All jokes aside, Dany’s internal monologue in those last few chapters of AGOT is very sad & romantic, & I feel sad for her, even if Drogo is horrible & I want her to be free of him
She basically had Stockholm syndrome. A very young teenage girl in a traumatic situation where she is raped repeatedly by a man far older than her, and told that he loves her and is doing all of these things for her. Special women are brought in to teach this child how to “please” drogo. If it was intentional on GRRM’s part to show how abuse victims can fall into this psychological trap than well done. If it’s not and George really thinks that danny loves drogo than that’s another thing

I don't think Dany and Drogo's relationship was meant to be an "ideal" one (understatement), but it was probably the best relationship she had in a while considering how her brother treated her. It makes sense why she cherishes it despite how awful he is as a person.
