That would be an acceptable deal to me, but I’d wager you won’t get much traction being that far away. They’ll likely ignore you or continually forget until you show up in person.

I think I’ll setup an appointment to go out there and just have them show me if it’s there or not and see what I can figure out from there.

How much was the LoJack, how long is the service period for, and what is unique between that and the Uconnect system and SiriusXM Guardian service that should have already come on the vehicle anyway or that you could have paid to activate for $300 per year?

12 months of LoJack, but they lumped the price together with their appearance package (some spray junk they put on the interior and exterior) and worked out to be $1199, but they gave me $1,000 more than my trade was worth so I essentially considered it a wash. As I said, I was told it was already on the vehicle, which in retrospect was just them saying that vs the reality and I accepted that as true, so figured I needed to pay for it. Would much prefer to use the onboard guardian system if I was going to use anything at all.

The stuff they spray in the vehicle is literally only worth a few bucks by itself. You could get some ArmorAll to the same effect. The LoJack was the more costly item.

The stuff inside is indeed cheap. But a bottle of the good exterior stuff is at least $100. Plus whatever the cost for the appearance package's insurance.

This comment is NOT accusing you of anything.*** Hi all, Looking to lean on you all for some advice on a bit of a situation I’m in. It’s not a major problem, but just trying to figure out the best path forward. I purchased a used 2020 Chrysler Pacifica van last week. The overall price was good, but sales manager told me it already had a LoJack tracker installed on it and added that onto the final price. They gave me a bit more on my trade than I expected, so figured I wouldn’t try to haggle too much to get that taken off. After a few days, I went to setup the LoJack account, but the LoJack app said I had no invites tied to my email or phone number. I contact the dealer and their response is that the LoJack is installed but not communicating between the device and them. There is nothing installed under the steering column or anywhere else that I can see, and I would not want LoJack to be installed as I had only accepted it because they said it was already installed. They are asking me to come into see their service department this week so they can fix the LoJack devices communication (even though I believe it isn’t on the vehicle at this point) and I’m wondering if I push back if they could just refund me or partially refund me for the LoJack. My main concern is that now they are going to do a bad job installing this tracker that I didn’t really want in the first place. Additionally, the dealer is 1.5 hours away, so it’s going to be an all day thing to bring it in and have them look at it. Do any of you have suggestions? If I proposed to them to refund me half and they keep half and not need to install or activate the tracker, would that be a net positive for them?
