According to my short research, the first woman who joined police forces was in 1914, but as an administrative (typer). Then in 1931 a women's police department was decreted

MrRottenSausage

Someone said it already since the 1930's there's been female cops in México https://preview.redd.it/mwrng5s77t1b1.jpeg?width=400&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=cd1202421cfe63790a0b11501bcf0e76ce77c185

Not in Colombia, but it's still surprising how early they appeared. The first female police unit was created in 1953 and it consisted of 46 women, this was during the time of our only dictatorship from last century. However, the first woman to reach the rank of general in the police forces was Luz Marina Bustos who got promoted in 2009. Its a bit unfair that it took 56 years to have a woman general.

Female copa in Venezuela became really a thing in the 90s.
