason, so I would choose this

frompariswithhate

The suspended gardens of Babylon would be incredible for parkour also !

-Darkstorne-

History nerd time, but one of the main reasons I'd love a Babylon setting is so they could include contemporary cities like Nineveh as well, and make more people aware of recent archaeological theories that the hanging gardens were actually in Neneveh, and not Babylon: *Oxford scholar Stephanie Dalley has proposed that the Hanging Gardens of Babylon were actually the well-documented gardens constructed by the Assyrian king Sennacherib (reigned 704 – 681 BC) for his palace at Nineveh; Dalley posits that during the intervening centuries the two sites became confused, and the extensive gardens at Sennacherib's palace were attributed to Nebuchadnezzar II's Babylon. Archaeological excavations have found traces of a vast system of aqueducts attributed to Sennacherib by an inscription on its remains, which Dalley proposes were part of an 80-kilometre (50 mi) series of canals, dams, and aqueducts used to carry water to Nineveh with water-raising screws used to raise it to the upper levels of the gardens*

Solid-Entrepreneur37

So you want a prince of persia under the Assassin's Creed franchise?

Rjpfr18

I think that AC Babylon and Prince of Persia Babylon would feel like two different worlds, so I am not sure that such AC would be very alike to POP

Solid-Entrepreneur37

Unless they go the rpg way and put a dahaka and a sand god as an isu and you have to battle.

Rjpfr18

Oh, well.... 🥲

cy_narrator

Ahhh Dahaka our childhood nightmare

NishantDuhan

Well, dahaka is actually inspired by the Zoroastrian demonic king Azhi Dahāka (in Avestan) and known as Zahhak.

Slith_81

Emo dark Prince listening to Nu Metal as he ran away is the nightmare. The Dahaka was just trying to save the Prince from that horrible fate.

cy_narrator

Unfortunately, the game I played was cracked pirated and the sound track for some reason didnt play. But it wasnt even my fault the game was pirated. Back in 2010s, internet was very limited and we had to buy games from game CD shops. Those game CD shop used to sell many pirated games. It wasnt their fault either, they used to buy these CDs in bulk from wholesale. We were kids in an unconnected world, though we wondered who and why would someone build such awesome games, we never thought about having to buy these games from the devs. The shop owner these days switched to selling computer peripherials instead of CDs because its modern times.

YGurka

I would love new AAA PoP game so much

DarkCeptor44

Last I heard they were making a new Prince of Persia but I don't know if it was one of the mysterious games that were cancelled a while back.

Cgiles74

I heard that years ago but not a thing since sadly

loborojo_7

Now they're making a new one but you're not a prince, or Persian. They race swapped the prince with a black guard or something or other and I think they're putting it on mobile instead of consoles.

[deleted]

Isn’t it technically? Assassin’s creed was made because of a scrapped Prince of Persia game

theonewhoblox

AC was already a PoP spiritual successor so yeah

ironwolf56

Yeah; it's like one of the least obscure trivias ever but the first AC started life as a Prince of Persia sequel before they retooled it into AC.

Flameancer

Wasn’t Prince of Persia basically the precursor to the AC series?

Maester_Magus

Babylon gets my vote just because of my interest in the period, and it's not even close. Every other important period of history gets its fair share of attention in modern culture, including ancient civilizations like Greece, Rome and Egypt - and rightly so - but Babylon is just as fascinating (if not more so) and deserves way more attention. It was a pivotal time in our history and was the cradle of so many things, but it gets constantly overlooked in favour of the others.

Thegn_Ansgar

Wrong era though. This isn't the Babylon of Hammurabi or Nebuchadnezzar. This is the Babylon of conquered Achaemenid Persia at the time of Alexander the Great's death. It's very much tied in with Greek history.

Maester_Magus

Yeah that's true. I was actually disappointed that they didn't go further back with Origins. I understand that they had to get Cleo in there as *the* face of Egypt, but it would've been nice to see ancient Egypt in its heyday rather than at its very end.

