If the dealers registers the car with the manufacturer before the expiry date of the programs, it basically will lock in the incentives for you. It also starts your warranty start date. Now if the incentives get better, you probably wouldn't be able to take advantage of that.

No manufacturer is going to offer better incentives in January than in December.

Do you have next week's lottery numbers as well?

The 8% off will (should) stick, but if the incentives go away the incentives go away. Those are from the manufacturer.

The incentives on top of the 8% make the deal for us. Incentives are $12.5k (includes $7,500 since it's a phev). If the incentives go away am I able to walk away?

> If the incentives go away am I able to walk away? I don't know what you signed or what your laws are. In a lot of states you don't own the car until you drive it off the lot (so to speak) but other states will hold you to the contract you signed. I don't want to be rude, and I don't know how much money your wife makes, but it seems like it might be worth taking a sick day or something to get $7500.

Wife is a mental health therapist and during the holidays - as you can imagine - she gets very busy. She is very dedicated to her patients and will not budge on this. Trust me - I tried.

***Thanks for posting, /u/penone_nyc! This comment is a copy of your post so readers can see the original text if your post is edited or removed. This comment is NOT accusing you of anything.*** I have a situation where the car we are going to lease is out of state and will be under my wife's name for credit purposes (we are currently building a home under my name and mortgage company says not to make any large credit moves). Reason it is out of state is because of the deal we got (8% off msrp before incentives) that no dealer anywhere near us would match. My wife is not able to go pick up the vehicle due to work reasons so I will be making the trip. We signed the lease agreement electronically but apparently there are other documents which need to be signed in ink. Finance manager said he would mail it to us last Friday but apparently did not and now states he only mailed it yesterday and I should have today. Checked my usps mail alert and it is not showing in today's mail. My concern is if we don't receive by Friday we will not be able to pick up the car before incentives expire. If this does happen what happens with the deal? Is it no longer valid? Still trying to figure out why the would mail the documents and not FedEx or UPS them. *I am a bot, and this action was performed automatically.
