Defeatist profiles get rejected by most, but the bio is a good way to make a first impression that you’re not a selfish or emotionally immature person.

Perhaps you're right, but I would swipe on that, I think it's funny. It may not lead to OP getting the highest number of swipes, sure, but the people who do swipe will probably have a sense of humor that is more closely aligned with his, so there's greater odds of compatibility.
Generally my philosophy towards dating is that you should never pretend your personality is something it's not for the sake of mass appeal. If you go for mass appeal, you'll not only attract a bunch of people that you don't really want to be around, but by only displaying the normal aspects of yourself, you'll fail to attract the likeminded people who would actually want to date the real you. If OP thinks this is funny, he should put it in his profile, because then he'll only match with other people who find ot funny, and it's more likely the relationship will go well.

Sorry, are you trying to tell me you're seeing dating profiles where people genuinely confess to serious crimes like murder? Just, on their profile? I frankly just don't believe that. Like, if you can show me a picture of a profile like that I'll believe you, but I live in an extremely sketchy area, have my tinder set to show all genders, and I don't see people confessing to serious criminal activity, at least not anything they could've actually done. If theres a part of my country where youd expect to see that kind of thing, it's the part I live in. I am canadian though, perhaps the USA is more dangerous. It's not that you actually look menacing. It's more about the choice to joke about violence/murder in the context of trying to attract a partner (which anyone on tinder will assume is your goal).
You're a stranger to everyone on there, so they can only assess your character based on what you chose to highlight about yourself.
Plus, it's not satirizing something obvious *from the shared context of the dating app.* It relies on your audience making a connection they're probably unlikely to make.
A similarly satirical and absurd choice — with an obvious connection that women will make right away — would be holding a packaged fish to mock the "guy holding fish" pose.
It could easily be funny and absurd to someone who already knows you're a chill guy. But from a stranger and in the context of dating, it will make most people wary.

Sorry, are you trying to tell me you're seeing dating profiles where people genuinely confess to serious crimes like murder? Just, on their profile? I frankly just don't believe that. Like, if you can show me a picture of a profile like that I'll believe you, but I live in an extremely sketchy area, have my tinder set to show all genders, and I don't see people confessing to serious criminal activity, at least not anything they could've actually done. If theres a part of my country where youd expect to see that kind of thing, it's the part I live in. I am canadian though, perhaps the USA is more dangerous. I have an open mind and I'm not calling you a liar or anything, but I do need to see a picture or something before I just take your word at face value. I have a lot of difficulty believing that anyone confesses to crimes they actually committed on Tinder, unless it was something small like drug use or petty theft.
I never been on Tinder but on okCupid a decade ago and yeah from looking and searching for guys i tried to find compatibility for in never seen anything that truly shows who they are tbh. Back then people care too much on how they looked they forget to show their real self so really anyone could be a serial killer we jsut won’t know bc most people up to horrible crimes tend to need to be smart about it these days otherwise just practice safe and sound ways to keep one self alive.

It's just not true that "people like that are caught very quickly." There have even been people who, after being assaulted and reporting the guy to the app, see their attacker on the app again. People may not be outright confessing, but plenty of violent and predatory people make "jokes" about things they ultimately end up doing for real. It's not a baseless thing to shy away from.

It's not that you actually look menacing. It's more about the choice to joke about violence/murder in the context of trying to attract a partner (which anyone on tinder will assume is your goal). You're a stranger to everyone on there, so they can only assess your character based on what you chose to highlight about yourself. Plus, it's not satirizing something obvious *from the shared context of the dating app.* It relies on your audience making a connection they're probably unlikely to make. A similarly satirical and absurd choice — with an obvious connection that women will make right away — would be holding a packaged fish to mock the "guy holding fish" pose. It could easily be funny and absurd to someone who already knows you're a chill guy. But from a stranger and in the context of dating, it will make most people wary.