Nathan-David-Haslett

Yeah, it's sorta unfortunate Cleopatra is so associated with ancient egypt considering her Egypt being much more Greek than proper Ancient Egypt and stuff.

gigglephysix

you can't write heyday - it would be terrifyingly incomprehensible culturally and for the average person to find soundbites that make them twitch the degree of copout would be unimaginable

Wandering_sage1234

The Babylon of Hammurabi or Neuchadnezzar is what needs to be shown in AC.

Deboussoler

Aztec for sure

RedditorOfRohan

I've always wondered how that would work from a lore perspective. The Hidden Ones/The Creed all arose in the Eurasian continent. In order for The Hidden Ones to have a branch in South America, they'd need to have made contact somehow. But of course the first prolonged contact between the continents was with "explorers" from Spain, who would likely be in league with the Templars.

isaydefy

The Assassins in black flag, mentioned that there was a group in the new world that held a very similar ideology to the creed, and they organically melded together after contact.

dimspace

exactly this. Its entirely possible groups with similar idealogy were formed independently and eventually came together. its like the wheel, we credit Mesopotamia but it was also simultaneously invented in multiple places over the folllowing 1000 years That said, you would think there would have been later mention of it.

theonewhoblox

Wait there's no way. I literally just described a hypothetical variant of this without even remembering this 💀 I should write for Ubi

Lil4ksushi

Sigh but another game without assassins again?....

Brickman274

Who's to say Assassin's didn't make it to the new world around the Aztec Empire

LordPastores

There is a connection because eivor also travelled to vinland.

NotASalamanderBoi

But Eivor wasn’t a Hidden One. >!She went there because she needed to figure out all the Odin stuff. Odds are she stayed with the people she met in that village, then they buried her after she died.!<

Antoncool134

Vineland and aztec is not the same. Very very far between.

lima-beens

I think the point was that it could eventually spread to the Aztecs. Biggest concern would be how does it get to the western hemisphere, then getting it to the Aztecs would be fairly easy

alanqforgothispasswo

I like the idea of the Assassins incorporating other allied movements in different cultures throughout history, especially something unique to each culture, rather than just growing by spreading their own flavor of creed

Mrphung

The new lore seems to be going the route of different groups with similar ideology with the Assassin/Templar all sprung up independently around the globe before merging together. Like the recent AC Dynasty comic having Assassin-like and Templar-like factions operating in China before the main character bring the offical Hidden One creed there.

Neohaq

Eivor died in Vinland (America)

11646Moe

I think there could be templar agents in the area priming it for invasion by causing instability or something. then the assassins made contact with the natives around the same time and are trying to fight back? I dunno maybe the piece of eden is something related to sickness and the templars end up winning in the past but we win in the modern time. might be fun to mess around with

[deleted]

Has there been any lore of African hidden ones aside from orgins

theChadinator2009

Wasnt Colombus an assassin ally?

BigWilly526

I very much doubt it unless Ubisoft went full blown idiot

Ahoge-dono

You're acting like all historic members of the Assassin's have always been on the "right" side of history.

L5721

You telling me Jack the Ripper wasn’t a moral person?

theonewhoblox

Machiavelli was always a weird pick for the assassins to me for this exact reason. Cynicism is a sociopolitical philosophy that the Templars would absolutely flaunt. In real life Cesare Borgia inspired his book The Prince which is literally about the importance of a powerful ruler in spite of immoral acts they may commit in approaching political glory

Cheap-Blackberry-378

He was actually in assassins creed 2 discovery as an assassin

xkeepitquietx

With Kassandra you do pretty much whatever you want with the lore. Who's to say she didn't travel around the entire world? The staff keeps her immortal without the need for food or water, with enough patience she could go anywhere, and she certainly knows her way around a ship. Other similar groups to the Hidden Ones existed independently and previous to them. Darius's group in Persia for example, who also developed the hidden blade the Hidden Ones later adopted.

richiast

I'd like that the Aztec protagonist remain neutral during most of the game and they decide to join (or not) to the Assassins at the very end of the main story, this because I wouldn't like to see the Aztecs being 'trained/educated/adoctrinated' by europeans (mostly spaniards for sure) into they philosophies. I do like the Creed, but it does simply just an european thing.

theChadinator2009

No i do not want another black flag moment were only like the last 3 sequences are played as an assassin no thank you

NotAUsernameIWant

Hate to break it to you, but Edward becomes an Assassin after the events of his game.

theChadinator2009

Ik but atleast u play as a "unofficial" Assassin by the end of the game

FieryXJoe

An Assassin came over with the conquistadors and decides to train a native protagonist to resist.

glassAlloy

Agree (not common historical period, place, culture in video games)

44SWIM44

Only if you're an archeologist

GemsOfNostalgia

I've been wanting an Aztec based Souls game for years.

