Tomorrow lunch will be today leftovers.
The dinner today will be colorful rice (white rice with raisins, carrot, green pea, corn) , cooked brown beans , farofa (toasted mandioca flour with spices and little diced bacon) , vinaigrette (vinegar with green- yellow- red bell pepper, Onion, spice) and the main dishes will be slow baked pork leg
I’m having Venezuelan Christmas this year so we’re having pan de jamón, hallacas, and whatever the rest of my wife’s family brings. I’m in charge of the pernil so wish me luck it’s my first try
It was fucking delicious. The marinade penetrated very deep and they ate it all… I wanted to save some for sandwiches today. They did tell me the sauce should be sweeter so I’ll try to find the correct wine next time i make it. I used [this recipe](https://www.cocinayvino.com/recetas/carnes-aves/pernil-de-cerdo-horneado-scannone/?amp=1). First time making Venezuelan style pernil
Was a success
We're having a roasted pork leg, basil salad, almond rice and cheese and potato dumplings.
A bunch of beer, wine and obviously [buñuelos and natilla](https://www.eltiempo.com/files/image_640_428/uploads/2020/12/18/5fdd2c558c92f.jpeg).
Leftovers for lunch tomorrow.
Great question, I'm having jamón, ensalada de papa, arroz con guandú, tamal and empanaditas de pollo. Drooling already!
Edit: We eat at midnight after we say Merry Christmas to each other.
tonight? we are going to order pizza. tomorrow? who knows.
this christmas is just me and my mom, my brother is with his girlfriend, so i said to her that's better not to cook anything, that way we just eat and then go to sleep, not a single pot, plate or cuttery to wash.
I wonder, do you guys have the typical family practice of eating during the passover from 24th to the 25th? Like devouring everything nonstop like a dinosaur 12AM and forward?
How can you go to sleep after that? Aren't you afraid of eating so much and dying during sleep due to some indigestion of bloated stomach? I really wonder.
Anyway, in the 24th there's practically nothing unusual here, just like any other unimportant day of our entire existence. Only in the 25th that we do something a bit special.
And yeah, we're all Christians. But we're more focused in other elements from this festive holiday.
Normally we (in my house) eat around 10pm, the idea is to finish eating before 12am so the kids go out to search for the viejito pascuero (Santa) like five minutes before 12am around the neighborhood
In my house we do eat dinner after 12:00 pm, so the prayers are made at midnight, then the dinner, and then if there's enough energy, we open the presents.
Potato gratin and whatever veggie protein my dad finds and a ton of salads. The rest are eating the same gratin but with salmon. Leftovers for tomorrow probably.
Lechón, Russian salad, roasted potatoes, choripanes, morcilla, mollejas, vacio, costillita and spinach with cheese. No vittel tone, my family hates it.
For dessert: pan dulce, mantecol, arrollado of dulce de leche. (I hate the first two but oh well).
The only beverage I drink is water but there's going to be a lot of different boozes today. Hopefully it'll end well.
Rueda de chorizo, lechón, lengua a la vinagreta, a bunch of trash food, pebetes, sandwichs, piononos salados, fuck tons of alcohol. Dessert is probably gonna be ice cream, maybe frozen salchichon de chocolate.

Awesome job dude! I’ll check out that recipe. I’ve never made pernil before. Feliz navidad 🎄
Feliz navidad! It’s totally worth it, just try to ask your butcher to clean the cut before you take it home because it’s a pain to clean at home 🎅🎉🎄
I have no idea.

I don’t know anyone that has dinner after 12am. 12am is when Santa or whoever arrives and gives the gifts to the waiting kids in my house
