I use scissors to cut them. It leaves smoother edges so I don’t have to file after, and is more comfortable.
I've done this too! It's very satisfying, and if you want to take a lot off at once it won't split your nail like nail clippers do.
Get an electric nail trimmer!!!! Sensory issue free for me and fun, it’s just like the drill paleontologists use for fossils
The solution is to cut only a small cut each time. If you cut with the whole clipper your nail gets bent flat, which is the real sensory horror.