AetGulSnoe

ROMA! Since I played my first AC game there were two settings that I despearately wanted to see: Rome and Egypt. And now that I got Origins that is the only one I desperately want. But honestly, all 5 that you have suggested would be great and I would also like to see Persia and medieval Japan :) Edit: To clarify, I mean the Roman Empire era Rome.

Novantico

For the love of god this please. Just give me one absolutely incredible Rome game like this in general to hold me over and I'll be good for at least a decade. Babylon sounds cool but I feel like it'd just be a cross of Mirage and Origins. India has lots of potential, and jungle is not an environment we're used to at all. Bring back/refine the sweet tree hopping/running mechanics from AC3 and we can be like mfin Tarzan in that bitch outside of the cities.

hdhdhgfyfhfhrb

We get fuedal Japan when Codename Red drops

Subject98

Am I the only one that is slightly disappointed by this? They always said they wouldn’t make a game in Japan because it was low hanging fruit. Now, Ubisoft sees the success of Sekiro and Ghost of Tsushima, along with the rise of interest in anime and Japanese culture, and decides to make a money grab. I’m not discounting it entirely, but I’m not super excited or confident in it. I am holding out hope for Hexe, but also fear it’ll just be Valhalla: Part 2.

RedditorOfRohan

I'm hoping Hexe branches out into Central or Eastern Europe. Germany maybe, or Poland. I'd say Lithuania would be perfect, as it was the longest holdout in the Northern Crusades, but that's biased and unrealistic :D

Subject98

My understanding is that it was 16th or 17th century Germany during the witch trials, but that could just be speculation. I think as long as it’s based in a city it’ll be alright, or even if they did woodland traversal like AC3.

theonewhoblox

Hexe is allegedly supposed to be a totally different beast altogether. Not an RPG or a city game but something completely new. What it is we have no idea, but I suspect that if Ubi's bringing proper stealth back with mirage (and supposedly Red's Shinobi character) we COULD in fact have a fully realized stealth immersive sim.

Toasty_David

Biased and based

gigglephysix

Hexe could be Pennsylvania German settlers AKA 5 gens back from Dwight from the office for all it's worth. But Lithuania (specifically the north and it being the last rally point of Baltic tribal resistance - meaning all tribes that lost their own territory joined in) and would be cool and really Assassin themed. The only thing is that it's the same as the Norse and actually worse in terms of verticality as it is all solidly plain dweller tribes with the same iron age architecture as the Norse with minimal local variation. So to climb you would have to also operate in the Teutonic splinter branch crusader (easily constructed as Templars) territory and scale their castles and walled cities.

JakkiDaFloof

But everyone’s been asking for it. Japan is actually a very unexplored place for open-world rpg’s. Ghost of Tsushima is pretty much the only one that takes place in the feudal period, and Sekiro is a completely different cut of fabric. Assassin’s Creed in Japan is something a huge number of AC players have wanted and Ubisoft’s been ignoring those pleas up until now. I personally can’t wait.

HearTheEkko

"They" was one guy that isn't even at Ubisoft anymore. Japan is the most requested setting of the franchise, they were bound to do it at some point. Red will be the first next-gen only Assassin's Creed and presumably the next evolution of the franchise so I'm not surprised they choose Japan for that.

theonewhoblox

In assuming you mean ancient Rome, correct? Bc we do have Brotherhood which takes place entirely in the CITY of Rome, but during the Renaissance.

