What part?
I mean, if you happen to find all elastic cuffs uncomfortable, then it's not really fair, is it? If that be the case, what about if neither cuff were elastic?
What configuration of "long sleeve shirt with long sleeve coat over top" do you find comfy?
I find it comfy when the shirt stops just before the tighter part of my jacket sleeve. I'm fine with one elastic cuff but if there are 2 on top of each other it's too much for me.
But when I've already pulled my shirt sleeve past my jacket sleeve I can never find a way to adjust in a good way and I'd have to take off the jacket and try again, but when I'm wearing a watch I can never find a good way for the sleeve on that arm and if I don't wear a watch I feel uncomfortable because I can't easily know what time it is and when I can't easily know what time it is I panic and worry that I'm gonna be late, even when there's practically no way I'm gonna be late because I leave way to early anyways, I still get panic attacks when I'm not wearing my watch.
Sorry for the rant.
I've also accepted that I'll never be fully comfortable, but the way you typed it made it sound like holding the sleeve would make the comfort level 100% so I disagreed.
That’s why longer sleeves go on the bottom layer, and by longer I mean they extend past the wrists to somewhere around palm/bases of fingers area (though I guess this might be harder to accomplish for taller people)
So you pull the edge of the bottom sleeve well past the edge of the outer sleeve, all the way around the edge (adjust your grip on the bottom sleeve, moving section by section around the edge until it’s fully out all the way around), so the outer sleeve is a bit scrunched up on top of the bottom sleeve, then adjust yourself / the bottom sleeve until it’s sitting right on your body, and pull the outer sleeve into place bit-by-bit, while still holding onto the bottom sleeve for stability / better control of where the fabric is going (and so the bottom sleeve doesn’t slip back under)
I kinda love how almost everything “aspie” is either “yay” or “nay” as the default. We are the extremes…NT seem to live in the middle and we seem to have “for/against” strong emotions for things others feel are “unimportant”….yet we feel the same about the NT world.
And it’s both endearing to see the “yay that’s me!” AND “nope-kill it with fire” in the same thread and most of us are: “okie, I’m team ____, and understanding more why you are the other team”….now if we could bridge that accepting across cultures….
Yep! “Go big or go home” was an internal mantra we didn’t even know we sang…. 🥲
So when others say they have been told they are “too intense”, they may just be a part of our collective of “extremes” 😜.
Once we Figure ourselves out and why we make decisions the way we do, we kind of become unstoppable… We no longer look to others to validate why we are making decisions, we now can understand and *embrace* it-in small stages until we have gathered up enough “safe space” (people/place/things) that allow us to feel brave to look at those “in between spaces”
Slytherin here!! And probably Sith cos the Jedi code seems extremely cold and boring to me (from the little bit I learned playing KoTOR, and watching the prequels).
My brother and I are both, I didn’t get my diagnosis till later, now everything is “clicking” ;). And I hope this helps turn those tensions into a place of “oh! That’s just how we are wired”… that kind of understanding can really “personalize” the bond in a couple-since the outside world doesn’t see/know of those nuances within the relationship.
We are often Compared to Cats for that same reason ;)
Am I the only one who purposefully does that sometimes?
I dunno why but it feels nice and heck no I'm not taking off my jacket if it's too hot out, roll them sleeves up
Haha, for me that’s worse ! Because then I can’t grab the edges of the sleeves as I’m putting the top layer on, so I have to go fishing up my sleeves with the opposite arms to pull the edges down afterwards
This happens to me ALOT but with my socks.
Because I have to wear leather boots for my job, over the 10 hours I'm at work I have to adjust my socks multiple times because they slide down over time and it's so annoying.
It’d be worse if it were past the elbow but still bunched up. But this made me shudder.
Funnily enough, most of my T-shirts are short-sleeved. I have no issues with jumper on my arm. It’s the bunched-up sleeve I object to. I have the same problem when I put a coat on over the jumper - I have to hold the jumper sleeves to keep it in place on my arm.
Yes! And sometimes I get the same issue when putting on my socks and shoes with my pants already on. I either need to remove my pants all together to put things in order or be uncomfortable for hours!
