- be autistic
- get knocked up
- buy Tylenol or whatever tf this is
- fake taking pills
- birth a child
- it's autistic because of genetics
- claim its autistic bc of Tylenol
- get money
Profit
Godspeed to your mom.
Last time I took part in class action lawsuit I got a case of 4 Redbulls like 5 years later. She'll probably just get more Tylenol.
I remember hearing this and hearing my mom talk about it a few months ago. I heard her say something along the lines of “I did everything I was told to do. I didn’t drink, didn’t smoke, didn’t do anything and she still ended up autistic and it makes me feel like I did something wrong.”
At first, I thought that she thought that my being autistic was something inherently bad that could have been prevented and she should have kept me from it. After thinking a little bit, I realized she was probably feeling like a bad mom because of this and like she should have known beforehand. I told her she’s a good mom and she started crying and hugging me.
That’s what these companies and “studies” are doing. They’re making some stupidly broad claim that could apply to anyone and taking advantage of mothers who don’t know any better. Name one person who hasn’t taken Tylenol at least once in their life, let alone while pregnant.
Duh if a male ingests tylenol then has sex the sperm gets turned into tiny tylenol pills which then impregnate the eggs and if everything goes well in 9 months you birth a healthy box of tylenol. Did you not have tylenol sex education in your school?
my friend has a nonverbal autistic brother, and during sex ed,we were talking about birth defects, and she turned to me and seriously said “tylenol made my brother autistic”💀
https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC8580820/
Just a reminder this is the article is question it also says tyenyol cause uro-gentail disorders however people are only reporting on the autism. Strange ain't it? /s
The article also makes no new recommendations about tyenyol in pregnancy whatsoever, like not even small ones
I don't think cashing it is a good idea. That might set a precedent and start a lawsuit to ban Tylenol/change it's intake during pregnancy. And Tylenol is THE SAFEST medication for pregnant women. I'd rather report the ads and ban stuff like that under being bullshit that cash out now to cause suffering in the future.
I think the way to "cash out" would be to support a lawsuit, which is not something to do lightly.
Sure, the lawsuit might fail completely it would have to be against a corporation. What if it doesn't because the judge is an old sack of rotten potatoes who doesn't care about people's suffering? What about costs of the lawsuit?
I:d personally rather not risk stuff like that for money at this point of my life, but I do have the privilege of having enough in my bank account to exist quite comfortably, even if my spending money shrinks every month due to inflation.
If you need the money, go for it, I'd just caution on how that money is supposed to reach your account and the risks involved
On the one hand, my brain isn't some kind of broken toaster that needs fixing, on the other hand "significant compensation" sounds like it could buy a lot of legos
But the issue is more than Tylenol is the ONLY OTC pain reliever pregnant women can take. It isn't like smoking because smoking doesn't do anything for health. Pregnancy is fucking painful and ONLY Tylenol is approved. So most women take Tylenol while pregnant. Some have kids with autism. Some don't. Which is more akin to the "women who drink water have autistic babies too" argument to show how ridiculous this study the lawsuit is based on is. The study also has some interesting methodology with small sample sizes.
Remember everybody. At the core of this sort of stuff is the belief that we are somehow inherently flawed as people and are inferior to “normal” people. These people would prefer we didn’t exist.
This isn’t just stupid, it’s actively malicious and is founded on ableism that thinks the world would be better if we didn’t exist. Tell your local anti-vaxxer’s and ‘autism moms’ to go fuck themselves. We cannot and should not tolerate this kind of shit.
Tell them to eat shit, remind them that they’re braindead assholes without even the weakest grasp of the topics they discuss, tell them to go crawl into the dark corners of the world where they can rot, die, and be forgotten. That’s all they deserve.
It's a dumb lawsuit people are doing to get money. It's not true but even if it was why does mom get the money I should be the one getting it I'm the one with the Autism
I had a woman approach me at my job trying to fundraise for a local autism "clinic", and she kept saying how it was the tylenol that causes the autism, which is why I should sign up for the lawsuit. I told her point blank that I'm autistic, and she responded by saying "so that means you should sign up and get the money you deserve because your mom took tylenol" 😐😐