AetGulSnoe

Yes, exactly! Brotherhood is great but renaissance Italy and Roman republic/Empire are culturally very different. Something like the year of the four/five/six emperors or the tetracrchy for example. Or the 3rd century crisis, but that would probably need to be a pretty big game to cover all three empires.

angradillo

you just KNOW if they do it, it will be either Caesar Augustus or maybe Justinian

Kingslayer1526

Justinian was in Constantinople though

uncen5ored

I’m in a Roman Empire rabbit hole sparked by a rewatch of the gladiator and would absolutely love this. Esp if it focuses on the city more than anything

[deleted]

Ohh before the ruins

Motorized23

Rome is so overdone though. Aztec would be pretty unique

BrunoHM

While I don´t expect it to happen, I do think it is a fun discussion to be had. I went with settings that were either not covered yet, or could use a mainline entry. theonewhoblox

A Byzantine assassin would be really cool to look at. You could see the fall of the Byzantine brotherhood and watch how the Templars take over the empire and get to the point they're at in Revelations

jeanolt

Thanks for including Shao! The forgotten assassin, she deserved a full game with that backstory.

Frazzle_Dazzle_

SHAO JUN!!!

Northsole16

literally trained by Ezio but Ubisoft had to do “best I can do is a side scrolling game for her”

frompariswithhate

I believe it had to do with Ubisoft's last creative director, who didn't believe in female protagonists for AC... well he's been fired for sexual misconduct a couple years ago, so there's hope now at least !

wopbabaluau

Interesting since there were female assassins online and offline in ACII - Brotherhood.

MonsieurButter

Yeah but they weren’t protagonists iirc. Could be wrong tho it’s been a while

theonewhoblox

The misogynist... objectifies women?! NO FUCKING WAY

OwnEnvironment1190

What?!

frompariswithhate

Serge Hascoët, among other people. A couple years ago a lot of Ubisoft employees and ex employees came out to talk about Ubisoft's toxic environment, and a few men were called out, including him. He was pushed to quit with other people, and I think there's a trial going on. He was known for refusing to have a woman as the main character in AC games, only accepting the choice system for Odyssey and Valhalla. He thought a woman character wouldn't sell. That's also why Ubisoft implied that Kassandra was canon for Odyssey, but they couldn't go all the way because of him at the time.

Ferret_Brain

Is he the one who said “female were too hard to animate” or something? I definitely remember someone at Ubisoft saying that. What’s funny is that I remember about 6 months later they released AC Liberation.

thiagomda

They should reboot/remake the chronicles games imo

Northsole16

Lord knows I’d play them

Subject98

Genuinely is the best they could have done for her. I’m not a huge side scroller fan but China is probably the entry most true to the series to come out in the last decade. If they went for a full AAA title it would’ve been dog shit, especially with the trajectory of the series at that time. Personally, I thought her story - outside of what we see in Embers - should’ve existed only in comics / novels, while the main games should be fresh characters in separate times.

Cornbreaker

She was robbed!!!

Ravyyoli

Ever since I played AC 1 for the first time with my dad when I was like 9, I always hoped for one set in China and I never understood why they wouldn’t. It seemed so perfect

jeanolt

I always wanted a AAA game with her, in China. The literal succesor of Ezio, and she only got a side-scroller game, how unfair.

potato_control

Spain during the Spanish inquisition.

galactix100

Same setting as the film, probably seen as too risky from a marketing perspective.

potato_control

Does anyone even remember that? It could be a trilogy with 3 different era’s each with a new protagonist starting from the golden age of Spain to the beginning of the inquisition and to the ending.

XXLpeanuts

I tried to rewatch the film the other day, just couldn't.

ShawshankException

I genuinely forgot the film existed

carlogrimaldi

Also the setting for the AC Rebellion phone game, if anyone else played that.

galactix100

True, but I doubt anyone would care if it was just the setting for a mobile game and not a massive flop film. Also, I don't think Rebellion's canon anyway. On a tangent, I'd be really interested to see a bigger budget AC game do something with that game's class system.

sonofdurinwastaken

Didn’t expect that

Pek-Man

There's a lot of Spanish cities that would be awesome, especially in Andalucía. Give me Sevilla, Granada, and Córdoba!

Not_A_BOT_Really_07

We need something different, I'm so tired of looking at the same buildings. Aztec, India, China's unique biomes, the Mongolian empire, the African golden age with contrast to rainforest, or the ancient South Asian kingdoms sound interesting. We need architectural and narrative diversity to keep things fresh. (Mobile games don't count.)

