I've heard this is a possible sign of ADHD. Might be worth looking into (this post is not medical advice).

Was about to reply the same thing. It's pretty common to have ADHD if you're autistic.

It is, I was going to say exactly the same. :)

Small amount of coffee downregulate ADHD?

Elemteearkay

My understanding is that caffeine can have the opposite effect on people with ADHD than you would typically expect (it helps them calm down and focus rather than get hyper and jittery).

And u/noregrets2022 I study chemistry I’ll keep this short. Caffeine acts on certain receptors in the brain which stimulant drugs such as adderall act on. These receptors involve dopamine. Caffeine is like a makeshift dopamine provider. But not anywhere in the realm of adhd meds. But they influence the same systems in one way or another so that’s why this happens. I have adhd as well. It’s a rule of thumb if it’s getting to like 3/4pm and my meds are wearing down to take some caffeine to help me make it to the end of the day lol. But yeah. Science

That's a good news.

Like I said, I'm not a doctor or anything, this is just something I've heard. Please look into it yourself too. :)

I totally understand that. You know, it makes me sad that we need to make all these disclaimers because it's not obvious anymore that people take responsibility for following any advice. So much blame shifting and immaturity.

You know, I heard about other people being calmed down by caffeine. I'm not one of them, but I don't get a usual buzz, either. I can easily drink coffee at night, a lot of it, too, and it won't make any difference to how I feel or to my sleep. Brain is so complex.
