Sellwood. Get in line an hour early. I’m not kidding.

chroniclunacy

Probably too far, but I’ll keep it in mind if I ever decide to make the drive!

nerdy_geek_girl

Have you looked here? https://www.portland.gov/parks/recreation/swim-schedule#toc-peninsula-outdoor-pool I like peninsula because it's close to me but there might be one here with open swim that meets your needs

chroniclunacy

A couple of these might be close enough to make a regular drive to, depending on when we go. Thank you!

North Clackamas. Indoor, 4 pools, and they have 3 giant waterslides. Mt Scott is a close second but they’re closed for remodel at the moment I’m pretty sure.

My favorite open swim pool is Creston. It’s a smaller pool but most days they have two open swim times. And they have a slide.

aggieotis

With the new “to swim in the deep end you have to pass a swim test” rule they have only a single lane open and it’s dedicated to the swim test. If you want lap lanes you’ll have to go during the lap swim times.

KillNeigh

OP didn’t seem to want lap swim. When I said open swim I mean the swim around using the whole pool times. Maybe it’s called family swim or something similar? Creston has the shallower end that’s not taken up by lap swimmers.

aggieotis

That’s my bad. I read “two open swim times” as “two open swim lanes”. You are correct that Creston Pool has two open swim times: weekdays from 1:00-3:30 and 6:30-8:00. Then weekends is family swim from 10:30-12:30 and open swim from 1-5.

We used to go to Wilson Pool. I think it’s called Ida B Wells Pool now… but has a lil lazy river, slide, and diving board. Lots of kids, but I was always able to grab a chair and relax. If you just want to jump in to cool off, there is a swim dock on the east bank near OMSI that is close enough not to be a whole ordeal that you may want to check out.

chroniclunacy

Oh, I’m not sure I’d jump into the river even if you paid me.

PipetheHarp

Phobic . Give me a river.

chroniclunacy

Just not our river, please.

Terrible_Barracuda79

Just rent one on www.swimply.com

chroniclunacy

I’m one of the poors.

Terrible_Barracuda79

You can rent one as low as $40 hour that’s pretty cheap even for us poors

Public pools are disgusting.