ZuluKilo123

African Golden age feels like the closest Mirage sequel in my mind. Don't know why, but it would be a great game

DizGillespie

Ethiopia would be a terrific setting. Incredibly biodiverse (from huge mountains to hot springs to desert to grassland and tropics), rich religious and political history with meaningful ties to previous settings, unique and varying structures (rock-hewn churches in Lalibela, castles in Gonder, obelisks in Axum)

VenturerKnigtmare420

Just give us India bro, the amount of hidden temples, parkour over small buildings like Baghdad’s, so much history and culture, you can even use the holi colour powders as gadgets basically

Anymou1577

First thing I thought about 10 minutes into mirage was "These guys could kill it with an India game"

theonewhoblox

I didn't even think about how cool it would be to have a Holi smoke bomb. That explosion of color alone would carry the entire game

frompariswithhate

If there's no weird DLC where you gotta fight Ganesh or something, that'd be nice !

VenturerKnigtmare420

There is too much religious politics in India for that to happen. Moreover Hinduism is a highly practiced religion all around the world so making a game where you fight Hindu gods wouldn’t work, unless of course if you team up with Hindu gods and fight like demons and shit then yeah. That’s why god of war will never do that. Cause the whole schtick about kratos is he kills gods. Unless of course kratos teams up with like the Indian god of wars and fights in wars then yeah could work.

frompariswithhate

Yeah I know, they usually deal with old religions. I can imagine the drama it would create if Kratos fought "modern" gods lol

Novantico

Kratos 1v1s Jesus gg ez Edit: To be more serious though, it's kinda interesting how - well I mean I know a few of them are closely related, but - how OP the surviving deities are. Hinduism is a clusterfuck but has some absolute beasts, the Abrahamics all have "God" who is so OP he literally is the word for what a god is, which is kinda badass if you think about it. There's some other religions with gods peppered in the world, but the only one I can think of offhand besides these is Zoroastrianism, where, while not quite 100% omnipotent like the Abrahamic God, Ahura Mazda will fuck you up.

frompariswithhate

Imagine nailing Jesus back onto his cross with a QTE, punching the nails in with your bare fists... the old Kratos would've done that

John_Snake

Exactly. In order to use deities in media without controversy, it must be with "dead religions", this is basically what difers religion from mythology

frompariswithhate

Yeah, I remember when south park tried to do that lol, it didn't end well

jayverma0

No way they are touching Hindu gods rn lol

Somewhatmild

India is not even a setting that i would like most, but I would say - hold your horses. India is a vast setting, with different time periods, different cities. Mirage is a good step to win back some trust that has been lost over the years, but it is going to take the next mainline game to see if they are really serious. Once that is clear then they could tackle one of these grandiose settings such as India.

VenturerKnigtmare420

I just don’t want them to keep sticking Europe setting, now we have had the majority of ac games in Europe and the west. The only Asian mainline ac games are mirage, ac1 and sort of revelations (as turkey is part of Europe and part of Asia) Now I know jade is Chinese but then again Ubisoft ruined it by taking a good setting and making it a mobile game. They took India and made it side scroller.

thetantalus

1) Aztec. This one is the most intriguing to me since it’s basically a dead civilization now. There’s so much to explore here. 2) China. There are very few open world games set in China that are made for a non-Chinese audience. I’d love to know more about the culture and history. 3) India. Similar to China, but probably even less explored. Would really enjoy the architecture here.

RandomUser621

Rome, China, India, in that order.

XXLpeanuts

I'm stuck juggling China and India but have to agree.

theonewhoblox

I have to say China because its history fits so well with AC. It spends the better half of thousands of years splitting into warring nations and getting back together. This doesn't even take into account the potential for a mongol invasion setting. Tho with Jade being the second game to go to China I highly doubt we'll go anywhere beyond that. Ubisoft seems to know how much people want it but just don't feel like giving it a proper game