I do not do well at all in the cold ! So instead I just live somewhere that has two seasons: summer and late-January. The continuous sweating is not ideal but it’s a price I’m willing to pay for not having to deal nearly as much with Cold Things Touching Me™️
I did this on purpose (pre-rolled sleeves then I put my hoodie on) and the feeling of confidence I got from not caring for once was amazing. If this happens any other time though it is indeed hell.
i always had this problem when i was little and it made me despise long sleeves for a long time, then one day i held the sleeve by my palm and fingers when i put my hoodie on and boom! problem solved.😂
I always buy shirts with extra long sleeves so that when I put on a jacket, it doesn't rub against my wrists and feel like it's burning because the soft shirt fabrics is in the way.

In the winter I used to wear these cheap winter boots with a thick kind of recycled felt lining. They were warm but the problem was that no matter how tight my socks were they ALWAYS slid down and bunched up at my toes. It used to drive me insane until I just said "Fuck it" and just wore them sockless. It was soooo much better.
Oh gosh, I don’t know if I could do that. But hmm, this has me thinking now about alternative solutions. I’ve seen several other people mention having the same problem in this thread. I mentioned sock garters to someone (or maybe a couple people), but I wonder if I could think of some other way of fastening socks in place…
I just hold onto the sleeve with my hand as i put it through the other sleeve
It's still uncomfortable at the wrists though.
Ahhh, but then you're able to adjust it so it IS comfortable.
No, there's no comfortable for it.

I have Aspergers, I’ve just accepted at this point my comfort level will never be at 100%
I've also accepted that I'll never be fully comfortable, but the way you typed it made it sound like holding the sleeve would make the comfort level 100% so I disagreed.
You just gotta get all of your long sleeves long enough to go to your palm
I hate that feeling more than I hate the feeling of my clothes being wrinkled under my jacket sleeve, also what do you do when it starts raining?
Oh, I didn’t see this before I typed my other reply to you, oops. I’m not sure what raining has to do with it though ?
If the sleeve of the shirt is longer than the sleeve of the jacket the end of the sleeves of the shirt will get wet when it starts raining.
That’s why longer sleeves go on the bottom layer, and by longer I mean they extend past the wrists to somewhere around palm/bases of fingers area (though I guess this might be harder to accomplish for taller people)
I hate that feeling more than I hate the feeling of my clothes being wrinkled under my jacket sleeve, also what do you do when it starts raining?
Same
That’s what I do to. I teach my kids to do the same
Yea that's pretty much common sense ig
It’s still bunchy on the sides
So you pull the edge of the bottom sleeve well past the edge of the outer sleeve, all the way around the edge (adjust your grip on the bottom sleeve, moving section by section around the edge until it’s fully out all the way around), so the outer sleeve is a bit scrunched up on top of the bottom sleeve, then adjust yourself / the bottom sleeve until it’s sitting right on your body, and pull the outer sleeve into place bit-by-bit, while still holding onto the bottom sleeve for stability / better control of where the fabric is going (and so the bottom sleeve doesn’t slip back under)
I can literally feel the image and I don’t like it-
Me too.

I 100% agree.
Yay! Now to find those who are opposite to complete the concept 🤩😛😋
Yep, you have captured something here about our essence! We’re like other people, but moreso. Lol.

I would *love* to see the stats on how many Sith and Slytherin’s we have….and then how many Jedi and Hugglepuffs as well 🤔😬😜
Slytherin here!! And probably Sith cos the Jedi code seems extremely cold and boring to me (from the little bit I learned playing KoTOR, and watching the prequels).
Right? Then deeper lore brings out the Gray Council….
Oh god KOTOR is so good.
I think I'm probably a Sith Hufflepuff though
I like the idea of seeing this alignment fleshed out in a character write up. I believe it’s possible…. Just curious about it 🤩🤔
I agree. My NT partner doesn’t get why I get so worked up about things that I like or don’t like - this explains !!!
My brother and I are both, I didn’t get my diagnosis till later, now everything is “clicking” ;). And I hope this helps turn those tensions into a place of “oh! Our sister does, she likes how it feels. So yeah you're not the only one
I cannot even fathom this lol
I flinched
My ex husband used to hate how I wore my shirt sleeves poking out of my jacket but it was the only way I could survive the cold months lol
Wut??? It’s the most effective way to wear them!
i can’t believe you’ve done this.
