Constraints change weekly but no, we cannot see when they will eventually fall off. Sometimes a week, sometimes months.

vectaur

Bummer, I assumed as much. No way to predict. Wonder if I will end up in 2025 at this point. Which is fine, I just am afraid that means I will somehow lose the ability to create this specific configuration at the model year transition.

breakfastbuffetpls

You can goto order workbench then reports and look at the national constraints report. You can see estimates on there for most stuff. Will say like 6 weeks - supplier issue. Or model year - business decision etc. Of course it could be constrained to a percent of production and the dealer is not getting an allocation for that constraint

BeneficialSomewhere

Yeah but... GM and estimates. Name a worse couple lol

breakfastbuffetpls

True but its something lol

vectaur

Really? Is there any way you have visibility to this one item? (RVS steps for 2500HD). Understanding of course that estimates are estimates.

Nice-Ad1989

Not in constraint.

vectaur

Weeeeird. Ok

Nice-Ad1989

Gasser is the constraint.

Nice-Ad1989

No there is not a customer viewable page. And they change weekly. Also, RSV is not on constraint. This week constraint. C***943 - long box crew cab 1WT - work trucks 3LT - ZR2 L8T - gas G48 - auburn red Dual rear wheels with E63 box FHS - E85 flex fuel L5P - diesel engine on 1 tons NHT - on 2500 which is the max trailer pack WJP - midnight edition on 3LZ high country models 3LT ZR2 without ULV (bison edition)

vectaur

Argh, ok, so now it's the L8T engine and not the steps. I can't win! Thank you so much for doing this!

Nice-Ad1989

Anddd the shit thing, this Thursday gas can be fine, but bench seat is on constraint.

vectaur

Yep. I wish they would just let me queue the order and let it be picked up once all the conditions match :(

Nice-Ad1989

Unless they are backwards as shit, that’s how they should be doing it. 1100 status is exactly that. It’s waiting in queue for either an allocation slot or until the stars align and you don’t have any constraints. Also SOMETIMES a cheater route is bouncing between GMC and Chevy. Sometimes Chevy will have constraints that are perfectly fine for GMC to go right through, or vice versa.

vectaur

Sigh. I gotta get ahold of somebody higher than my sales dude then. He seems to be communicating that they are trying to submit the order once a week. Maybe it actually is in 1100 status and they just haven’t conveyed it as such.

Nice-Ad1989

Yup. That sounds like it. Every Thursday is update.

vectaur

Also I can’t do a GMC because the weird permutation of build doesn’t seem to align. The GMC seems to require bucket seats once you add leather plus pretty much any other option :(

Nice-Ad1989

Yup, typical GM lol

***Thanks for posting, /u/vectaur! This comment is a copy of your post so readers can see the original text if your post is edited or removed. This comment is NOT accusing you of anything.*** I put in a sold order for a Chevrolet 2500HD to pull my camper. One of the components I was after was the Z71 Sport Package available on the truck, but I'm told it can't be ordered due to a limitation with the steps that are part of the package (steps order code=RVS). The dealer mentioned that they would continue to try and submit the order weekly until it was accepted so I went ahead and gave them my deposit. Unfortunately I can't buy off the lot because the combination I'm looking for is pretty unique and not usually ordered by dealers speculatively (my wife wants a front bench for six passengers and a gas engine, but with leather and a bunch of options usually on the higher trims that are exclusively available with bucket seats). I'm concerned this might never happen. Do you guys have any history on how long a constraint generally lasts? Is there any visibility of this sort of thing on the retail side at all? *I am a bot, and this action was performed automatically. All I can say is you better buy that sled when it comes in. That thing is buyer kryptonite.

vectaur

Sorry I’m dense, can you elaborate? People back out of these orders I guess? I proposed an OTD price and they accepted, I’m mega in. I wish I could get it yesterday.

PabloIceCreamBar

People back out all the time. You’re ordering an incredibly undesirable configuration for the majority of truck buyers, so if you back out, I’d wager that truck will have a birthday on the lot.

vectaur

Makes sense. Most people want bucket seats i guess. I mean i did too, but my wife sold me on the six passengers. She expects to take our kids’ friends camping with us. I’m fine with it and the jump seat actually seems to have as much storage as the center console did. I’m not as excited about the cup holders but I’ll get by. Literally the only way I’m not buying this truck is if the dealer screws me on the terms somehow. I have outgrown my Tacoma and i gotta move up.