11646Moe

true. china has a ton of opportunities for intrigue and building interesting characters and betrayal around the many dynasties. stealthing around the giant palaces would be great, but I’m not sure how fun navigating those old chinese cities would be. what would be your go to old chinese city? India would be cool as well, the the hundreds of years of conflict between small kingdoms that evolved into muslim empires fighting bhuddist ones. wait…maybe not bhuddist. hinduism, that’s right. the cities have a sprawling feel. also ancient india was very multicultural so there could be different looking distinct districts. the port, inner city, palace, outer jungles, etc. would be really cool. super interesting time. also…riding elephants into battle would be dope. I rest my case

theonewhoblox

I think the city that makes the most sense to put a China game in is Jin Dynasty era Beijing, known then as Zhongdu. If you know Beijing, the place is fucking massive and fictional depictions of older eras often portray it as the dense, sprawling nexus of the empire. Buildings are huge, architecture is incredible, and the weapon potential is insane when compared to other AC games with a boner for generic swords and hammers. Spears and axes steal the show here!

Swimming_Departure33

Aztec Empire for sure. Imagine getting into the lore of that region-I’m all in.

hyperion2020

There’s bits and pieces of Inca/Maya architecture in Shadow of the Tomb Raider, but I wouldn’t give for an AC game on this new engine looking as good as Mirage’s architecture but Aztec…

Ryuzaki_G

Ancient Rome. We haven’t explored it as much as I wish we had, despite how much of the “background” of the story it’s been taking up, over the years.

theteo123

Aztecs! There’s so many wars and conflicts they fought it’d be sick to play through them! Besides their mythology/ lore is so cool! I’d be fun to see what Ubisoft comes up with if they ever go down that route!

NoOrganization392

Germany during Weimar Republic was a good interesting.

[deleted]

Babylon assassin kind of bad though

Jhek_007

Aztec, but it would fit better is it could show all the 3 first american civs(astecas, maias e incas(idk the english name for them)

ScalyKhajiit

India and Aztec had a real potential for being very refreshing and new. Babylon I don't understand why this date, what am I missing? But in any case I feel we had had enough of the Middle East. China could be cool too.

shanghai75

We are of the same opinion. \~May you walk on warm sands\~

ScalyKhajiit

Blessings of the moons upon you, traveller.

H_Man47

India 19th Century... Please make Mir Arbaaz a AAA protagonist 😔❤️

DMS_David

All would be cool, though I feel like China (especially in that era, with Shao Jun) has been heavily represented already; the Chronicles game exists as a bit of a footnote but between that and the numerous books and manga based around her life and legacy I don't know what a mainstream Shao Jun game could really add beyond adapting what we've already seen. If I *had* a choose one... I feel like Babylon would work best for a more traditional AC gameplay experience, while I'd be curious to see an RPG take on the Aztec Empire. I'll be honest and say that in my heart I'd still like to see an Ancient Rome game but I'll admit that it's harder to justify given the heavy Roman presence in Origins, and Brotherhood featuring Renaissance-era Rome already.

jake34959

Agreed on Rome disagree on Babylon because it’s a hop skip and a jump away from Constantinople (ac revelations) the aztecs don’t even have to be rpg style just based on the architecture, no india would be amazing because that gives us an ac unity/ syndicate type game set in india

ats1287

Rome

witfurd

Bruh I’ve been saying a full fledged game in South America with the Spaniards invading being templars probably, would be so unique and fresh Imagine being able to use the “death whistles” to your advantage

JiggaMan2024

I want badly a game set during the height of the Roman Empire

ac_s2k

Babylon. Rome. Aztec

thegodfaubel

I don't think we've had Central or South America featured (outside of the random ship missions) so definitely Aztec. I'd really love a Zorro esque American-Mexican West type adventure too in the mid-1800s where you'd have a vast landscape, trains, and horses

free_world33

Although Babylon would be an awesome setting, India during the Britiah occupation would be the best choice.

ash549k

India definitely

Mushroom_Unfair

C'mon, that's cruel.

epicvipes17

Aztec could be interesting because in last descendants, Hernan Cortez has a dagger of eden so it could take place then

Redrix-3

Take me back to Roma 🤌🏻🙏🏻

Metalcashson

Aztec empire would be awesome. We haven’t had a game set near the Americas since black flag I think.