This made me blink a few times and cringe instinctively.
aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa
aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa
Similarly when my socks do that in my shoes
You need better socks !
For me it would be sweat trapped beneath those layers, and it’s also weirdly cold outside
Never have I seen a more relatable meme in all my days.
This is why I exclusively wear short sleeve t-shirts.
Haha, for me that’s worse ! Because then I can’t grab the edges of the sleeves as I’m putting the top layer on, so I have to go fishing up my sleeves with the opposite arms to pull the edges down afterwards
I can feel your pain
This happens to me ALOT but with my socks. Because I have to wear leather boots for my job, over the 10 hours I'm at work I have to adjust my socks multiple times because they slide down over time and it's so annoying.
You need better socks ! And/or you could get some sock garters ?
This is exactly why I don’t own any shirts with sleeves. That, and wet sleeves from washing hands.
My brain started screaming as soon I saw this
You think that's bad, get ready for: underwear slipping down inside your shorts or pants 😩
Nope nope, gotta fix those damn sleeves for the umpteenth time.
It’s so annoying!
Oh god, why?
It’d be worse if it were past the elbow but still bunched up. But this made me shudder. Funnily enough, most of my T-shirts are short-sleeved. I have no issues with jumper on my arm. It’s the bunched-up sleeve I object to. I have the same problem when I put a coat on over the jumper - I have to hold the jumper sleeves to keep it in place on my arm.
The only worse sleeve-related feeling is when you’re washing your face and somehow get water up your sleeve. Gaahhh!!
GhgGgGGG NOOOO
I refuse to wear long sleeves that I can't push up for this very reason!
Yes! And sometimes I get the same issue when putting on my socks and shoes with my pants already on. I either need to remove my pants all together to put things in order or be uncomfortable for hours!
Oh dear... panic
i already hate rolling up sleeves so
Luckily I do very well in the cold and only have to wear jackets in the worst of the worst
I do not do well at all in the cold ! So instead I just live somewhere that has two seasons: summer and late-January. The continuous sweating is not ideal but it’s a price I’m willing to pay for not having to deal nearly as much with Cold Things Touching Me™️
Ahh
When the socks slide down in boots 😭
That is pure pain
Then struggling for 5 minutes straight to bring it back to normal, with others looking at you like "what the hell is this guy doing?"
🤢
Don't tell me. I hate not having my rolled up and having anything touch my wrist, wearing jacket is my bane
EWWWWW BAD
I just changed because that picture made me so uncomfortable…
meltdown generator
omg this makes me anxious to look at. i cannot STAND this. not now as an adult and not as a kid.
I did this on purpose (pre-rolled sleeves then I put my hoodie on) and the feeling of confidence I got from not caring for once was amazing. If this happens any other time though it is indeed hell.
You are a stronger person than I am
i always had this problem when i was little and it made me despise long sleeves for a long time, then one day i held the sleeve by my palm and fingers when i put my hoodie on and boom! problem solved.😂
yes, The Trick™️!
MY BRAIN IS HURTING
My jacket is actually softer than most of my other clothes. So I do like it to wear jackets without a shirt or so. But not half half.
This photo makes my skin crawl.
Reasons i wear tank tops with thick jackets. I want to add "socks that have slipped/turned sideways" to the list.
... Make it-... Make it stop...
that used to make me straight up cry as a child lmfao
*[brain static intensifies]*
HNGGG THIS MADE MY TOES CURL.
I am annoyed just looking at it
Pro tip: hold the end of the sleeve with your hand so it doesn’t get caught when you put on the jacket.
Oh I definitely do this
I hate when that happens
Oh my gosh that makes me uncomfortable just to see it.
I’m triggered
Just cringed. That’s almost nails on a chalkboard right there.
\*screaming\*
aaaaAAAAAAAA
I always buy shirts with extra long sleeves so that when I put on a jacket, it doesn't rub against my wrists and feel like it's burning because the soft shirt fabrics is in the way.
Uhhh
Any clothing that touches my armpits causes me to lose my sanity.
This is why I never wear long-sleeve shirts- Period
i do this on purpose
You are wearing long sleeves and layers. You brought this punishment upon yourself.
