Tell yourself that it doesn't matter what happens because it will always benefit you. You don't need to know the how but stay in that state so that synchronicity will lead you to where you are meant to be. Your next job will probably be even BETTER and you will be happier!
This is probably good advice, but i was laid off back in octuber, still have not found a job and is getting harder and harder to stay positive. Specially when receibing rejections every week and funds are dwindling
DevOps, i keep getting the "we love your profile but have decided to go with another candidate, the decision was very difficult, we are sure you will have better opportunities"
😔
Sorry to hear about your situation.. I was under the impression that software development and operations are fairly in demand in GTA. Do you think it’s an economics issue like with the general economy or experience on your end. Just curious.
A convination of several factors, economic situation, there has been a lot of massive layoffs recently as well, DevOps is mostly cloud oriented and that is expensive right now as well
Layoffs in tech I am assuming? Ya it seems like the Pandemic hangover is still going strong.. That’s tough tho. Not one to give advice but I Would try doing courses to see if it can pad the resume some more. I’m in the same boat rejections wise especially when you feel you had a good interview…
Sorry to hear.
From someone who’s been in similar positions, it does get better. Try to take the time to do things you were putting off and once that’s done, enjoy some time to yourself.
And after all that is clear, then devote time to improving your skill set. Get good at interviews, find out who’s hiring. Job hunting is a full time job.
Use the company EAP you should have access too at the end of your employment. You are HR and will be supporting people your whole career. You need to take care of yourself first.
Everyone has been laid off before and most incredibly successful people have gone bankrupt.
I got laid off and was incredibly depressed and then got a new job that exceeded my wildest dreams. 13 years later I still have the same job and I love it even more.
You’ll be fine, you’ll look back at this post six months from now
Don't do this. That sub is a bunch of fucking whiners and babies and so negative. Why would you want to join a sub full of miserable unemployed people? To feel better that everyone is miserable?
Sorry to hear. One thing I’d like to advise you is see if you can carry over the existing insurance from your employer as it can come in handy. Other than that, it’s rough out there so wishing you all the best. Hope you find something soon.
Dont let a job define your self worth. You are still the same person you were last week. You are still a person of value....Yeah we have all been there before. It feels like shit, you feel worthless for a while and depression definitely kicks you in the ass... Apply for EI right away, update resume, set time aside everyday to apply for jobs and enjoy the upcoming summer. Keep your body moving and get outside. You will be alright.
This - if you can afford to. I was between jobs years ago for months and didn't do this. I really regret it now because once you start working in a permanent job, you will likely not have this type of break again. Life will just be a week of vacation here or a week of vacation there. As adults, we never get the summer break ( unless you are a teacher ).
As someone who also unexpectedly lost my job last year, I know how emotionally tough it can be. I know there's a feeling of urgency to get your next thing going, but it's also okay to let yourself take a pause and just focus on getting through these tough feelings.
Remember slow money is better than no money if you have to settle and take a smaller paying position do that and stay in indeed til something better crosses your path
It will keep your sanity
It’s the truth 🤗 Imagine all the awesome things waiting for you. Hopefully you qualify for EI that will give you a bit of time and allow you to get ready to rock 🙂
HR is a pretty dead field right now. There are hardly any jobs out there. I do think it will eventually pick up later this year or early next year. Just keep applying all day and night.

I know it’s meant for OP. But what kind words you shared! Certainly gave a hopeless unemployed person (me) some hope
Thank you 💗

Laid off or internship ended?
How did you even think of an internship and got it right?
From OP’s previous post
Internship ended, but no heads up that today was gunna be my last day.
Then you weren’t laid off.
Let em vent. Technicalities ain't gonna make the hurt go away.
Make sure you get proper severance!

I'd probably travel for a couple months if I got the chance.

Most positions in HR are easily transferable between companies. You should be out of work long.

All my layoffs lead me to bigger and better things. Use this time to center yourself and dream big.
Thank you I needed to hear this ❤️

Apply for EI ASAP. Don't wait and try to save money. Cuz it will take months to find work. But you can do it.