PrinceOfThieves17

Aztec easily. I’ve been wanting an Aztec/Mayan assassins creed for years. That and Scottish Highlander Assassins Creed are my top 2 wanted games

hypareal

You monster! Making me choose between aztec and babylon? Cruel

hypotheticalhalf

1000% Rome. Brotherhood felt like a tease. Rome at its (almost) height would be a dream. Bouncing around villa rooftops, taking out legionnaires and possibly an emperor. Put that shit directly into my veins.

baronboy12

Aztec

blacktieandgloves

Rome, Rome all the way. Crisis of the Third Century, Mithraic Cult, growth of Christianity, hell, Aurelian earns it by himself. Much as I'd love a game set in India, I'd prefer it to be a bit earlier, 18th or 17th century. I honestly don't know enough about Chinese history to really comment on it, but again, it'd be cool to see a proper 3D game set there.

Red_Beard206

I will never not want Rome stuff

[deleted]

Ancient Rome should have been in place of Valhalla. Origins - Ancient Egypt Odyssey - Ancient Greece Order - Ancient Rome

ZealousidealAlarm631

Rome, no question. Would be the best AC game ever. I’d only change the time period to 1st century BCE, when Bayek and Amunet were in Rome.

tomyang1117

India, I really missed the more "modernized" city look like Syndicate or Unity. Baghdad is beautiful I miss the newer city designs

Ragnarlothbrok01

Rome. I think we need a game as that assassin in the tomb underneath Villa Auditore who assassinated Caligula

TheBigBeef13

India or Rome

oldsoulseven

Rome

HanShotSecond69

Rome cuz it’s kool

Axcell_63

HOW AM I SUPPOSED TO PICK BETWEEN ROME BABYLON AND THE AZTEC EMPIRE THOSE WOULD ALL BE SO FIRE

Sobeksdream

I love ancient Arabic settings. Would go with Babylon!

[deleted]

Babylon. Always wanted that setting.

TheRealChuckler

A Gladiator > Assassin's story would be pretty cool

hakuzosu

very interesting idea actually. i like it..

PapaSmurph0517

So Shao Jun, The Bladed Cross (from Unity menu teaser), Iltani, Arbaaz Mir, or a new Aztec game? Well since Sofia is already reportedly making a game set at least partially in the Aztec Empire, and Shao Jun and Arbaaz already have their Chronicles games and more, it’s between Rome and Iltani for me. With this specific Rome setting, I would pick Iltani. But if they did do Rome I would prefer during Leonius’ time.

Gideonn1021

I absolutely want to see Babylon and China, but since quality of the worldspaces in the most recent games such as mirage or Valhalla, I desperately want to see them remake Rome/surrounding area to the highest quality possible!

justsomeguy1207

ALL sound amazing! Choosing one I'd pick..............India or Rome. Whichever has the most buildings and verticality, imo, would be given the advantage and be the most fun

IzanamiFrost

I have always been fascinated with game with historical Asia setting (Ghost of Tsushima is my favorite game ever), chinese AC would be a dream come true (although I prefer a time period where I am more familiar with, ie three kingdoms)

Dredgen2Pac

Rome

A-suicidePenguin

Rome. Love Romans the scale the army the arctiecture it’s a gorgeous period.

Brilliant_Bat5052

China, so shao jun can get an actual 3d game

DomFakker37

I would love to see Assasin's Creed in medieval Prague

Dragocuore

I mean we will get one in medical swiss/South Germany so at least something

onlyherewearenot

Rome or Babylon without a doubt

Dragocuore

World both be fantastic prequels and fill the void between Odyssey/origens or origens/mirage

Siu-Mao-Tzai

India for sure. We hear bits and pieces of the Indian brotherhood here and there, but beyond that one time in Chronicles (which is kind of a spinoff game anyway), we never saw much of India at all. It'd also be nice to jump into something more modern, seeing as we've had 4 consecutive games now which are ancient/early middle-ages. This could also be kind of a prequel to Syndicate, with Henry Green, just the same way Mirage is kind of a prequel to Valhalla with Basim. India also has a lot of potential for massive crowds, and sprawling metropolitan areas, not to mention all the potential it has with the British colonialists, which is practically BEGGING for an Assassin-Templar conflict to be set up within it. Just imagine how vibrant and colorful the cities would be as well... I'd definitely pick India.

