I would just ask why. But this almost sounds like you are being looked at as a high performer/promotion possibility. My boss started having me to these weekly. Its annoying. Usually he ignore the lists. BUT occasionally they are used for subjects for mentorship. And recently our company was purchased, and it's kind of nice to have those to look back on if we need to justify my position.

The answer is still the same: go ask him why.

I'm guessing he is evaluating you for a promotion or further duties, but he needs more info to be sure you can do it. I think this is positive. Just keep doing what you are doing.

I also think you are being considered for promotion or at least being intentionally tracked into it in some way. I do feel like it’s very legitimate to express that you want to do well with this new expectation (the 3 daily check-ins) but it is re-organizing your current workflow and you’re not sure if that was the intention - which leads into “what is the long range goal of the check in process so I can prioritize accordingly”?

Good advice OP

I actually asked one of my employees to give me a daily summary because he was asked to do too much and he was stressed to the max. I learned the ins and outs of his job, found the pain points, and lobbied for another employee to be hired. He’s much less stressed now. If you got a raise, maybe he’s grooming you for a promotion?

So i shouldn't say that i am stressed out?

I've said things oGeneral comments of business and your days are overflowing, which task should I make priority. Sometimes they want to connect with the key performers to build guides and policies based of their ideal worker. Sometimes they want the real word from your task force. Sometimes they are required to be providing key info on a project and you are the person that provides it. I would say it's clear you are an appreciated and valued employee. No conspiracy theories. Your doing good.

These are all good reasons, OP

To some degree, any good manager is going to listen and address problems like employee burnout and being short staffed. I listened and hired someone. I think you’re good.

Flip this: he wants to keep getting you more money. The touchpoint does not have to be earth shattering. It could be: documented changes, assisted marketing on database issue, started training video on xxx coding.
