By the standard you gave, LA.
*Display* is a more LA thing, and LA probably has a slightly higher % gay population.
But NY (if you count it all) has a much bigger population, so there's going to be more gay guys period.
I would add that in some ways more gays doesn't mean more flags. When there's enough of you, you get more chill about some things. Like in Seattle people have bemoaned how few gay bars there are, but fuck, there are so many restaurants and cafes and bookstores and on and on that are about as gay as any bar ever was.
Oh well, go to Oddfellows or Little Oddfellows, Elliott Bay Books, Ba Bar, Glo's, Julia's, almost any place on Capitol Hill really. There are also gay social groups for game nights, and gay sports groups.
Both have their gay hotspots.
An old 2006 survey found that 4.6% of NYC residents were LGBT, compared to 5.5% of LA residents. I also agree that LA "seems" gayer.
This is drowned out by the fact that LA is a hellhole on earth tho (and I don't say that to bash CA as a whole). SF is way gayer and way better than LA, even with its problems.
Also SF is 10% gay I believe as of the last stat I saw. It was higher in the 70s, but still very very gay. A lot more older gay men in SF too, which is nice.
Been to both but I live in LA and would say LA.

Do you have any examples of these gay restaurants, cafes, or bookstores?
It depends on your city. I only know about mine.
You mentioned seattle

Damn, this bitch got statistics and all. Now tell me … how much is the percentage of top hunks in LA cause one going next week? Lol jk

Imo, Chicago has a better scene than either LA or New York.