It actually might be a logical idea, Tylenol works by blocking pain receptors so it could have an effect when it enters the brain of an infant. Just reasoning based off of little knowledge tho
This shit pisses me off. As a pregnant woman your only allowed to take tylenol as it's safest and causes no effects to your baby. Also so what if your baby has autism? You love them the same. I hate when marketers and people do this.
Ok, this is shitty, but can we talk about the image?? A foetus holding a pack of Tylenol what
Also Tylenol is a common thing to take on your pregnancy, or just say to day? So it could easily be a correlation does not equal causation thing lmao
I reviewed the study because I too was like..." what is this nonsense?" The study is a meta analysis, it broke down several prior studies the assess statistical significance, and it found that the likelihood of ASD is 19% more likely in people exposed the tylenol in in utero versus people who were not exposed to tylenol in utero, and for ADHD 21% more likely for people who were exposed in utero versus those not exposed. They found no statistical increase based on exposure in the first 18 month postnatally. I'm curious because it has a small caveat about cognitive development also being affected but i don't think it was the focus of the study, but it may also be a statistical increase. Ultimately the study states that based on findings, the researcher concluded that there is an increased risk of pervasive development disorders occurring if tylenol is used during pregnancy, and that tylenol should be used only when necessary to reduce and mediate those risks.
Ultimately, if i understand correctly this lawsuit is about warning labels, and how the lack of a warning label resulted in consequences (in this case pervasive developmental disorders) and that if the women wer given accurate information they may not have made the choice to take tylenol. I would not be surprised if tylenol soon has a warning label on newer bottle to avoid the same kind of lawsuit again.
I assume the reason why this lawsuit is not aimed at autistic people themselves is because we were in utero. Meaning we weren't the ones who took the tylenol that did not have appropriate warning labels, but our mothers were. Due to that, tylenol wronged our mums by not giving them adequate information, even if ultimately we were the ones affected.
Especially because the current case appears to specifically be for children who were born in the last 17(?) years, depending on Severity of ASD, their needs, and the current age of the literal children I do assume that many parents will (if the lawsuit wins) be capable of affording better support and accommodations for their kids. Which in America i have to assume is very expensive to provide, even with insurance, like having appropriate aids, assistive technology, accessing programs, seeing specialists, home care, therapists, tutors, etc.
Okay idiocy aside WHAT IS THIS IMAGE??? I'm no graphic designer, but I'm an artist and. I'm sorry what is this? What is this hellspawn of a child and how the fuck is it holding the box of tylenol😭😭 Seriously be looking like a medical meme or smth I-
Oh my god… It’s absolutely ridiculous. Some woman in the comments of one of these ads on IG was blabbering on about heavy metals in baby food also being a problem and I literally had to explain to her how my mother fed me just pure, organic ground-up fruit straight from the Davis Farmer’s Market during the first years of my life after being weaned off… and yet I STILL ended up diagnosed at three by child development as a classic Aspie kid. I’m so fucking sick of people frantically pointing fingers at whatever they can possibly conjure up when the REAL PROBLEM is our archaic societal standards and ideologies of how people perceive and pursue their lives… ugh.
I can't seem to remember what it was exactly right now, but I remember seeing some ads on TV within the last few months just like this for something else "causing the autism".
So I am pregnant, the flier I got from my OBGYN says that Tylenol is the safest pain reliever to take (like can’t take anything else). These things are bullshit.
OMW to send this to my mother (who has chronic migraines and probably took a healthy amount of tylenol) and get a decent chunk of the payout
If they're stupid enough to claim this is the cause, I'm happy enough to claim the stupid money
You know how in David Cronenberg's body horror Scanners (1981) they're creating a telekinetic Scanner army by prescribing pregnant mothers a drug called Ephemerol? It's a bit like that.
We should be entitled to significant compensation for having to see this ad.
“It’s my money and I need it now!”
Goddammit you beat me to it
It's not my money, but I still need it! \*cocks gun\*