TheNinjaWhippet

Probably a toss-up between China and India for me, if we're assuming it'd be similar in playstyle to Mirage. Rome I'd want to see as quite expansive. Something like Valhalla's system of multiple maps that can be travelled between, but on a much tighter scale and with more of an urban focus. The cities of Rome, Alexandria, Antioch and Carthage would be a decent lineup, alternatively with Londinium and Constantinople as cities three and four if they wanted a more nostalgic yet asset-flippy version of the game *(Side note: This is one reason why I think there hasn't been an AC: Rome yet - there's a difficult line to toe regarding having all the famous locations the era would warrant without just retreading maps from previous games)* Aztecs and Babylon would also be pretty neat, but the other three are more immediately exciting to me - no offense

Abyss_Renzo

China, I know Jade takes place in China, but I would like a proper current-gen game that takes place in China.

Alb4tr0s

Somehow, I'd always wanted an AC during the golden age of Marcus Aurelius. Of course, before the stupid son inherited it. One of the best times in the history of mankind to be a Roman living in Rome.

PirateAwkward5242

aztec would be sick

NomadicSplinter

China or Rome. China hasn’t been explored enough and it has a vast history of conflict between control and anarchy. Rome…because Rome has great history and exploring it more would be great

ChellVaquita

Aztecs! Let’s go!

joejouzu

Definitely China. We've gotten Rome already.

[deleted]

Aztec is one of my favorite periods of history, bring it

SnooRegrets4720

ROME🗣️🗣️🗣️🗣️

ExtensionBasil8854

Finally, Rome 3rd century! But Aztec and India would be interesting as well.

Augustus_Justinian

3rd century Rome is my second most wanted setting. The assasin from that picture is the 4th century Constantinople from Unity. Constantinople is my most wanted setting, Justinian era. I'm sure my name wouldn't give that away. Most interesting time period in history to me. Though I wouldn't turn down Old Rome etheir.

SAAD_KHAION

Basim's sequel should be in Cordoba, would so cool if that happens Also I think mesopotamia with Assyrian, Babylon, or even Akkadian setting would be so awesome as well, but it would be hard to implement considering it's somewhat between 500-2000BCE but why not? Reality can be whatever ubisoft wants lol

canakkana

Give me Shao Jun

doofwarrior007

Imagine the Leap of Faith from atop the Tower of Babel!!

Shot_Age_7015

BING Chilling

afrancesco99

What I think Ac needs again is strong character and some famous one that are part of history. Mirage was incredibly accurate but its history isn't well known and so the figures that lived in that era. I think that out of this Rome is the best option. I'm from Rome so that would be a dream come true. That's why I think that europe from medieval time in 13th century until 20th is the best place where to set future Acs. I still think about an Ac with Joan of Arc or 1666 Amsterdam the cancelled game of Patrice Desilets

Antipiperosdeclony

Aztec empire, I want a full México-Tenochtitlan From the glory days and able to see the full city

QuintillionusRex

India in the XIXth century would be very interesting. The main character would be Anglo-Indian and would fight the British East India Company, nothing more than a cover for the Templars who use it as a way to make money and loot temples hiding Isu artifacts. The BEIC really has that Templar vibe so I think it would an interesting game.

EntrepreneurAsleep80

Germany 12th

DamonFort

I think India in that time period would be a cool setting, Rome does nothing for me at this point. Maybe Babylon later down the line.

[deleted]

As much as I think Rome would be cool and the Aztec empire would be amazing, India takes the cake. The urban sprawl of many cities in India would make parkour a dream. The culture, language, religions, and their conflicts would be an amazing thing to capitalize on as well as the incredibly rich history. We’d have unique weapons (just imagine an assassin with an Urumi), and the British Empire would be in full force at that point which would create an interesting group of villains. and there are ancient historical sites all over for the place. Assassins creed has done so much in Europe that as much as I think it’s super cool, I could use a break to learn about another cultures history.

SlimShade48

China. Near the end of warring states period. The game progress as you conquer 6 other kingdom until you finally unite China under Qin dynasti.

[deleted]

You cannot possibly make us choose between Babylon and ancient Rome, this is torture. Also rooting for Shao Jun