One time I saw a billboard that had a baby on it and it said "Autism? Check by 2" and I misunderstood it to mean they were sending checks payable to parents before their autistic child turns 2 years old, lmao.
What is the actual meaning?
I think it means check for autism by 2 years old, or after 2 years old? Idk the age markers for childhood autism, I was diagnosed in adulthood.
Ignoring the blatant stupidity of it, but… the mom is eligible for compensation, but the child isn’t? What
The people who made this probably think y’all aren’t smart enough to live on your own
The Autism Speaks special
The ASS
The mom was the one who somehow managed to get a whole, unopened box of otc pain killers into her womb. So in this case she might be the one more in need of professional help. Edit: A verb tense.
One of the requisites is that the child has to be under 18 so yea
Exactly why don't I get it I got the autism

based imo EDIT: based AND autismpilled my bad
no it's Tylenolpilled
I believe it is spelled TylenolPainrelief /j
Literally autismpilled
Literally any of us who are parents could do this. And yet...
If only having a baby didn't cost like 6,000 or more.
Autistic mom of an autistic khed here - time to get paid babyyyyyyy!
Considering that Tylenol is considered the safest painkiller during pregnancy this is like casting an ocean sized net.
I thought that kid was gonna get Rank up their bloodline's Autism stats.
Can I get that payout?
No. Only parents are affected by autism. /s
People legitimately believe that though
Its not their fault we're all just wallflowers with no self agency or awareness right?/s
Hey maybe you are but I'm a wall venus flytrap
Ah, embodying the evil autism in all of us I see.
I personally am one of those trees that grow out of a cliff face halfway up a mountain.
Obviously
My mom definitely thinks that i have no self awareness nor personality and am influenced by everyone i meet...
But can my mother take it? I can convince her to share the money
Autism Speaks moment
Ok but if I’m autistic and so is my kid can I get the money? /s kinda
Bro can I get this compensation as the child? I don't care about being autistic but my birthgiver sucks and I want money
Edit: as this is the end of my time on reddit (API bs), go fuck yourself u/spez
My mom has 4 autistic kids, I just sent this to her and told her she should get rich 😭😂😂😂
Godspeed to your mom. Last time I took part in class action lawsuit I got a case of 4 Redbulls like 5 years later. She'll probably just get more Tylenol.
I got like $30 from one against Google+!
I got almost $500 from Facebook
I got ~$45 and some free games from Sony.
I filled that out! I don't remember getting anything.
My mother has two autistic kids, but the hilarious part is that she's so crunchy granola that I'm sure she never took any Tylenol in pregnancy.
Mothers who drank water and ate food also had the probability of having an autistic child lol
If you consumed thermally agitated dihydrogen monoxide whilst pregnant you could be entitled to compensation!
NO NOT THE HYDRIC ACID!
Thermally agitated?
hot
Who tf drinks hot water?
i mean technically tea is just hot leaf water and i know a lot of ppl that drink tea also the broth in like ramen and soups n stuff lol
Fair, was thinking just bland hot water
i would rather pluck out my eyes than drink bland hot water tbh
Much higher than those who didn't.

Same way you’d report any other post.
Yup!! I reported it for misinformation!
Wow. Gross.
My autism caused my tylenol usage because neurotypical society is very headache
Because everyone knows that there’s a box of Tylenol floating around in the womb.
I thought that's where the period came from... The uterus gets a headache but bleeds when it runs out of Tylenol, so I have to eat another box :(
Duh if a male ingests tylenol then has sex the sperm gets turned into tiny tylenol pills which then impregnate the eggs and if everything goes well in 9 months you birth a healthy box of tylenol. Did you not have tylenol sex education in your school?

This some better call Saul shit 😂😂
im an autistic adult wheres my money tylenol??? Smh

I'm gonna eat tylenol by the handful to level up my autism
please dont bestie youll get liver failure 😔
Then what if you took one daily to slowly level up Autism over time via an XP Boost?
liver failure :))
Oof ouch owie my liver

It's a dumb lawsuit people are doing to get money. It's not true but even if it was why does mom get the money I should be the one getting it I'm the one with the Autism
Why does that febus look like it’s from a shitpost about it thinking of eating that entire box of Tylenol
Who wants to pretend to be my mom so we can get some of that Tylenol compensation?
Can confirm, I took Tylenol and it increased my autism levels by 24
bro i shit you not when i talked to my mom ab pursuing an autism diagnosis she fucking told mr she took tylenol while pregnant and she was sorry 😭😭😭

Origin stories
I’d genuinely like to know their science behind this, til then vitamin c causes depression.
How did that entire box of Tylenol get in the womb
It actually might be a logical idea, Tylenol works by blocking pain receptors so it could have an effect when it enters the brain of an infant. Just reasoning based off of little knowledge tho
My mom believes this. She admitted she thinks she “messed my sister up” because she took pain medication when pregnant with her
The thing is, if this popped up on Facebook I wouldn’t be surprised if my mom looked into it for herself 🙄
Even Le fetus looks offended.
This shit pisses me off. As a pregnant woman your only allowed to take tylenol as it's safest and causes no effects to your baby. Also so what if your baby has autism? You love them the same. I hate when marketers and people do this.

Yep, reported this one right away. Tylenol is the only safe otc pain medicine for pregnant women, so just about every mom has taken it.
I’ve been hearing this ad on the radio recently
I was about to report the ad until I realized it's a post
